## Pricing

Pay per usage

This Actor is paid per platform usage. The Actor is free to use, and you only pay for the Apify platform usage, which gets cheaper the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Website Audit: SEO, SSL & Technical Health Score

A fast, browserless technical audit for any website. One run checks the homepage and supporting files, scores the site from 0 to 100, and returns a prioritized list of issues you can fix today.

Built for agencies, freelancers, SEOs and anyone who needs to assess a website before a redesign, migration or outreach.

### What is checked

| Area | Checks |
| --- | --- |
| Security | HTTPS in use, SSL certificate validity and days left, HSTS header |
| SEO basics | Title length, meta description length, single H1, canonical URL |
| Social & mobile | Open Graph tags, Twitter card, viewport meta, favicon, `lang` attribute |
| Structure | robots.txt, sitemap.xml (declared and reachable), JSON-LD structured data |
| Content quality | Image alt coverage, internal/external link counts |
| Health | Broken internal links (sampled), response time, page size, HTTP→HTTPS redirect |

Each check returns `pass`, `warn` or `fail` with a human-readable detail line — no guessing what a metric means.

### Output

- `score` — 0–100 weighted health score
- `grade` — A (90+), B (75+), C (55+), D (below)
- `issues` — failed and warning checks, most important first
- `checks` — every check with detail
- `metrics` — response time, page size, SSL days left, alt coverage, link counts, broken links

### Use cases

- **Client reports** — paste the issue list into your audit deliverable.
- **Sales** — run an audit on a prospect's site and show what you can fix.
- **Monitoring** — run on a schedule and get alerted when SSL expires or pages break.
- **Migrations** — compare scores before and after a redesign.

### Input example

```json
{
  "urls": ["apify.com", "stripe.com", "example.com"],
  "maxBrokenLinkChecks": 12,
  "concurrency": 4,
  "timeoutSecs": 20
}
```

### Output example

```json
{
  "url": "https://example.com/",
  "finalUrl": "https://example.com/",
  "statusCode": 200,
  "score": 71,
  "grade": "C",
  "issuesCount": 6,
  "failCount": 0,
  "warnCount": 6,
  "issues": [
    { "id": "meta-description", "status": "fail", "detail": "Meta description length: 0 characters" },
    { "id": "canonical", "status": "warn", "detail": "No canonical URL" }
  ],
  "metrics": {
    "responseMs": 412,
    "pageSizeKb": 1.2,
    "sslDaysLeft": 54,
    "altRatio": 100,
    "brokenLinks": 0
  }
}
```

### Notes

- No browser rendering: the audit measures what crawlers and users' first requests see, so it is fast and cheap.
- Broken-link checking samples up to *Broken link checks* internal links; set 0 to skip.
- Enable **Apify Proxy** for sites that block datacenter IPs.

# Actor input Schema

## `urls` (type: `array`):

Websites to audit. Full URLs or domains, one per line. Up to 200 per run.

## `maxBrokenLinkChecks` (type: `integer`):

How many internal links on the homepage to test for breakage. Set 0 to skip (faster runs).

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Optional. Enable Apify Proxy if target sites block datacenter IPs.

## `concurrency` (type: `integer`):

How many websites are audited in parallel.

## `timeoutSecs` (type: `integer`):

Timeout applied to each individual HTTP request.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "urls": [
    "apify.com",
    "stripe.com",
    "example.com"
  ],
  "maxBrokenLinkChecks": 12,
  "concurrency": 4,
  "timeoutSecs": 20
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `results` (type: `string`):

Dataset with one item per website: score, grade, issue list and all checks.

## `summary` (type: `string`):

Number of websites audited and finish time.

You can run this Actor programmatically using our API. Below are code examples in JavaScript, Python, and CLI, as well as the OpenAPI specification and MCP server setup.

## JavaScript example

```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
// Initialize the ApifyClient with your Apify API token
// Replace the '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' with your token
const client = new ApifyClient({
    token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>',
});
// Prepare Actor input
const input = {
    "urls": [
        "apify.com",
        "stripe.com",
        "example.com"
    ]
};
// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("gnom-tools/website-audit").call(input);
// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
console.log(`💾 Check your data here: https://console.apify.com/storage/datasets/${run.defaultDatasetId}`);
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
items.forEach((item) => {
