## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Liquor License Search – New Bar & Restaurant Leads (multi-state)

Search **official state liquor license data** from six states in one clean schema: business (DBA) and legal name, license type, a normalized business category (bar/restaurant, liquor/grocery store, manufacturer, wholesale), license number, status, issue / application / expiry dates, full premises address, county and (Missouri) phone.

Find **new bars, restaurants and liquor stores the week they get licensed**, catch **pending applications before they open**, or **verify a liquor license** by number.

Data comes from state open-data portals (Socrata APIs): New York State Liquor Authority, Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC), Colorado Liquor Enforcement Division, Missouri Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Control, Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Commission (OLCC) and Connecticut DCP Liquor Control. No scraping, no login, no API key.

**$1.50 per 1,000 licenses.** You pay only for records saved.

### Who uses it

- **POS, payments and restaurant software** sales teams: new restaurants and bars before they pick a system.
- **Beer, wine and spirits distributors and brand reps**: new on-premise and off-premise accounts in their territory.
- **Insurance agents** (liquor liability, BOP): every new licensee needs coverage.
- **Food and restaurant suppliers, equipment, linen, signage, staffing, music licensing, marketing agencies.**
- **New-opening detection**: pending applications (NY, TX, OR, CT) show businesses months before opening day.
- **Compliance / KYC**: confirm that a venue or retailer holds an active license.

### States and data

| Code | Source | Records | New-license data | Pending applications |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| `NY` | NY State Liquor Authority – Current Active Licenses | ~60k | original issue date | ~2.9k (received date, status) |
| `TX` | TABC – License Information | ~128k (all statuses) | original issue date | ~1k pending original applications |
| `CO` | Colorado – Liquor Licenses / Recently Approved Licenses | ~20k | recently approved feed (issue date) | – |
| `MO` | Missouri ATC – Active Alcohol Licenses / New Liquor Licenses | ~37k rows (with **phone**) | new licenses 2026 (original date) | – |
| `OR` | OLCC – Liquor Business Licenses / Applications Received | ~18k active | approved new applications (received date) | new applications in review |
| `CT` | CT DCP – Liquor Permits | ~10k active premises permits | provisional permits (new businesses) | pending permits |

`ALL` searches all six states. Fields a state does not publish are `null`.

### Input examples

New bars and restaurants licensed in New York and Texas in the last 14 days:

```json
{
  "states": ["NY", "TX"],
  "issuedWithinDays": 14,
  "categories": ["On-premise (bar / restaurant)"]
}
```

Everything about to open in Brooklyn (new licenses + pending applications):

```json
{ "states": ["NY"], "counties": ["Kings"], "issuedWithinDays": 30, "includePendingApplications": true }
```

Missouri bars in Jackson County (Kansas City) with phone numbers:

```json
{ "states": ["MO"], "counties": ["Jackson"], "licenseTypes": ["by drink"], "onlyWithPhone": true }
```

Verify licenses:

```json
{ "states": ["ALL"], "licenseNumbers": ["0001-26-145304", "100000290", "LIR.0022017.P-CW"], "activeOnly": false }
```

`licenseTypes` matches any part of the license type text or code (`restaurant`, `tavern`, `package store`, `brew`, `MB` for TX mixed beverage, `LIR` for CT restaurant). `categories` uses the normalized category.

### Output

```json
{
  "state": "TX",
  "recordType": "New license",
  "businessName": "Another Round Golf Lounge",
  "dbaName": "Another Round Golf Lounge",
  "legalName": "Another Round Golf Lounge LLC",
  "licenseType": "Mixed Beverage Permit (on-premise)",
  "licenseCode": "MB",
  "category": "On-premise (bar / restaurant)",
  "licenseNumber": "200188228",
  "status": "Active",
  "issueDate": "2026-10-19",
  "expirationDate": "2028-10-18",
  "address": "25418 Kingsland Blvd Suite 700",
  "city": "Katy",
  "zip": "77494",
  "county": "Fort Bend",
  "fullAddress": "25418 Kingsland Blvd Suite 700, Katy, TX 77494",
  "mailingAddress": "24507 Condors Nest Katy TX 77494",
  "source": "https://data.texas.gov/d/7hf9-qc9f"
}
```

`recordType` is `License`, `New license` or `Pending application`. Pending rows carry `applicationDate`. Extra fields per state: NY `effectiveDate`, `lastIssuedDate`, `latitude`/`longitude`; TX `tier`, `mailingAddress`, `subordinatePermits`; CO coordinates; MO `phone`, `contactName`, `contactRole`; OR `endorsements`, `lotteryOnPremises`; CT `contactName` (permittee), `provisional`. See the **Liquor licenses** table view or download JSON, CSV or Excel.

### New-opening monitoring

Turn on **Only new records**, set `issuedWithinDays` (e.g. 14), optionally **Include pending applications**, and schedule the Actor weekly. Each run returns only records you have not received before (tracked per **State key**).

### Pricing

Pay per event: **$0.0015 per record saved** ($1.50 per 1,000) plus a $0.00005 start fee. Set **Max licenses** or a maximum cost per run; the run stops cleanly at that limit.

| Actor (Apify Store, Oct 2026) | Price per record |
|---|---|
| **This Actor** | **$0.0015** |
| jungle_synthesizer/us-state-liquor-license-aggregator-scraper | $0.002 |
| filingradar/us-liquor-license-filings | $0.004 |
| tegusdev/us-liquor-license-monitor | $0.008 |
| malonestar/liquor-license-new-openings-tracker | $0.015 |
| scrapers_lat/usa-liquor-licenses-scraper | $0.02 |

### FAQ

**How fresh is the data?** All sources were updated in October 2026; most portals refresh daily. Colorado's "recently approved" feed lags by a few weeks.

**What does "new" mean per state?** NY/TX: original issue date. CO: the state's recently approved list. MO: new liquor licenses list. OR: approved new applications by date received. CT: provisional permits (new premises) by effective date.

**Are phone numbers or emails included?** Only Missouri publishes phone numbers. No emails – combine with a website/contact finder.

**Why does Colorado return nothing for the last 7 days?** The state's recently approved feed is published with a delay; use 60–90 days.

**Is this legal to use?** The data is published by the states as open data for reuse. Respect alcohol-marketing and telemarketing rules in your outreach.

**Other states?** Washington, Iowa and others don't publish a current premises-license open dataset with addresses; more states will be added when they do.

### Use with AI agents (Apify MCP)

Add the Actor to Claude, Cursor or any MCP client via the [Apify MCP server](https://mcp.apify.com) (`gazidev/liquor-license-leads`) and ask: *"List new restaurants licensed in Brooklyn this month"* or *"Is TABC license 100000290 active?"*. Inputs are simple JSON, outputs are flat records.

### Data sources and terms

New York State Liquor Authority (data.ny.gov), Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (data.texas.gov), Colorado Department of Revenue – Liquor Enforcement Division (data.colorado.gov, public domain), Missouri Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Control (data.mo.gov), Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Commission (data.oregon.gov), Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection (data.ct.gov). Each record links to its source dataset. This Actor is not affiliated with or endorsed by these agencies; confirm a license with the state's official lookup before relying on it.
