## Pricing

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Google Trends Scraper - Interest, Regions & Trending

Get **Google Trends data for any keyword** in seconds:

- **Interest over time** (0–100 timeline) with average, peak, peak date and trend direction (rising, falling, stable)
- **Interest by region**: countries, states/provinces, US metro areas or cities
- **Related queries**: top and rising, with % growth or **Breakout**
- **Today's trending searches** for any country, with approximate traffic and the news articles behind them

Works for **Web, YouTube, News, Image and Shopping** search, any country, any time range, any category. **Compare up to 5 keywords** on the same scale.

No API key, no login, no browser. One result row per keyword with everything inside, so it's cheap and easy to use from code, spreadsheets or AI agents.

### What you can do with it

- **SEO and content planning:** find rising queries before they peak and see where demand is.
- **Product and market research:** check whether a product, brand or category is growing or fading, and in which states or countries.
- **E-commerce and dropshipping:** run Google Shopping trends for product ideas.
- **YouTube creators:** YouTube search trends for video topics.
- **Investors and analysts:** add search interest to your models (brands, tickers, crypto).
- **Newsrooms and social media:** daily trending searches per country, with linked news.
- **AI agents (ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor via Apify MCP):** "Is 'AI agents' trending up in the US, and what are the rising related searches?"

  "geo": "US",
  "timeRange": "past-12-months",
  "compareKeywords": true,

```
}
```

Keywords with too little search volume, or a temporary Google rate limit, return one free `error` row.

### Use it from ChatGPT, Claude & AI agents

This Actor works as a tool for AI assistants through the **Apify MCP server**, and the inputs are designed so an agent can fill them in.

- **Claude (claude.ai / Desktop), ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf:** add the MCP server URL below as a custom connector / MCP server and sign in with your Apify account:

  ```
  https://mcp.apify.com/?tools=get_anything/google-trends-scraper
  ```

- **Claude Desktop / Cursor config file:**

  ```json
  { "mcpServers": { "apify": { "url": "https://mcp.apify.com/?tools=get_anything/google-trends-scraper" } } }
  ```

- **Any LLM framework or GPT Action (REST):** one call runs the Actor and returns the results as JSON:

  ```
  POST https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/get_anything~google-trends-scraper/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=YOUR_TOKEN
  ```

- **No-code:** Make, Zapier, n8n, LangChain and LlamaIndex have Apify integrations.

Then just ask, for example: *"Compare Google search interest for ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini in the US over the past year."*

### Pricing

Pay per event: you pay per keyword (with timeline, regions and related queries included) and per trending search. Error rows are free. See the Pricing tab.

### FAQ

**Why are values 0–100?** Google Trends doesn't publish absolute volumes. Values are relative to the peak in the chosen place and period. Use `compareKeywords` to put several keywords on the same scale.

**Do I need a proxy?** Google Trends rate-limits busy IPs, so Apify Proxy is on by default. The Actor retries on a new IP automatically.

**Related topics?** Google currently returns no related-topics data through Trends, so only related queries are included.
