Pay per usage

This Actor is paid per platform usage. The Actor is free to use, and you only pay for the Apify platform usage, which gets cheaper the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## Website Tech Stack Detector – CMS, Shop, Analytics & Hosting

Find out which technologies a website uses – for one domain or a list of 10,000. The actor loads each homepage once and detects **190+ technologies** from the HTML, the response headers and cookie names. No browser, very cheap, failed websites are not charged.

- **CMS and site builders:** WordPress, TYPO3, Drupal, Joomla, Contao, Ghost, Craft CMS, Webflow, Wix, Squarespace, Jimdo, Framer, headless CMS (Contentful, Sanity, Storyblok …)
- **E-commerce:** Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, Shopware, PrestaShop, BigCommerce, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, JTL-Shop
- **Frameworks and libraries:** Next.js, Nuxt, React, Vue.js, Angular, SvelteKit, Astro, jQuery, Bootstrap, Tailwind CSS
- **Marketing:** Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Matomo, Hotjar, Microsoft Clarity, Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, Google Ads, HubSpot, Klaviyo, Mailchimp
- **Cookie consent:** Cookiebot, OneTrust, Usercentrics, Borlabs Cookie, Complianz, consentmanager
- **Chat, payment, reviews:** Intercom, Zendesk, tawk.to, Stripe, PayPal, Klarna, Trustpilot, Trusted Shops
- **Infrastructure:** Cloudflare, Fastly, Akamai, CloudFront, Vercel, Netlify, WP Engine, Nginx, Apache, IIS, PHP, ASP.NET
- **Versions** where the site reveals them (e.g. `WordPress 6.6`, `Nginx 1.24.0`, `Angular 17.3.1`)
- **Delta mode:** schedule it and receive only websites whose tech stack changed – e.g. a lead that migrated its shop system

### Use cases

- **Lead generation and sales:** qualify lead lists by CMS, shop system or missing tools ("Shopware shops without a consent tool")
- **Agencies and freelancers:** find websites on outdated or specific platforms to offer migrations and support
- **Competitive research:** what do competitors use for analytics, chat, A/B testing or hosting?
- **Compliance checks:** which of your own websites still load Google Analytics, Meta Pixel or no consent manager?

### Pricing

Pay per event: **USD 1.50 per 1,000 analysed websites** (event `result`), with lower prices on higher Apify subscription plans. There is no start fee. Websites that fail (DNS error, timeout, HTTP 4xx/5xx, blocked by robots.txt) are **not charged**; they are listed in the key-value store record `FAILED_URLS`. Users on the Apify Free plan are limited to 50 websites per run.

### How it works and limits

- One GET request for the homepage (plus redirects, up to 5) and one request for `robots.txt` per host. 10 websites are analysed in parallel, at most 1 request per second per host. 1,000 websites take about 3–6 minutes.
- Detection uses the actor's own signature list: script and stylesheet URLs, meta generator tags, response headers, cookie names and characteristic HTML markers. JavaScript is not executed, so tools that are loaded only after cookie consent or by a tag manager may not be visible – the tag manager itself is detected.
- Only the homepage (or the URL you enter) is analysed, not the whole site.
- **robots.txt is respected** (user agent `TechStackDetector`, otherwise the `*` rules), as are machine-readable text-and-data-mining reservations (`tdm-reservation: 1`). Such websites are skipped and not charged.
- Some websites answer automated requests with 403 or a bot challenge page. The actor reports what the server delivers and never tries to bypass such protection.
- Only technology names, categories and versions are returned – no page content, no contact data.

### Responsibility

The actor reads publicly delivered technical information (HTML markers, headers, cookie names) of the websites you enter and identifies itself with an honest user agent. You are responsible for how you use the results, e.g. for marketing in line with applicable law. Product names are trademarks of their owners and are used only to describe detected technologies; this actor is not affiliated with any of them or with the websites analysed.

# Actor input Schema

## `urls` (type: `array`):

Domains or URLs, one per line (e.g. example.com or https://www.example.com/shop). Domains without scheme are tried with https:// first, then http://. Duplicates are removed.

## `timeoutSecs` (type: `integer`):

Websites slower than this are skipped (not charged).

## `mode` (type: `string`):

'all' returns every website. 'delta' returns only websites whose detected technologies changed since the last run with the same input (e.g. a lead switched its CMS or shop system).

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of analysed websites (= charged events) per run. Users on the Apify Free plan are limited to 50 results per run.

## `deltaStateName` (type: `string`):

Name for the delta state, e.g. "lead-list-tech". Leave empty to derive it from the input.

## Actor input object example

```json
