## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## Empire Flippers Listings Scraper

### What does Empire Flippers Listings Scraper do?

It reads the public **Empire Flippers Marketplace API** and returns every **online business for sale** (or sold) as a clean row: listing number, title, asking price, annual and monthly multiple, net profit, revenue, expenses, profit margin, 12-month trends, niches, monetization models, platforms, traffic, countries, assets included and listing dates, plus a link to the listing page.

Empire Flippers' API page says: "You can use this to syndicate those listings on your own website, email list, or use the data personally as a buyer."

Price: **$1.5 per 1,000 listings** ($0.0015 per row) plus a tiny start fee. Status rows (nothing matched, API failed) are free.

### Quick start

1. Run it with the prefilled input: `{"listingStatus": "For Sale", "maxItems": 20}`. That returns up to 20 listings, about $0.03 at $1.5 per 1,000.
2. Export the dataset as CSV, JSON or Excel, or read it through the API.
3. For a deal feed, turn on **Only new since last run** and add a daily schedule: later runs return and charge only listings you have not seen before.

### Use cases

| You want to... | What this actor gives you |
| --- | --- |
| Watch for new deals as a buyer or acquisition fund | Daily schedule + **Only new since last run**. |
| Track asking multiples by niche or monetization | Asking price, annual and monthly multiple, net profit, niches and monetization models per listing. |
| Valuation comps | **Sold** listings with the same fields and a **Sold since** date filter. |
| Feed a spreadsheet, database or AI agent | JSON, CSV, Excel or API output with listing numbers and links. |

### Only new since last run

Turn on **Only new since last run** and schedule the tool daily. Each run returns (and charges) only listings it has not returned to you before. The memory is a key-value store named `empire-flippers-listings-state` in your own Apify account. Use **Only-new memory name** to keep a separate memory per saved search. The first run returns everything that matches (up to **Max listings**).

### Input

- **Listing status**: For Sale (default), Pending Sold or Sold.
- **Search text**: optional full-text search, e.g. `Amazon FBA`.
- **Min / max asking price**, **min / max annual net profit**, **min / max annual multiple**: optional filters (USD).
- **Sold since**: date filter for Sold listings.
- **Sort by / Sort order**: default newest first.
- **Max listings**: caps the run and your cost.

Example:

```json
{"listingStatus": "For Sale", "minAnnualNetProfit": 50000, "maxItems": 20, "onlyNew": true}
```

### Output (one row per listing)

```json
{"rowType": "listing", "listingNumber": 98096, "title": "$41.4K Per Month Info Product Business in the Travel Niche",
 "listingStatus": "For Sale", "listingPrice": 1043139, "annualListingMultiple": 2.4, "monthlyListingMultiple": 29,
 "multipleType": "SDE", "averageAnnualNetProfit": 434642, "averageAnnualRevenue": 496324, "profitMarginPercent": 88,
 "netProfitTrendPercent": -16, "revenueTrendPercent": -20, "trendMonths": 12,
 "niches": ["Travel", "Information", "Lifestyle"], "monetizations": ["Info Product", "YouTube"], "platforms": ["WordPress"],
 "country": "US", "firstMadeMoneyAt": "2021-07-17", "hoursWorkedPerWeek": 10, "firstListedAt": "2026-10-30T13:00:00.497Z",
 "listingUrl": "https://empireflippers.com/listing/98096/", "status": "ok"}
```

(Shortened. Example values from the API on 2026-10-30; live values change. Full field list in the Output tab.)

Download as JSON, CSV, Excel or via the Apify API.

### What it does not collect

Only factual listing fields. The tool does **not** output seller names, seller contact details, seller interview links, the free-text write-ups (summary, reason for sale, seller support), images, or any data behind Empire Flippers' NDA or login. Business URLs are not public in the API and are not included.

### How it works

- Reads `robots.txt` first and obeys it; one request at a time with at least 2 seconds between requests (Empire Flippers asks for no more than 1 per second); no login, no cookies; redirects are not followed.
- Up to 100 listings per request, so a full pull of about 170 listings is 2 requests.

### Limitations

- Only listings that Empire Flippers shows in its public API. Their API page notes: "Listings may disappear from the API for various internal reasons."
- Numbers are as reported on the listing at run time. They are not audited by this tool.
- Only new mode remembers listing numbers, not price changes. A re-listed or re-priced listing with the same number is not returned again.
- Sold listings may not show a sale price or sold date in the API. Empty fields are left empty, never guessed.
- If the API changes its format, you get a free `unexpected-response` status row, not a charge.
- Not affiliated with or endorsed by Empire Flippers. Empire Flippers is a trademark of its owner.

### Changelog

- 2026-10-30: first release.
