## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Google Play Reviews Scraper - Multi Country & Star Filter

Scrape **Google Play Store reviews** for any Android app. Type the app name, package ID (`com.duolingo`) or paste the Play Store URL — no login, no cookies, no proxy.

Get reviews in **many languages and countries in one run**, filter by **star rating** (e.g. only 1–2 star complaints), and get the **developer's reply** with every review. Reviews that show up in several locales are de-duplicated, so you never pay twice for the same review.

### What you get

| Field | Example |
|---|---|
| appName | Spotify: Music and Podcasts |
| language / country | de / de |
| rating | 1 |
| text | Full review text |
| appVersion | 9.1.86.2432 |
| date | 2026-09-29T13:23:46 |
| author | reviewer name |
| thumbsUp | helpful votes |
| developerReply / developerReplyDate | the developer's answer |
| appRatingAverage / appRatingCount / appInstalls | overall app stats |
| appId, developer, appUrl, reviewId | identifiers |

Export to JSON, CSV, Excel, or send it to Google Sheets, Make, Zapier, n8n or an LLM.

### Use cases

- **Competitor research** — read every complaint about a rival app.
- **Release QA** — set *Max star rating = 2* and sort by newest to see what broke in the latest version.
- **Customer support audits** — see which reviews the developer answered, and how fast.
- **Localization** — compare what German, Brazilian or Japanese users say.
- **Sentiment analysis / AI datasets** — clean review text with ratings and versions.

### Input

```json
{
  "apps": ["Duolingo", "com.spotify.music", "https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.whatsapp"],
  "locales": ["en-us", "de-de", "pt-br"],
  "maxReviewsPerLocale": 1000,
  "sortBy": "newest",
  "minRating": 1,
  "maxRating": 2
}
```

- **apps** — name, package ID or URL. Mix freely.
- **locales** — `language-country` pairs. Google Play groups reviews by language, so add one entry per language.
- **minRating / maxRating** — only matching reviews are returned (and charged).

### Pricing

**$0.10 per 1,000 reviews.** Duplicates across locales are not charged. Apify's free monthly credit covers tens of thousands of reviews.

### Also for iPhone apps

Need the iOS side too? Use [App Store Reviews Scraper - All Countries](https://apify.com/geese_chief/app-store-reviews-all-countries) — same fields, all 175 App Store countries in one run.

### FAQ

**How many reviews can I get?** Popular apps have hundreds of thousands per language. Set `maxReviewsPerLocale` as high as you need (up to 100,000).

**Why does en-gb return few new reviews after en-us?** Google Play mostly shares reviews across countries with the same language; we drop the duplicates so you don't pay for them.

**Is it legal?** It reads publicly visible reviews. You're responsible for how you use the data (e.g. GDPR for reviewer names).
