## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Corporate Bond Issuance Tracker

**Corporate Bond Issuance Tracker** monitors **new investment grade, high yield, and convertible bond offerings** filed with the SEC. When a corporation issues new debt, they file a prospectus supplement (SEC form 424B2/B3/B4/B5) with key details — coupon, maturity, offering size, and underwriters. This actor extracts those filings in real time, giving fixed income traders and credit analysts a live view of primary market supply.

***

### Why use Corporate Bond Issuance Tracker?

1. **Primary market supply monitoring** — Track total IG and HY bond supply week by week to gauge credit market demand and spread compression/widening trends.
2. **Credit spread analysis** — New issuances price at spreads that reveal where the market actually prices credit risk — often more actionable than index-level CDS.
3. **Single-issuer alert** — Get notified when a company you track files a large bond offering, which may signal capital structure changes, M\&A financing, or refinancing of maturing debt.
4. **Fixed income deal flow database** — Build a historical database of new issuances by sector, rating, and coupon for quantitative credit research.
5. **Convertible arbitrage signals** — Convertible note issuances create delta-hedging pressure in the underlying stock. Track them to anticipate short interest from arb funds.

***

### How to use

1. Open the actor on Apify Store and click **Try for free**.
2. Set `daysBack` to define your lookback window (default: 30 days).
3. Optionally set `minSizeM` to filter for large deals only.
4. Enable `enrichDetails` to extract coupon rate, maturity year, and offering size from the prospectus text.
5. Click **Start**. Results are a list of bond issuances sorted by filing date.

### FAQ

**Does it capture all bond types — IG, HY, and converts?**
Yes — it searches for 424B2, 424B3, 424B4, and 424B5 forms, which cover the full range of public bond offerings. Private placements (144A) may not be captured unless they file with the SEC.

**How accurate is the offering size extraction?**
The extraction uses regex patterns on prospectus text. Most large issuances (>$500M) parse correctly. Complex tranched offerings may show only the lead tranche size.

**Why does `enrichDetails: true` cost more?**
Enrichment requires fetching the full prospectus document (often 20-100 pages) from SEC EDGAR to extract coupon, maturity, and sizing data. Without enrichment, only the filing metadata is returned.

**Can I track green bonds or ESG issuances?**
Use `searchTerm: "green bond"` or `"sustainability"` to filter prospectus text for ESG-labeled issuances.
