## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Full Page Screenshot Pro: PNG, JPG, WebP and PDF

Capture clean screenshots of any list of web pages, from one URL to many thousands. Cookie banners are removed, lazy-loaded images are loaded, and you pay only for screenshots that succeed.

### What it does

- **Full page, viewport, fixed height or one element.** Capture the whole page, the top screen only, an exact height, or one element picked with a CSS selector.
- **PNG, JPG (quality setting), WebP or PDF.**
- **Device presets.** Desktop 1920, Laptop 1366, Tablet (iPad), iPhone and Pixel, or your own width and height. Mobile presets use a mobile user agent and touch emulation.
- **Retina (2x)** and **dark mode** (prefers-color-scheme: dark).
- **Cookie banners and consent pop-ups removed.** If a visible Accept button exists it is clicked, then common consent platforms and fixed cookie notices are hidden.
- **Sticky headers.** By default a top header appears once at the top of a full-page shot. Turn on *Hide sticky / fixed headers* to remove all fixed bars and chat widgets.
- **Lazy-loaded images.** The page is scrolled before capture, and the Actor waits up to a time you set for images to finish.
- **Emoji and Chinese, Japanese and Korean text** render properly, because colour emoji and CJK fonts are included.
- **One ZIP of everything**, optionally.

### Pricing

Pay only for screenshots that are saved:

| Event | What counts | Price |
|---|---|---|
| `viewport-screenshot` | Viewport, fixed-height or element capture | **USD 3.50 per 1,000** (USD 0.0035 each) |
| `full-page-screenshot` | Full-page capture (up to the height cap) or PDF | **USD 7.50 per 1,000** (USD 0.0075 each) |

You are **never charged for a failed page**: timeouts, DNS errors, HTTP 4xx/5xx, bot-challenge or block pages, and a missing selector cost nothing. A charge is made only after the file is saved.

### Input

| Field | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| `urls` | Pages to capture | required |
| `device` | `desktop`, `laptop`, `tablet`, `iphone`, `pixel`, `custom` | `desktop` |
| `customWidth` / `customHeight` | Size when device is `custom` | 1280 / 800 |
| `captureMode` | `fullPage`, `viewport`, `fixedHeight`, `element` | `fullPage` |
| `fixedHeight` | Height for `fixedHeight` mode | 1080 |
| `selector` | CSS selector for `element` mode | |
| `format` | `png`, `jpg`, `webp`, `pdf` | `jpg` |
| `jpegQuality` | 1 to 100 | 80 |
| `retina` | Device scale factor 2 | false |
| `darkMode` | Emulate dark colour scheme | false |
| `hideCookieBanners` | Remove consent pop-ups | true |
| `hideStickyHeaders` | Hide all fixed and sticky elements | false |
| `hideSelectors` | Extra CSS selectors to hide | \[] |
| `scrollToLoad` | Auto-scroll for lazy content | true |
| `lazyLoadWaitMs` | Max wait for images | 5000 |
| `waitUntil` / `delayMs` | `load`, `domcontentloaded` or `networkidle`, plus extra wait (ms) | `domcontentloaded` / 0 |
| `maxHeight` | Cut very long pages (CSS px) | 15000 |
| `createZip` | Save all files as one ZIP | false |
| `pageTimeoutSecs` | Per-page timeout | 60 |
| `blockHeavyResources` | Skip video, audio, live connections and common ad/tracker hosts | true |
| `maxConcurrency` | Pages captured in parallel | auto |
| `proxyConfiguration` | Optional Apify Proxy | off |

Example input:

```json
{ "urls": [{ "url": "<your page>" }], "device": "iphone", "format": "webp", "retina": true }
```

### Output

Each file is saved in the run's key-value store, and one dataset row is written per URL:

```json
{ "url": "...", "status": "success", "error": null, "fileKey": "screenshot-...", "fileUrl": "...",
  "format": "png", "width": 1920, "height": 8527, "deviceScaleFactor": 1, "device": "desktop",
  "captureMode": "fullPage", "truncated": false, "bytes": 1176443, "durationMs": 4909 }
```

`width` and `height` are CSS pixels; multiply by `deviceScaleFactor` for image pixels. Failed URLs have `status: "failed"` and an `error` message. With `createZip` on, the ZIP is saved under the key `all-screenshots`.

### Good to know

- WebP images can be at most 16,383 px tall (a limit of the format). Taller pages are cut and marked `truncated: true`. Use PNG or JPG for very long pages.
- PDF output is one tall page in screen styling. Element mode is not available for PDF.
- Clicking Accept on a cookie banner consents on that site for that run only. Turn `hideCookieBanners` off to keep the banner.
- Sites with strong bot protection may show a challenge page. When the site returns an error code it is reported as failed and not charged.
- Dark mode only changes sites that support a dark colour scheme.

Pages to capture.

## `device` (type: `string`):

Screen size and device to emulate. Mobile presets also set a mobile user agent and touch.

## `customWidth` (type: `integer`):

Used when Device is Custom.

Emulate prefers-color-scheme: dark. Only affects sites that support it.

## `retina` (type: `boolean`):

Render at device scale factor 2. Images are twice the width and height.

## `hideCookieBanners` (type: `boolean`):

Clicks a visible Accept button if one exists, then hides common consent platforms and fixed cookie notices.

## `hideStickyHeaders` (type: `boolean`):

Hide every fixed or sticky element (headers, chat widgets, bars). When off, a top header is kept once at the top of a full-page capture.

## `hideSelectors` (type: `array`):

Any other elements to hide before capture.

## `scrollToLoad` (type: `boolean`):

Scroll through the page first so lazy-loaded images and sections appear.
