## Pricing

from $1.05 / 1,000 page analyzeds

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

# README

## Website Contact & Social Extractor

Find public emails, phone numbers, social profiles, and likely contact pages from websites. Results are deduplicated and tied to the exact evidence page.

### Better defaults

- Follows contact, about, team, support, company, and imprint links within a strict page limit.
- Stays on the starting domain by default.
- Blocks localhost, private IPs, private DNS answers, embedded credentials, and unsafe redirects.
- Returns clear failure rows and omits full page bodies.

Provide `startUrls`, `maxPagesPerSite`, and discovery controls. The default sample uses Apify's public contact page.

### Quick start

```json
{
  "startUrls": [
    { "url": "https://apify.com/contact" }
  ],
  "maxPagesPerSite": 3,
  "discoverContactPages": true,
  "sameDomainOnly": true,
  "timeoutSecs": 20
}
```

Start with one company and a low page limit. Increase `maxPagesPerSite` only when additional about, team, support, or imprint pages produce useful evidence.

### Output

Each successful page row includes the requested site, final URL, page title, public emails, phone numbers, social links, and evidence URL. Contacts are normalized and deduplicated across the bounded crawl. Failed fetches remain explicit and uncharged, while `OUTPUT` summarizes pages, sites, findings, failures, and budget status.

Use the Actor for public-company enrichment, supplier research, partnership discovery, directory maintenance, or a human-reviewed lead-research workflow. It is intentionally not an authenticated or personal-profile scraper.

### API and automation

```bash
curl -X POST \
  "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/gifted_wagon~website-contact-social-extractor/run-sync-get-dataset-items" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $APIFY_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"startUrls":[{"url":"https://apify.com/contact"}],"maxPagesPerSite":2}'
```

For n8n or Make, map a company-website column into `startUrls`, keep limits bounded, and send results to a review queue before outreach.

### Pricing

The primary `page-analyzed` event starts at **$0.0015 per successfully analyzed HTML page**. Only successful page rows are charged; failed pages and the `OUTPUT` summary are uncharged. A small Actor-start event covers startup.

### Responsible use

Public contact data can still be personal data. Use it only with a lawful basis, honor opt-outs and applicable anti-spam rules, minimize retention, and do not use the Actor for harassment, credential discovery, or sensitive-person targeting.

### FAQ and limitations

- **Does it crawl an entire website?** No. Discovery is deliberately bounded by `maxPagesPerSite`.
- **Can it access logged-in pages?** No. It works with public HTTP/HTTPS pages.
- **Does an extracted address grant permission to contact someone?** No. You remain responsible for consent, lawful basis, and opt-outs.
- **Why might JavaScript-rendered contacts be absent?** This HTTP-first Actor does not execute every client-side application.

Follow links whose paths suggest contact, about, team, support, company, or imprint information.

## `sameDomainOnly` (type: `boolean`):

Restrict discovered pages to the exact starting hostname.

## `timeoutSecs` (type: `integer`):

Maximum fetch time per page before an uncharged failure row is returned.

You can run this Actor programmatically using our API. Below are code examples in JavaScript, Python, and CLI, as well as the OpenAPI specification and MCP server setup.

## JavaScript example

```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
// Initialize the ApifyClient with your Apify API token
// Replace the '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' with your token
const client = new ApifyClient({
    token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>',
});
// Prepare Actor input
const input = {};
// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("gifted_wagon/website-contact-social-extractor").call(input);
// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
console.log(`💾 Check your data here: https://console.apify.com/storage/datasets/${run.defaultDatasetId}`);
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
items.forEach((item) => {
    console.dir(item);
});
