## Pricing

from $0.75 / 1,000 results

This Actor is paid per event and usage. You are charged both the fixed price for specific events and for Apify platform usage.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

# README

## Google News Scraper | $0.75/1K Articles | Pay Per Result

Runs a Google News search and returns one row per article: headline, article URL, publication name, snippet, and publish timestamp. The publication name arrives as sourceName, because every row also carries source set to AnyAPI. Google News returns its latest matching articles, up to 20 per request.

### Input

| Field | Type | Required | Description |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `query` | string | yes | News search query. Operators like -, OR, and site: work here. |
| `limit` | integer | no | How many articles to ask for, from 1 to 20. |
| `gl` | string | no | Two letter country code for result localization, for example us, gb, de. Defaults to us. |
| `hl` | string | no | Two letter language code for the interface and results, for example en, es, de. Defaults to en. |
| `location` | string | no | A more specific location than the country, written the way Google writes it, for example New York, United States. |
| `timeframe` | string | no | How far back to search, written as a count plus a unit: h hours, d days, w weeks, m months, y years. For example 2h, 30d, 6m. Leave empty for no time limit. |
| `maxItems` | integer | no | Stop after this many results. Defaults to 100. Each result is charged once. |

### Output

Every result row is written to the dataset as one JSON object:

```json
{
  "title": "AI chip demand reshapes the 2026 supply chain",
  "url": "https://www.reuters.com/technology/example-article",
  "sourceName": "Reuters",
  "snippet": "Demand for accelerators continued to outpace supply through the first quarter.",
  "createdUtc": 1772236800,
  "source": "AnyAPI"
}
```

### Standby mode

This Actor also runs in Standby mode. Send the same input as a JSON body in a
POST request and it answers with `{ "items": [ ... ] }`, the same rows a
standard run would write, charged the same way.

### Pricing

This Actor is billed per result, plus one small fixed charge per run. A result
event is charged for every row it writes, and the Actor Start event is charged
once when the run begins. A run that finds nothing, or that comes back with an
empty list, writes no rows and pays the start charge only. Both prices are on
this Actor's Apify Store page.

### Support

answer.

### One shape across every platform

This Actor belongs to a set of sixteen on this account that read YouTube,
Instagram, TikTok, X, Reddit, Threads, Facebook Ads Library and Google News.
They take the same kind of input, write the same kind of row, bill the same way,
and stamp every row with `"source": "AnyAPI"`, so a pipeline written against
one of them reads all of them without a second parser.

| Platform | Actors |
| --- | --- |
| YouTube | search, channel videos, comments, transcripts |
| Instagram | profile posts, post comments |
| TikTok | profile videos, keyword search, video comments |
| X | profile, user tweets |
| Reddit | search, post comments |
| Other | Threads posts, Facebook Ads Library, Google News |
