## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## Australia NDIS Provider Intelligence

Find registered NDIS providers across Australia and export structured provider information for research, lead generation, market analysis, and compliance screening.

Search by provider name, ABN, location, registration status, or registration group. Optionally include matched public compliance and enforcement records.

> **Independent tool using publicly available Australian Government data.**\
> This Actor is not affiliated with or endorsed by the NDIA, the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, or the Australian Government.

### What you can do

Use this Actor to:

- Find registered NDIS providers across Australia
- Search providers by business or legal name
- Look up providers by ABN
- Filter by state or postcode
- Filter by registration status
- Filter by NDIS registration group
- Export provider locations and registration details
- Include matched public compliance and enforcement actions
- Build provider lists for market research or B2B lead generation

### Input

All filters are optional.

| Input | Example | Description |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Business name | `Care Services` | Partial business or legal name |
| ABN | `12345678901` | Exact ABN |
| State | `NSW`, `QLD`, `VIC` | Filter provider locations |
| Postcode | `2000` | Filter provider locations |
| Registration status | `Approved` | Filter by registration status |
| Registration group | `0120` | Filter by NDIS registration group |
| Include compliance | `true` | Match public compliance records |
| Compliance actions only | `false` | Return only providers with matched actions |
| Max results | `1000` | Maximum number of providers returned |

#### Example input

```json
{
  "states": ["NSW"],
  "registrationStatuses": ["Approved"],
  "includeCompliance": true,
  "maxResults": 100
}
```

### Output

Each Dataset item represents one provider.

Typical fields include:

```json
{
  "businessName": "Example Care Pty Ltd",
  "legalName": "Example Care Pty Ltd",
  "abn": "12345678901",
  "registrationStatus": "Approved",
  "registrationGroups": [],
  "locations": [],
  "compliance": {
    "hasActions": false,
    "actionCount": 0
  }
}
```

Additional fields may include provider identifiers, registration details, source provenance, retrieval time, locations, and matched compliance records where available.

For nested data such as locations and compliance records, JSON export is recommended.

### Compliance data

When enabled, the Actor attempts to match providers against public NDIS compliance and enforcement records.

Matches use conservative provider identifiers and exact identity information. The Actor does **not** use fuzzy matching to assign regulatory actions to providers.

A provider with no matched action should not automatically be interpreted as having no compliance history.

If the compliance source is temporarily unavailable, provider results can still be returned with compliance availability clearly indicated.

### Data sources

Data is retrieved from public sources published by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, including:

- NDIS Provider Register
- Compliance and enforcement actions

The Actor retrieves current source data when it runs. Availability and update frequency are controlled by the source publisher.

### Pricing

**$2.00 per 1,000 provider results**

| Providers | Approx. provider charge |
| ---: | ---: |
| 100 | $0.20 |
| 1,000 | $2.00 |
| 5,000 | $10.00 |

Platform usage is included in the event pricing.

A very small Actor Start charge may also apply.

### Important limitations

- Locations represent addresses listed in the source data and are not guaranteed service areas.
- Missing source information remains missing rather than being inferred.
- Compliance matching is informational only.
- This Actor does not score provider quality, safety, trustworthiness, or suitability.
- Provider data should be verified against current official NDIS Commission records when used for important decisions.

### Privacy

This Actor processes public provider and regulatory information.

It does not collect NDIS participant identities, disability information, health information, participant plans, or other private participant data.

### Disclaimer

This Actor is an independent data intelligence tool and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by the NDIA, the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, or the Australian Government.

Data is sourced from publicly available official sources. Compliance matches are provided for informational and research purposes only and should not be treated as legal, regulatory, safety, or suitability assessments.

# Actor input Schema

## `businessName` (type: `string`):

Case-insensitive substring. Empty means no name filter.

## `abn` (type: `string`):

An 11-digit ABN; spaces and punctuation are accepted.

## `states` (type: `array`):

Australian state abbreviations. Matches source locations only; unknown locations do not match.

## `postcodes` (type: `array`):

Four-digit strings, preserving leading zeros (e.g. 0800).

## `registrationStatuses` (type: `array`):

Exact case-insensitive source status, for example Approved.

## `registrationGroups` (type: `array`):

Exact registration group code (120 or 0120) or full label; unknown groups do not match.

## `includeCompliance` (type: `boolean`):

Fetch public compliance records. An unavailable lookup is null, never zero.

## `onlyWithComplianceActions` (type: `boolean`):

Requires includeCompliance. If lookup fails, returns provider search results with unknown compliance and a summary warning.

## `includeRawSourceData` (type: `boolean`):

Includes only allowlisted provider business fields. Narratives and unrecognized fields are excluded. Null when merged rows differ.

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):
