## Pricing

from $66.00 / 1,000 competitor monitoreds

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## Competitor Pulse — AI Competitor Intelligence Monitor

Watch a competitor **holistically** — pricing, website/messaging, hiring, tech stack, news, **and AI-answer-engine visibility** — and get an AI **"what changed & why it matters"** executive summary. Point it at a previous run and it reports only what *changed*. Schedule it daily; competitive change is continuous.

Competitive-intelligence platforms (Crayon, Klue) cost $15k–$60k/yr, are sales-gated, and drown you in noise with no "so what". This is the self-serve, API-first, pay-as-you-go version — with a signal none of them own.

### 🔗 Chain it after your scraper

Already building company lists with **[Google Maps Scraper (`compass/crawler-google-places`)](https://apify.com/compass/crawler-google-places)**, **[Shopify Store Leads Scraper (`clearpath/shopify-store-leads`)](https://apify.com/clearpath/shopify-store-leads)** or **[LinkedIn Company Details Scraper (`harvestapi/linkedin-company`)](https://apify.com/harvestapi/linkedin-company)**? Drop those companies' domains into the watchlist and get an always-on "what changed & why it matters" feed across pricing, hiring, tech and AI-answer visibility. Works with any Maps, Shopify or company scraper's output.

### Quick start

1. **Fill in the input** — set the fields in the input tab (prefilled with a working example).
2. **Click Start** — the Actor runs and writes one record per item to the dataset.
3. **Get your data** — export to **JSON, CSV or Excel**, or pull it via the API.

### What it does

Per competitor domain it gathers public signals and diffs them against the baseline:

- **Pricing** — detects changes on the pricing page
- **Website / messaging** — flags material homepage rewrites
- **Hiring** — open roles from the public ATS (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby)
- **Tech stack** — detected from the site
- **News** — fresh headlines
- **AI-answer visibility** (the unique hook) — are competitors overtaking you in ChatGPT/Perplexity answers? Tracks your share of voice vs. the competitors you monitor.

Then OpenAI writes a per-competitor **executive summary** — what changed, why it matters strategically, and a recommended action.

### Input

| Field | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| `competitors` | array | Competitor domains to monitor. Required. |
| `watch` | array | Which signals (empty = all): pricing, website, hiring, tech, news, ai_visibility. |
| `yourBrand` | string | Your brand — enables the AI-visibility signal. |
| `yourDomain` | string | Your domain — flags cited sources you own. |
| `aiCategory` / `aiQueries` | string / array | Category or explicit buyer prompts for AI-visibility. |
| `baselineDatasetId` | string | A previous run's dataset ID → report only what changed. |

```json
{
  "competitors": ["linear.app", "asana.com"],
  "yourBrand": "Jira",
  "aiCategory": "project management software",
  "watch": ["pricing", "hiring", "tech", "news", "ai_visibility"]
}
```

### Output

One record per competitor (snapshot + `changes[]` + `executiveSummary`), plus AI-visibility records (your share of voice per prompt/engine).

### Pricing (pay-per-event)

| Event | When | Price |
|---|---|---|
| `competitor-monitored` | per competitor per run | $0.25 |
| `change-detected` | per material change found | $0.15 |
| `ai-summary-generated` | per competitor executive summary | $0.40 |
| `ai-visibility-snapshot` | per run (share of voice across AI engines) | $0.50 |

### Who it's for

Product marketers, sales enablement, founders and agencies who need to track competitors without a $30k/yr contract.

### Notes

- Requires an OpenAI API key (`OPENAI_API_KEY`).
- Schedule it daily with a `baselineDatasetId` to get change alerts automatically.

# Actor input Schema

## `competitors` (type: `array`):

The competitors to monitor — one domain per line. Accepts domains or URLs.

## `watch` (type: `array`):

Which signals to monitor (leave empty for all).

## `yourBrand` (type: `string`):

Your brand name — enables the AI-visibility signal: are competitors overtaking you in ChatGPT/Perplexity answers? Required for the ai_visibility signal.

## `yourDomain` (type: `string`):

Your website domain — flags cited sources you own in the AI-visibility check.

## `aiCategory` (type: `string`):

Optional category to steer auto-generated buyer questions, e.g. 'project management software'.

## `aiQueries` (type: `array`):

Buyer questions for the AI-visibility check. Leave empty to auto-generate.

## `aiQueryCount` (type: `integer`):

If no AI prompts are given, how many to auto-generate.

## `samplesPerQuery` (type: `integer`):

How many times to sample each AI prompt (confidence).

## `baselineDatasetId` (type: `string`):

Optional. A previous run's dataset ID — results then report only what CHANGED since then.

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

How many competitors to process in parallel.

## `model` (type: `string`):

OpenAI model for summaries and AI-visibility. gpt-4o-mini is the cost-effective default.
