## Pricing

from $2.00 / 1,000 event scrapeds

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

# README

## Meetup Scraper

Find upcoming events by topic and city, with the numbers that tell you whether an event is worth attending or tracking. Each row has the date and time, how many people are going, the organising group, the venue and the ticket fee. No login and no API key.

### What it does

- **Search by topic and location** - one search per keyword, so add keywords or cities to widen the net.
- **Real attendance** - the going count, plus capacity where the organiser sets one.
- **Online or in person** - a clear flag, with venue details when there is a physical location.
- **Group context** - which group organises it and where they are based, useful for finding active communities.
- **Fees** - a plain free flag plus the amount and currency when a ticket is charged.
- **Free filter** - keep only free events in one switch.

Listings change daily as events are added and fill up, so schedule the run to track a topic or a city over time.

Common uses: community and event research, finding speaking or sponsorship opportunities, tracking active groups in a city, and building an events dataset.

### Input

| Field | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| `keywords` | array | Topics to find events for. One search per entry. |
| `location` | string | Location slug, for example `us--ny--new_york`. Empty for global. |
| `maxResultsPerKeyword` | integer | Cap per keyword. Default 40. |
| `onlyFree` | boolean | Keep only free events. Default false. |
| `proxyConfiguration` | object | Optional. Enable to spread requests across IPs. |

#### Example input

```json
{
  "keywords": ["python", "startup"],
  "location": "us--ny--new_york",
  "onlyFree": true
}
```

### Output

Each item is one event.

```json
{
  "id": "300000001",
  "title": "An Example Meetup",
  "description": "A short plain text summary of the event.",
  "dateTime": "2026-07-22T18:30:00-04:00",
  "endTime": null,
  "going": 125,
  "maxTickets": 150,
  "isOnline": false,
  "groupName": "Example Developers Group",
  "groupUrlname": "example-developers",
  "groupCity": "New York",
  "groupCountry": "us",
  "venueName": "Example Venue",
  "venueCity": "New York",
  "isFree": true,
  "fee": null,
  "feeCurrency": null,
  "url": "https://example.com/example-developers/events/300000001/"
}
```

Online events have no venue, and free events return `null` for the fee, so the shape is always the same.

### Notes

- No login and no API key. Set your keywords and run.
- The discovery feed returns a focused set of upcoming events per search, so use several keywords or locations when you want higher volume.
- Combine `onlyFree` with a city slug to build a list of free local events.

### Privacy

To improve our actors we collect anonymized usage telemetry (run stats and input patterns). No personal account data is collected.

# Actor input Schema

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

Topics to find events for. One search runs per entry, so add more keywords to get more events.

## `location` (type: `string`):

Location slug to search in, for example us--ny--new\_york or gb--london. Leave empty for a global search.

## `maxResultsPerKeyword` (type: `integer`):

Cap per keyword. The discovery feed returns a limited set per search, so add more keywords or locations for higher volume.

## `onlyFree` (type: `boolean`):

Skip events that charge a ticket fee.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Optional. Enable to spread requests across IPs on large runs.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "keywords": [
    "startup",
    "design"
  ],
  "location": "us--ny--new_york",
  "maxResultsPerKeyword": 40,
  "onlyFree": false,
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": false
  }
}
```
