## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Lever Jobs Scraper – Job Board API with Company Search

Get open jobs straight from the career sites of companies that hire through Lever (Palantir, Spotify, Netflix, Plaid ...). This actor uses the public job-board API that powers each company's own career page, so the data is fresh, complete and doesn't need a browser or proxies.

**Two ways to use it**

1. **Search the built-in directory** (default): leave *Companies* empty and set keywords, locations, remote or "posted within N days". The actor scans **307 verified company boards** and returns only the matching jobs.
2. **Your own companies:** paste slugs, board URLs or career pages, for example `palantir`.

### Why this actor

- **Fresh, direct data.** It reads the company's own board instead of an aggregator copy, and gives you the apply URL.
- **One clean schema:** title, department/team, locations, remote and workplace type, employment type, salary (when published), posted date, job URL and apply URL. Full description is optional.
- **Filters:** keywords (any; `engineer*` prefix matching), exclude words, locations, remote only, posted within N days, company-name filter for the directory.
- **Only-new mode** for daily feeds and alerts: schedule it and get only jobs you haven't received before.
- **Cheap:** **$1.00 per 1,000 jobs**. You pay for the jobs delivered, plus a flat $0.01 for a scan of 500+ directory boards.

### Input examples

Remote data jobs posted in the last 7 days, across the whole directory:

```json
{ "keywords": ["data engineer", "data scientist", "analytics*"], "remoteOnly": true, "postedWithinDays": 7 }
```

All jobs at specific companies:

```json
{ "targets": ["palantir"], "includeDescription": true }
```

Daily feed of new sales jobs in London (schedule it):

```json
{ "keywords": ["sales", "account executive"], "locations": ["London"], "onlyNew": true }
```

### Output (one item per job)

```json
{
  "uid": "greenhouse:airbnb:7212345",
  "company": "Airbnb", "company_slug": "airbnb", "ats": "greenhouse", "job_id": "7212345",
  "title": "Senior Software Engineer, Payments",
  "department": "Engineering", "team": null,
  "locations": ["San Francisco, CA", "Remote - US"], "country": "US",
  "remote": true, "workplace_type": "remote",
  "employment_type": "full_time",
  "salary_min": 180000, "salary_max": 250000, "salary_currency": "USD", "salary_interval": "year",
  "posted_at": "2026-10-06T17:03:11Z",
  "job_url": "https://...", "apply_url": "https://...",
  "scraped_at": "2026-10-08T12:00:00Z"
}
```

The `OUTPUT` record of the run's key-value store has a run report: boards scanned, failed boards, jobs fetched, matched and delivered.

### Use cases

- Job boards and aggregators (niche boards, remote boards, regional boards)
- Recruiting and sales intelligence: who's hiring, for which roles, and where
- Job alerts for yourself or your users
- Labour-market and compensation research
- AI agents and RAG over fresh job postings

### Pricing

- `job`: **$0.001** per job delivered.
- `directory-scan`: **$0.01** once per run, only when the run scans 500 or more boards of the built-in directory. Runs on your own company list never pay it.
- No subscription. Filtered-out jobs and dead boards are free.
- Use *Max jobs in total* or the run's maximum cost to cap spending.

### Notes

- The directory was built by verifying public boards and is refreshed regularly. Companies that move to another ATS are skipped automatically.
- Only public job postings are collected (no personal data beyond what companies publish in their ads).
- Not affiliated with Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby or Workday. These names are trademarks of their owners and are used only to describe compatibility.

# Actor input Schema

## `targets` (type: `array`):

Leave empty to search the whole built-in directory. Or one company per line: a slug (palantir, spotify), a board URL (https://jobs.lever.co/palantir) or a career page that uses Lever.

## `searchAllCompanies` (type: `boolean`):

When no companies are given (default), the actor scans its built-in directory of 307 verified Lever job boards and returns the jobs matching your keywords/location filters. Turn off to require your own company list.

## `companyNameFilter` (type: `array`):

Optional. Limit the directory scan to company names containing any of these words (e.g. "ai", "health", "bank").

## `maxCompanies` (type: `integer`):

0 = all. The biggest boards (most open jobs) are scanned first.

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

Keep a job if ANY keyword matches its title, department or team (case/accent-insensitive whole words; trailing \* = prefix, e.g. "engineer\*"). Empty = all jobs.

## `excludeKeywords` (type: `array`):

Drop jobs whose title contains any of these words (e.g. "intern", "senior").

## `searchInDescription` (type: `boolean`):

Also match keywords against the full job description (broader, noisier). Off = title/department/team only.

## `locations` (type: `array`):

Keep a job if ANY of these strings appears in its locations or country (substring, case-insensitive), e.g. "London", "Germany", "New York". "remote" also matches jobs flagged remote. Empty = all locations.

## `remoteOnly` (type: `boolean`):

Only jobs flagged remote by the ATS or with 'Remote' in their location/title.

## `postedWithinDays` (type: `integer`):

Only jobs posted (or, if the ATS has no posting date, updated) in the last N days. Empty = no date filter.

## `includeDescription` (type: `boolean`):

Add description_html and description_text to each job. Off keeps the dataset small. (SmartRecruiters needs one extra request per job for this.)

## `onlyNew` (type: `boolean`):

Remembers delivered jobs in a named key-value store (lever-jobs-state), keyed by your companies + filters. Scheduled runs then output (and charge) only newly posted jobs. The first run returns everything that matches.

## `stateKey` (type: `string`):

Custom name for the delta memory, so you can edit companies/filters and keep the history. Default: derived automatically from companies + filters.

## `maxJobsPerCompany` (type: `integer`):

Safety cap per job board (applied before filters for most ATSs; after title/date pre-filter for Workday).

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many jobs are output (you are charged per job output).
