## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Bulk HTTP Status Code Checker – status, latency, final URL & size

Check the **HTTP status of hundreds of URLs in one run**. For each URL you get status code, latency (ms), content-type, response size, server header, and the final URL after redirects. Failures and timeouts are **free**.

Unlike a full redirect-chain auditor, this Actor focuses on fast bulk health checks: is it up, what status, how fast, what content-type.

### Use cases

- Monitor uptime / broken URLs in sitemaps and link lists
- Bulk QA of migrated URLs (status + final destination)
- Content-type audits before crawling or indexing

### Input

```json
{ "urls": ["https://apify.com", "https://example.com/missing"], "followRedirects": true }
```

### Output (one item per URL)

```json
{
  "url": "https://apify.com",
  "finalUrl": "https://apify.com/",
  "statusCode": 200,
  "ok": true,
  "redirected": true,
  "latencyMs": 182,
  "contentType": "text/html; charset=utf-8",
  "contentLength": 48210,
  "server": "cloudflare"
}
```

### Pricing

**$0.0003 per URL checked** ($0.30 per 1,000) + a tiny start fee. Network failures and timeouts are **free**.

### Notes

Uses Node `fetch` only (no browser). Prefer GET when hosts reject HEAD.

# Actor input Schema

## `urls` (type: `array`):

URLs to check (http/https). One per line.

## `method` (type: `string`):

HEAD is faster but some hosts reject it; GET is more reliable.

## `followRedirects` (type: `boolean`):

If true, report the final URL and status after redirects. If false, report the first response only.

## `timeoutSecs` (type: `integer`):

Seconds to wait for each request.

## `concurrency` (type: `integer`):

URLs checked at once.

## `maxUrls` (type: `integer`):

Check at most this many (0 = all).

## `userAgent` (type: `string`):

User-Agent profile to send.

}
```
# Actor output Schema
## `overview` (type: `string`):
All URLs (overview table).
## `summary` (type: `string`):
Counts.
// Replace the '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' with your token
const client = new ApifyClient({
    token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>',
});
// Prepare Actor input
const input = {
    "urls": [
    ]
};
// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("globose_talent_mn9/http-status-checker").call(input);
// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
