## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

# README

## Turkey Weather — MGM Official Data

Live weather for Turkey straight from the **official source**: MGM (Turkish State Meteorological Service, mgm.gov.tr). No API keys, no third-party weather reseller — the same data Turkish TV and news sites use.

### What you get

One dataset item per location:

- **Current conditions** — temperature, weather event (EN + MGM code), humidity, wind speed/direction, pressure, sea temperature, snow depth, visibility, observation time
- **5-day forecast** — daily min/max temperature, humidity range, wind speed, weather event in English
- **Location metadata** — province, plate number, district, latitude/longitude, elevation, station id

### Coverage

- All **81 provinces** (default: province centers)
- Turn on **Include district stations** for ~900+ district-level stations across Turkey

### Example item

```json
{
  "province": "Ankara",
  "provincePlate": 6,
  "district": "Keçiören",
  "latitude": 39.9727,
  "longitude": 32.8637,
  "current": { "temperatureC": 20.8, "event": "Clear", "humidityPct": 51, "windSpeedKmh": 22.7 },
  "forecast": [ { "date": "2026-08-15", "minTempC": 15, "maxTempC": 29, "event": "Scattered clouds" } ],
  "source": "MGM (Turkish State Meteorological Service)"
}
```

### Use cases

- Weather widgets and dashboards for Turkish audiences
- Travel & tourism apps (beach/sea temperature, resort forecasts)
- Logistics and field-work planning across provinces
- Energy demand modeling (heating/cooling degree inputs)
- Agriculture: district-level forecast monitoring

### Input

- **Provinces** — names or plate numbers; empty = all 81
- **Include current conditions** / **Include 5-day forecast** — toggle data blocks
- **Include district stations** — expand from 81 to ~900+ locations

### Why this actor

Global weather APIs interpolate Turkey from models. This actor returns **actual MGM station observations and official forecasts** — the national ground truth, updated continuously.

# Actor input Schema

## `provinces` (type: `array`):

Province names ("Istanbul", "Izmir") or plate numbers (34, 6). Leave empty to fetch ALL 81 provinces.

## `includeCurrent` (type: `boolean`):

Live observations: temperature, humidity, wind, pressure, sea temp, snow depth.

## `includeDailyForecast` (type: `boolean`):

Daily min/max temperature, humidity range, wind and weather event for the next 5 days.

## `includeDistricts` (type: `boolean`):

OFF = province centers only (fast, 81 locations max). ON = every district station (~900+ locations across Turkey).

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Apify Proxy (automatic) is recommended.

  ],
  "includeCurrent": true,
  "includeDailyForecast": true,
  "includeDistricts": false,
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": true
  }
}
