## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## France vs EU: Public Debt, Deficit, Tax & Unemployment (Eurostat)

### What it does

Pulls official Eurostat series and returns one row per country × indicator: latest value, first value, change in percentage points, gap vs the EU27 aggregate, and the country's rank among the 27 EU member states (1 = highest value). Indicators: general government gross debt, net lending/borrowing (deficit), total expenditure, total revenue (all % of GDP, Eurostat gov_10dd_edpt1 / gov_10a_main), total taxes and net social contributions % of GDP (gov_10a_taxag), unemployment rate 15-74 and 15-24 (une_rt_a).

**Who it's for:** Economic journalists, newsletter writers, finance/macro dashboards, students, anyone comparing France with other EU countries.

All numbers come straight from the official source at run time. Nothing is estimated or modelled; field names are neutral and every item carries `source` and `source_url`.

### Input

Defaults work out of the box. Example:

```json
{"countries": ["FR", "DE", "EU27_2020"], "indicators": ["government_debt_pct_gdp", "youth_unemployment_rate_pct", "tax_to_gdp_pct"], "sinceYear": 2015}
```

### Free sample output

### Pricing

Pay per event: **$0.005 per result row ($5 per 1,000)**, charged only for successful rows (event `indicator-row`). Errors are returned with an `error` field and are not charged. Apify free-plan credits cover thousands of rows.

### Data source & licence

Eurostat dissemination API (ec.europa.eu/eurostat), © European Union, reuse authorised (CC BY 4.0). Dataset code and filters in each item (`source`).

### Limits

Annual data; the latest year depends on Eurostat releases (EDP notifications in April/October). Ranks only consider EU27 member states with data for that year. Official APIs/open data files only, no scraping, no personal data.
