Pay per usage

This Actor is paid per platform usage. The Actor is free to use, and you only pay for the Apify platform usage, which gets cheaper the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

# README

## Account Signal Enricher

Turn **bounded public-company-web research** into source-backed account records that can enter a CRM, a research process, or an AI workflow. This first release is intentionally deterministic: it records what was publicly observed, where it was observed, when it was retrieved, and what remains unknown.

### What it does

For each submitted company home-page URL, the Actor processes a small set of well-known public routes such as the home page, `/about`, `/careers`, `/pricing`, `/customers`, and `/case-studies`. It checks public `robots.txt` by default, never uses authenticated pages, and does not attempt to bypass CAPTCHAs or other access controls.

The Actor returns one dataset item per company with an observed offering summary, public-web signals, ICP-keyword matches, source URLs, evidence excerpts, a deterministic fit-coverage score, and explicit caution reasons. A fit score is an evidence-coverage aid; it is **not** a prediction of purchase intent.

### Input

| Field | Required | Purpose |
|---|---:|---|
| `companyUrls` | Yes | Public company home-page URLs, one per item. |
| `icpKeywords` | No | Terms to look for in public text, such as `enterprise`, `SOC 2`, or `Salesforce`. |
| `maxPagesPerCompany` | No | Bounded page budget from 1 to 8; default 5. |
| `respectRobotsTxt` | No | Checks public `robots.txt` before processing candidate pages; default true. |
| `requestTimeoutSecs` | No | Per-page public HTTP timeout; default 15 seconds. |

### Output

Each account record includes `status`, `companyName`, `companyUrl`, `offeringSummary`, `fitScore`, `confidence`, `sourceUrls`, `signals`, `cautionReasons`, and `retrievedAt`. When a public page cannot be processed, the record preserves the failure state instead of inventing missing information.

### Responsible use

Only submit pages that you are permitted to research. You are responsible for confirming that your use complies with applicable law, website terms, privacy obligations, and your own data-governance policies. Do not use this Actor to access private, authenticated, controlled, or access-restricted content.

### Example input

```json
{
  "companyUrls": ["https://example.com"],
  "icpKeywords": ["B2B SaaS", "enterprise"],
  "maxPagesPerCompany": 5,
  "respectRobotsTxt": true
}
```

### Support

If a result is incomplete, inspect `sourceUrls`, `signals`, `cautionReasons`, and `error` before treating the record as operationally ready. Report reproducible issues with the input URL and timestamp.

# Actor input Schema

## `companyUrls` (type: `array`):

One public company home-page URL per item. Paths and query strings are ignored so research remains bounded to the company domain.

## `icpKeywords` (type: `array`):

Optional terms to look for in public page text, for example: B2B SaaS, SOC 2, Salesforce, or enterprise.

## `maxPagesPerCompany` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of known public routes to process for each company. Lower limits reduce execution time and public-web load.

## `respectRobotsTxt` (type: `boolean`):

When enabled, the Actor checks the company's public robots.txt before requesting a candidate page.

## `requestTimeoutSecs` (type: `integer`):

Per-request timeout for public pages. Keep this low for a bounded first release.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "companyUrls": [
    "https://example.com"
  ],
  "icpKeywords": [
    "B2B SaaS",
    "enterprise"
  ],
  "maxPagesPerCompany": 5,
  "respectRobotsTxt": true,
  "requestTimeoutSecs": 15
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `accountRecords` (type: `string`):

One completed, partial, or failed record per submitted company domain.

# API

You can run this Actor programmatically using our API. Below are code examples in JavaScript, Python, and CLI, as well as the OpenAPI specification and MCP server setup.

## JavaScript example

```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
// Initialize the ApifyClient with your Apify API token
// Replace the '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' with your token
const client = new ApifyClient({
    token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>',
});
// Prepare Actor input
const input = {
    "companyUrls": [
        "https://example.com"
    ],
    "icpKeywords": [
        "B2B SaaS",
        "enterprise"
    ],
    "maxPagesPerCompany": 5,
    "respectRobotsTxt": true,
    "requestTimeoutSecs": 15
};
// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("functional_closeup/account-signal-enricher").call(input);
// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
console.log(`💾 Check your data here: https://console.apify.com/storage/datasets/${run.defaultDatasetId}`);
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
items.forEach((item) => {
    console.dir(item);
});
