## Pricing

from $2.10 / 1,000 results

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Website SEO Audit Crawler – On-Page SEO Checker

Crawl a website and get an on-page SEO audit for every page: one clean JSON row per URL with the SEO tags, metrics, a list of issues and a score from 0 to 100. No browser, no login, very cheap.

- **Tags:** title, meta description, first H1, canonical, meta robots, X-Robots-Tag, `lang`, hreflang count, viewport, Open Graph and Twitter card
- **Content metrics:** word count, H1/H2 count, internal and external links, images and images without `alt`
- **Structured data:** schema.org types found in JSON-LD (e.g. `Organization`, `Product`, `BreadcrumbList`)
- **Technical:** status code, redirects, response time, HTML size, indexability
- **Issues and score:** missing or duplicate titles and descriptions, missing H1, `noindex`, canonical to another URL, thin content, slow pages, 4xx/5xx and more
- **Delta mode:** schedule it and receive only pages whose SEO data changed – new pages, changed titles, new `noindex`, new errors

### Use cases

- **Technical SEO audit** of your own or a client's website before and after a relaunch
- **Monitoring:** run it weekly in delta mode and get notified (email, Slack, webhook) when a page suddenly turns `noindex` or loses its title
- **Content inventory:** export all titles, descriptions and word counts to a spreadsheet
- **Agencies:** quick audits for prospects, with issue lists per URL

#### Issues and score

Each page starts at 100 points. Every issue costs points: `HTTP_ERROR` / `FETCH_ERROR` 100, `NOINDEX` 30, `TITLE_MISSING` 25, `META_DESCRIPTION_MISSING` 15, `DUPLICATE_TITLE`, `H1_MISSING`, `CANONICAL_TO_OTHER_URL`, `VIEWPORT_MISSING`, `THIN_CONTENT` (< 200 words), `SLOW_RESPONSE` (> 3 s) and `REDIRECT` 10 each, `TITLE_TOO_LONG` (> 60 characters), `TITLE_TOO_SHORT` (< 15), `MULTIPLE_H1`, `DUPLICATE_META_DESCRIPTION`, `LANG_MISSING`, `IMAGES_WITHOUT_ALT` and `LARGE_HTML` (> 2 MB) 5 each, `META_DESCRIPTION_TOO_LONG` (> 160), `META_DESCRIPTION_TOO_SHORT` (< 50) and `CANONICAL_MISSING` 3 each. Duplicates are flagged from the second page on; `duplicateTitleOf` names the first page with that title.

In delta mode, the volatile metrics `responseTimeMs`, `htmlSizeKb`, `wordCount`, `internalLinks`, `externalLinks`, `images` and `h2Count` and the issue `SLOW_RESPONSE` are left out, so that only real SEO changes are reported. Those items include `changeType` (`new` or `changed`).

### Pricing

Pay per event: **USD 3.00 per 1,000 audited pages** (event `result`), with lower prices on higher Apify subscription plans. There is no start fee. Users on the Apify Free plan are limited to 50 pages per run.

### How it works and limits

- The crawler starts at each start URL and follows links on the same host (after following a redirect of the start URL, e.g. to `www.`). Files such as PDFs, images and scripts are not crawled.
- It sends at most 1 request per second to a website (or slower if `robots.txt` sets a `Crawl-delay`). 100 pages take about 2 minutes, 1,000 pages about 17 minutes.
- **robots.txt is respected** (user agent `WebsiteSeoAudit`, otherwise the `*` rules). URLs that `robots.txt` disallows are skipped and not charged. Pages with a machine-readable text-and-data-mining reservation (`tdm-reservation: 1`) are skipped as well.
- The actor reads the HTML as delivered by the server and does not run JavaScript. Pages that are rendered only in the browser (some single-page apps) show little content.
- Some websites answer automated requests with 403 or a bot challenge. The actor reports that status and does not try to bypass any protection.
- The page body text is never returned – only SEO tags (title, description, first H1, max 200 characters) and metrics.

### Responsibility

Audit websites that you own or that you are allowed to analyse, e.g. for a client. The actor only reads publicly reachable pages, identifies itself with an honest user agent and respects robots.txt. This actor is not affiliated with any search engine or with the websites audited.

# Actor input Schema

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

Start URLs, one per line (e.g. https://www.example.com). The crawler follows links on the same host only. URLs without scheme get https://.

## `maxPages` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of URLs requested per website (= charged results). The crawler sends at most 1 request per second, so 1,000 pages take about 17 minutes.

## `maxDepth` (type: `integer`):

How many clicks away from the start URL the crawler goes. 0 = start URL only.

## `includePatterns` (type: `array`):

Crawl only URLs that contain one of these texts, e.g. /blog/. The start URL is always crawled.

## `excludePatterns` (type: `array`):

Do not crawl URLs that contain one of these texts, e.g. ?sort= or /tag/.

## `mode` (type: `string`):

'all' returns every page. 'delta' returns only pages whose SEO data changed since the last run with the same input (new pages, changed titles, new issues, noindex …) – ideal for scheduled SEO monitoring.

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of audited pages (= charged events) per run across all websites. Users on the Apify Free plan are limited to 50 results per run.

## `deltaStateName` (type: `string`):

Name for the delta state, e.g. "my-site-seo". Leave empty to derive it from the input. Use different names to run independent monitors.
