## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Nordic Company Registries: Norway & Finland (Official)

Search the **official company registries of Norway (Brønnøysund Register Centre) and Finland (PRH / YTJ)** in one run and one clean schema — by **activity code (NACE)**, **city**, **number of employees** (Norway), **registration date** and **name**.

Official open data, legal to reuse: no scraping of private websites.

### What can you do with it?

- 🎯 **B2B prospecting in the Nordics.** *"IT companies in Oslo and Helsinki"*, *"Norwegian software companies with 50+ employees"*.
- 🆕 **New companies.** *"Norwegian IT companies registered since January 2026"*.
- ✅ **Company checks.** Status (active / bankrupt / winding up / ceased), legal form, registration and founding dates, VAT registration and last annual accounts (Norway).

### Why this Actor?

| | This Actor | Typical registry scrapers |
|---|---|---|
| Norway + Finland in one schema | ✅ | ❌ one country |
| Correct activity filtering | ✅ true NACE prefix matching | ⚠️ the Finnish API also matches codes *containing* the digits ("62" returns 46620 wholesale) — we filter those out |
| Ceased / bankrupt companies removed | ✅ by default | ❌ often mixed in |
| Sole traders (personal data) excluded | ✅ by default | ❌ |
| Official open data | ✅ NLOD 2.0 & CC BY 4.0 | varies |

### Input

| Field | Description | Example |
|---|---|---|
| `countries` | `NO`, `FI` | `["NO", "FI"]` |
| `activityCodes` | NACE Rev. 2.1 codes or prefixes | `["62"]`, `["62.100"]` |
| `cities` | Cities / municipalities (each used in its own country) | `["Oslo", "Helsinki"]` |
| `companyName` | Name search | `"equinor"` |
| `minEmployees` / `maxEmployees` | Headcount range (Norway only) | `50` |
| `registeredAfter` | Registered on or after | `"2026-01-01"` |
| `activeOnly` | Exclude bankrupt / winding-up / ceased (default `true`) | `true` |
| `companiesOnly` | Exclude sole traders (default `true`) | `true` |
| `maxResults` | Maximum companies (split between countries) | `500` |

### Output

Real example (Norway):

```json
{
    "id": "NO:...",
    "country": "NO",
    "registryId": "...",
    "name": "ABAX AS",
    "legalFormCode": "AS",
    "legalForm": "Aksjeselskap",
    "activityCode": "58.290",
    "activity": "Utgivelse av annen programvare",
    "employees": 104,
    "city": "LARVIK",
    "status": "active",
    "website": "www.abax.no",
    "url": "https://data.brreg.no/enhetsregisteret/oppslag/enheter/...",
    "sourceAttribution": "Brønnøysund Register Centre (Enhetsregisteret) — Norwegian Licence for Open Government Data (NLOD) 2.0"
}
```

Other fields: `foundedDate`, `registrationDate`, `address`, `postalCode`, `municipality`, `vatRegistered` and `lastAnnualAccountsYear` (Norway), `endDate` (Finland). Activity descriptions are in Norwegian for Norway and in English for Finland.

### Sources & licences

- **Norway** — Brønnøysund Register Centre, Enhetsregisteret, *Norwegian Licence for Open Government Data (NLOD) 2.0*.
- **Finland** — Finnish Patent and Registration Office (PRH), YTJ open data, *CC BY 4.0*.

### Notes

- Norway returns at most 10,000 companies per search: narrow with a city, activity or headcount to get everything.
- Use NACE Rev. 2.1 codes: Finnish companies classified only with the old 2008 codes are ceased ones.

### Pricing

Pay per company returned. Set a maximum cost per run and the Actor stops exactly there.

# Actor input Schema

## `countries` (type: `array`):

Official registries: Norway (Brønnøysund Register Centre) and Finland (PRH / YTJ).

## `activityCodes` (type: `array`):

NACE codes or prefixes, e.g. "62" (IT), "62.100" (computer programming), "56" (restaurants), "41" (construction). Both registries use NACE Rev. 2.1.

## `cities` (type: `array`):

e.g. "Oslo", "Bergen", "Helsinki", "Espoo". Each city is used in the country it belongs to.

## `companyName` (type: `string`):
