## Pricing

from $2.20 / 1,000 keywords

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Google Trends Scraper: Compare Keywords, Regions, Related

Give a list of keywords and get one row per keyword with Google Trends interest over time, interest by region and top and rising related queries, compared on one 0-100 scale in groups of up to five. For SEO and content teams, e-commerce sellers and researchers who check search interest every week and cannot rely on pytrends or Google's closed alpha API.

### What you get

- Up to five keywords compared on one 0-100 scale in one run, exactly as Google Trends compares them: 71 for pickleball next to 12 for padel means padel has a sixth of the interest, not two unrelated series.
- Interest over time, interest by region and top and rising related queries for every keyword in one row, so one run replaces three.
- One price per keyword with everything included, $3.00 per 1,000 keywords (from $2.20 on higher Apify plans); a keyword that fails or has no data costs nothing.

### Example output

One `keyword` row (the lists are shortened here; a real row holds the whole series):

```json
{
  "type": "keyword",
  "keyword": "pickleball",
  "geo": "US",
  "timeRange": "today 12-m",
  "status": "ok",
  "reason": null,
  "group": 0,
  "comparedWith": ["padel"],
  "interest": [
    { "date": "2025-10-12", "value": 71 },
    { "date": "2026-10-11", "value": 64, "isPartial": true }
  ],
  "latest": { "date": "2026-10-11", "value": 64 },
  "peak": { "date": "2026-07-12", "value": 100 },
  "average": 58.4,
  "regions": [{ "geo": "US-WY", "name": "Wyoming", "value": 78 }],
  "relatedTop": [{ "query": "pickleball paddle", "value": 100, "formattedValue": "100" }],
  "relatedRising": [{ "query": "pickleball near me", "value": 24750, "formattedValue": "Breakout" }],
  "relatedTopicsTop": [],
  "relatedTopicsRising": [],
  "fetchedAt": "2026-10-18T09:00:00.000Z"
}
```

`status` is `ok`, `no_data` (Google has no interest data for the keyword in that range and region), `partial` (interest is there, but regions or related queries could not be fetched; the `reason` says which) or `error` (the group could not be read). Only `ok` rows are charged. `comparedWith` lists the other keywords of the same group; keywords with the same `group` number share one 0-100 scale. `relatedTopicsTop` and `relatedTopicsRising` stay empty unless Google offers topic lists for the keyword. If nothing could be written at all, one free `run` row says why, so the dataset is never empty.

### How to use it

1. Enter 1 to 25 keywords, pick the country and the time range.
2. Click Start. The Actor takes about 10 to 15 seconds for the two default keywords.
3. Download the dataset as JSON, CSV or Excel, or connect it to Google Sheets, Make, Zapier or n8n. To watch a market, schedule the Actor weekly.

### Input

| Field | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| `keywords` | 1 to 25 keywords or phrases, up to 100 characters each. Compared in groups of five in the order given; duplicates are dropped | `["pickleball","padel"]` |
| `geo` | Country code such as `US` or `GB`, or a region such as `US-CA`; empty means worldwide | `US` |
| `timeRange` | `now 1-d`, `now 7-d`, `today 1-m`, `today 3-m`, `today 12-m`, `today 5-y` or `all` | `today 12-m` |
| `includeRegions` | Add interest by region | on |
| `includeRelated` | Add top and rising related queries | on |
| `proxyConfiguration` | Apify Proxy settings; datacenter, automatic group | Apify Proxy on |

### Pricing

$3.00 per 1,000 keywords ($0.003 per `ok` keyword row), from $2.20 per 1,000 on higher Apify plans ($2.60 on Silver, $2.20 on Gold and above). One `keyword` event includes the interest over time, the interest by region and the top and rising related queries of that keyword: one row that replaces up to three runs elsewhere. Rows with `no_data`, `partial` or `error` status, `run` rows and keywords dropped by your cost limit are free.

The default run (two keywords) costs $0.006 and 25 keywords cost $0.075. Set a maximum cost per run to stay in control: the run stops when it is reached, its status message says `Stopped early: user_budget`, and keywords not yet processed get no rows and cost nothing.

### Limitations

- Values are Google's relative interest from 0 to 100 inside each group of five, never search volume. Two groups have two separate scales; to compare keywords with each other, keep them in one group (up to five).
- Google can refuse or slow down requests. The Actor pauses one second between requests, waits at most 20 seconds for an answer, refreshes its Google cookie once if Google answers 429, and stops with an explanation in a `run` row if Google stops answering three times in a row or refuses the requests. Groups already delivered stay charged; nothing else is.
- The default range `today 12-m` is the one tested most. The other ranges and region codes such as `US-CA` use the same Google endpoints. The last point of a series can be marked `isPartial` by Google: it covers an unfinished period.
- Apify Proxy datacenter, automatic group; residential and custom proxies are refused (the run ends at once with a `blocked` explanation row and no charge).
- Data is what the public Google Trends site shows; this Actor is not affiliated with Google.

### FAQ

**Do I need a Google account or API key?** No. The Actor reads the public Google Trends data, with no login.

**Is this search volume?** No. Google Trends publishes relative interest on a 0-100 scale, where 100 is the peak of the series in the group.

**Why up to five keywords per group?** Google Trends compares at most five keywords on one scale. With more keywords, the Actor makes further groups of five.

**What does a keyword without data cost?** Nothing. Only `ok` rows are charged.

### Changelog

- 1.0 (2026-10-18): first release. Up to five keywords per scale, interest over time, regions and related queries per keyword, Apify Proxy support, pay per keyword.

# Actor input Schema

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

1 to 25 keywords or phrases. They are compared in groups of five, in the order you give them, and each group shares one 0-100 scale. Duplicates are dropped.

## `geo` (type: `string`):

Two-letter country code such as US or GB, or a region such as US-CA. Leave empty for worldwide.

## `timeRange` (type: `string`):

Google Trends range. Values are Google's relative interest from 0 to 100, not search volume.

## `includeRegions` (type: `boolean`):

Adds one extra request per group of five keywords. No extra charge.

## `includeRelated` (type: `boolean`):

Adds top and rising related queries, one extra request per keyword. No extra charge.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Requests go through Apify Proxy by default. Apify Proxy datacenter, automatic group; residential and custom proxies are refused (the run stops at once with an explanation row and charges nothing).

```
# Actor output Schema
## `rows` (type: `string`):
One row per keyword: interest over time, interest by region and top and rising related queries, on one 0-100 scale per group of up to five keywords; free run rows explain a block or an empty result.
## `summary` (type: `string`):
Counts for the run: keywords processed, keywords charged, groups, calls made, stop reason.
