## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## App Store Reviews

Get recent reviews for iOS apps from Apple's public customer reviews feed, by app and store country.

### What it does

- **Several apps and countries in one run.**
- **Low price per review.**
- **Privacy by default:** reviewer nicknames are off unless you turn them on.
- **Only new results:** turn on `onlyNew` and schedule the Actor to get only what earlier runs did not deliver. Nothing already delivered is charged again.
- **Bad inputs don't fail the run:** each input's status is listed in `SUMMARY` in the key-value store, and failed inputs produce no charged results.

### Input

```json
{
  "apps": [
    "https://apps.apple.com/us/app/spotify-music-and-podcasts/id324684580"
  ],
  "countries": [
    "us"
  ]
}
```

All options are described on the Input tab.

### Output

Each result has these fields, plus `fetchedAt`. Fields without a value are `null`.

- `reviewId`: Apple review ID.
- `appId`: App ID.
- `appName`: App name.
- `country`: Store country.
- `rating`: Stars, 1 to 5.
- `title`: Review title.
- `text`: Review text.
- `version`: App version reviewed.
- `date`: Review date.
- `voteSum`: Helpful vote score.
- `voteCount`: Number of votes.
- `appAverageRating`: App's average rating in this store.
- `appRatingCount`: App's rating count in this store.
- `authorName`: Reviewer nickname, if enabled.

### Pricing

$0.0002 per review returned, plus $0.001 per run. If you set a maximum cost per run, the Actor stops at that limit.

### Limits

- Apple's feed returns only recent reviews: at most about 500 per app and country. It doesn't provide an app's full history. Scheduling with `onlyNew` builds your own history over time.
- Review counts in the feed can vary by country and over time.

### Issues

Open an issue on the Issues tab with your input and run ID. This Actor isn't affiliated with or endorsed by the services it reads.

# Actor input Schema

## `apps` (type: `array`):

App Store URLs or numeric app IDs.

## `countries` (type: `array`):

Two-letter store codes such as us, gb or de. Defaults to us.

## `maxReviewsPerCountry` (type: `integer`):

Apple's feed returns at most about 500 per app and country.

## `includeAuthorName` (type: `boolean`):

Reviewer nicknames are left out by default, as most analysis doesn't need them.

## `onlyNew` (type: `boolean`):

Output only results not delivered in earlier runs. Use with a schedule. The first run outputs everything.

## `monitorName` (type: `string`):

Keeps a separate history for each monitor when Only new results is on.
