## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## TA Signals Kit — 200+ crypto technical indicators & signals for AI agents

Give it a crypto pair and a timeframe; get back **200+ causal technical-analysis features** for the last closed candle, as clean JSON. Built for **AI agents (MCP)**, **screeners**, **quant research** and **machine-learning feature pipelines**.

- **Live data, no API keys**: candles are fetched at run time from free public market-data endpoints (Binance → OKX → BingX fallback). Nothing is cached or resold; you get computed values, not raw price dumps.
- **Causal by design**: every value at candle *t* uses only data up to the close of *t*. Pivots count only after confirmation, higher timeframes only after their candle closed, no look-ahead padding. Safe for backtests and ML labels.
- **More than RSI/MACD**: divergences, liquidity levels and sweeps, a **major/minor liquidity-sweep classifier** on 1-minute data, fair value gaps, SuperTrend, UT Bot, Squeeze Momentum, Williams Vix Fix, chart patterns, multi-timeframe context and sessions.
- **Pay per symbol**: one charge per symbol analyzed successfully. Failed symbols are free.

> Research tool: outputs are indicators and pattern flags, **not investment advice** and not buy/sell recommendations.

### What you get per symbol

| Block | Contents |
|---|---|
| `indicators` | Readable raw values: RSI14, Stochastic, Williams %R, ROC, MACD (line/signal/hist), ADX ±DI, CCI, MFI, Bollinger (bands, %B, width), EMA12/26, SMA12/20/26/50/200, VWAP, Ichimoku, Aroon, OBV, CMF, ATR14 (and % of price) |
| `signals` | Readable state: SuperTrend & UT Bot direction, daily SuperTrend, squeeze on + momentum, Vix Fix spikes, **active divergences**, active candlestick and chart patterns, sweeps on this candle, distance (ATR) to nearest unswept swing high/low, previous-day high/low, nearest bullish/bearish FVG, RSI zone |
| `features` | 200+ normalized features grouped by family (see below): z-scores (250-candle window, clipped ±5), distances in ATR and 0/1 flags — ready for ML |
| `sweeps` | Unswept liquidity zones (prev week/day, overnight, Asia, London, 1h/15m pivots) with a strength score, and the last 24h of sweeps classified **MAJOR / MINOR** |
| `history` | Optional: the selected features for the last N candles (up to 300) as a feature matrix |

#### Feature groups

| Group | What it measures |
|---|---|
| `indicators` | The full `ta` library set (trend, momentum, volatility, volume); price levels as distance to close in ATR |
| `price_action` | 10/20/55-bar breakouts, distance to SMA20/50/100/200, returns 1/5/20/60 bars, ATR ratio, candle shape, candlestick patterns (engulfing, hammer, shooting star, doji, inside/outside, NR7, 3 up/down) |
| `divergences` | Regular & hidden, bullish & bearish divergences vs RSI14, MACD histogram and OBV on confirmed pivots |
| `liquidity` | Nearest unswept swing high/low (pivots 5 and 10), equal highs/lows clusters, previous day/week high/low, sweep flags (wick beyond, close back inside) |
| `chart_patterns` | Double top/bottom, head & shoulders and inverse, bull/bear flags, range compression and breakout from compression |
| `multi_timeframe` | Trend, RSI, EMA slope and distance to SMA200 of the 1–2 higher timeframes (closed candles only) |
| `sessions` | Asia / London / New York / overlap (UTC), 4-hour blocks, day of week |
| `fvg` | Unfilled fair value gaps on 4h/1D: distance, size, age, retests, bull-minus-bear count |
| `supertrend_ut` | SuperTrend (10, 3) and UT Bot (1, 10) on the chart TF and 4h/1D: direction, candles since flip, distance in ATR |
| `squeeze` | LazyBear Squeeze Momentum: on/off, candles since release, momentum and slope |
| `vix_fix` | Williams Vix Fix percentile and spike flag (and the inverted version for upside spikes) |
| `sweeps` | The 1-minute major/minor sweep classifier (extra 1m candles are fetched). It labels and maps liquidity zones; it is descriptive, not a predictive trading signal |

The `FEATURE_GROUPS` record in the run's key-value store has the same descriptions in machine-readable form.

### Input

```json
{
  "symbols": ["BTCUSDT", "ETH-USDT", "SOL/USDC"],
  "timeframe": "1h",
  "lookback": 1000,
  "featureGroups": ["indicators", "divergences", "liquidity", "supertrend_ut", "squeeze", "sweeps"],
  "historyBars": 1
}
```

- `symbols`: up to 25 crypto spot pairs per run, any format (`BTCUSDT`, `BTC-USDT`, `btc/usdt`, `BTC` = BTC/USDT). Agents can use `symbol` for a single pair.
- `timeframe`: `1m`, `5m`, `15m`, `1h`, `4h`, `1d`. Only closed candles are used.
- `lookback`: 300–5000 candles (default 1000).
- `featureGroups`: any subset (default: all).
- `historyBars`: 1 (default) or up to 300 rows of features for ML.
- `exchange`: `auto` (default), `binance`, `okx` or `bingx`.

An empty input runs BTCUSDT on 1h with all groups and finishes in a few seconds.

### Use as an MCP tool (via Apify)

Any MCP client (Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT connectors, custom agents) can call it through Apify's hosted MCP server:

```
https://mcp.apify.com/?tools=gleaming_carp/ta-signals-kit
```

Send your Apify token as `Authorization: Bearer <token>` (OAuth clients can sign in to Apify instead). Claude Desktop / Cursor via `mcp-remote`:

```json
{ "mcpServers": { "ta-signals-kit": {
    "command": "npx",
    "args": ["-y", "mcp-remote", "https://mcp.apify.com/?tools=gleaming_carp/ta-signals-kit",
             "--header", "Authorization: Bearer ${APIFY_TOKEN}"],
    "env": { "APIFY_TOKEN": "your-apify-token" } } } }
```

Tip for agents: ask for only the groups you need (e.g. `["indicators","divergences"]`) to keep the response short.

Failed symbols come back as `{"ok": false, "error": {"code": "symbol_not_found", ...}}` and are not charged.

### Notes and limits

- **Crypto only in this version.** Stocks/ETFs are on the roadmap once a data source whose terms allow it is in place.
- Features that need long history (e.g. daily SMA200 on a 1h chart) are `null` when the lookback is too short.
- Values are normalized for comparability across assets; use the `indicators` block for the classic raw numbers.
- Candle data comes from public endpoints of Binance (data-api.binance.vision), OKX and BingX at run time and is not stored or returned as a series.

### Pricing

Pay per event: one **result** per symbol analyzed successfully (all selected groups, optional history and sweeps included). No charge for failed symbols.

# Actor input Schema

## `symbols` (type: `array`):

Crypto spot pairs, up to 25 per run. Any format works: BTCUSDT, ETH-USDT, SOL/USDC, or just BTC (assumes USDT). Each symbol analyzed successfully is one billed result; symbols that fail are returned with an error and are not charged. Stocks/ETFs are not supported in this version.

## `timeframe` (type: `string`):

Candle timeframe. Only closed candles are used.

## `lookback` (type: `integer`):

How many closed candles to fetch and compute on (300-5000). Z-scores use a 250-candle window, so 1000+ gives more stable values; long multi-timeframe features (e.g. daily SMA200 on a 1h chart) need more history and are null when there is not enough.

## `featureGroups` (type: `array`):

Which feature families to return. All are computed on the same candles; this only controls the output. 'sweeps' fetches extra 1-minute candles (see Sweep history).

## `historyBars` (type: `integer`):

1 = only the last closed candle. Up to 300 = also return a 'history' array with the selected features for the last N candles (handy as a feature matrix for machine learning). Raw prices are not included in history.

## `sweepDays` (type: `integer`):

Days of 1-minute candles used by the sweep classifier (levels live up to 14 days). Only used when 'sweeps' is selected.

## `exchange` (type: `string`):

Where to fetch candles from (free public market-data endpoints, no API key).

## `symbol` (type: `string`):

Optional. If set, only this symbol is analyzed (the Symbols list is ignored). Handy when calling this Actor as an MCP tool.
