## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

# README

## Yahoo Finance Scraper — Quotes, History & Fundamentals

Pull market data for **any Yahoo Finance symbol** — **stocks, ETFs, crypto, forex and indices** — in one run: **live quotes**, **OHLCV price history**, and **fundamentals** (P/E, margins, ROE, revenue, analyst targets, dividends). Uses Yahoo Finance's own endpoints (the Actor handles the required session **crumb** automatically). No API key.

> ⚠️ Data is provided for **informational purposes only** and is **not investment advice**.

### What it does

- **Live quote** — price, change %, open, day high/low, previous close, volume, market cap, 52-week range, moving averages.
- **Price history (OHLCV)** — open/high/low/close/adj-close/volume bars for a chosen range and interval (intraday to monthly).
- **Fundamentals** — P/E, forward P/E, P/B, PEG, beta, profit/operating/gross margins, ROE/ROA, revenue & growth, cash/debt, free cash flow, analyst target price & recommendation, dividend rate/yield/payout, sector & industry.
- Any asset class: `AAPL`, `SPY`, `BTC-USD`, `EURUSD=X`, `^GSPC`.
- Export to **JSON, CSV, or Excel**, or pull via the Apify API.

### Input

| Field | Description |
|-------|-------------|
| `symbols` | Yahoo symbols (stocks, ETFs, `BTC-USD`, `EURUSD=X`, `^GSPC`). |
| `getQuote` | Fetch the live quote per symbol. |
| `getHistory` | Fetch OHLCV history per symbol. |
| `historyRange` | `1d`…`max`. |
| `historyInterval` | `1m`…`1mo` (intraday only for short ranges). |
| `getFundamentals` | Fetch fundamentals per symbol. |
| `proxyConfiguration` | Optional proxy (usually not needed). |

#### Example

```json
{
  "symbols": ["AAPL", "MSFT", "BTC-USD"],
  "getQuote": true,
  "getHistory": true,
  "historyRange": "6mo",
  "historyInterval": "1d",
  "getFundamentals": true
}
```

### Output

One item per **quote**, **OHLCV bar**, or **fundamentals** record:

```json
{ "resultType": "quote", "symbol": "AAPL", "name": "Apple Inc.", "price": 332.27,
  "changePercent": 0.84, "marketCap": 5100000000000, "currency": "USD" }
```

```json
{ "resultType": "ohlcv", "symbol": "AAPL", "date": "2026-09-10T...", "open": 330.1,
  "high": 334.0, "low": 329.5, "close": 332.3, "adjClose": 332.3, "volume": 51230000 }
```

### Use cases

- **Backtesting / quant** — clean OHLCV for any ticker & timeframe.
- **Dashboards & watchlists** — live quotes across stocks, crypto and forex.
- **Fundamental screening** — compare P/E, margins, growth and analyst targets.
- **Alerts & AI/RAG** — feed quotes and fundamentals to an LLM or a fintech app.

### FAQ

**Do I need an API key?** No. The Actor fetches Yahoo's session cookie + crumb automatically.

**Which symbols work?** Anything on Yahoo Finance — equities, ETFs, mutual funds, crypto (`-USD`), forex (`=X`), indices (`^`).

Yahoo Finance symbols: stocks (AAPL), ETFs (SPY), crypto (BTC-USD), forex (EURUSD=X), indices (^GSPC).

## `getQuote` (type: `boolean`):

Fetch the current quote (price, change, day range, volume, market cap, 52-week range) for each symbol.

## `getHistory` (type: `boolean`):

Fetch historical open/high/low/close/volume bars for each symbol.
