## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are a software tools running on the Apify platform, for all kinds of web data extraction and automation use cases.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

In JavaScript/TypeScript projects, use official [JavaScript/TypeScript client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js.md):

```bash
npm install apify-client
```

In Python projects, use official [Python client library](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python.md):

```bash
pip install apify-client
```

In shell scripts, use [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md):

````bash
# MacOS / Linux
curl -fsSL https://apify.com/install-cli.sh | bash
# Windows
irm https://apify.com/install-cli.ps1 | iex
```bash

In AI frameworks, you might use the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/platform/integrations/mcp.md).

If your project is in a different language, use the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

## 📷 Instagram Scraper — Profiles, Posts & Reels + Emails (No Login)

**One scraper for Instagram. Paste any mix of usernames, profile URLs or post/reel URLs — each input is auto-routed to the right surface (profile, posts, reels, or a single post/reel) and returned with the owner's email, phone, location and engagement parsed from the bio AND captions. No login, no cookies, no API key. From $1.20 per 1,000 results, pay only per result.**

*instagram scraper · scrape instagram · instagram profile scraper · instagram post scraper · instagram reels scraper · instagram email scraper · instagram lead generation · bulk instagram scraper · influencer scraper · instagram data export*

![Instagram Scraper — paste usernames or URLs in, get enriched, routed results out](https://api.apify.com/v2/key-value-stores/1ztQFHwG8acESTazI/records/instagram-scraper-hero.png)

Most Instagram scrapers do one thing and hand you raw content. This one **routes any input** — a handle, a profile URL, or a post/reel URL — to the right surface, and bundles the **owner's full contact + engagement on every row**. So a result isn't just data, it's a **contactable, outreach-ready lead**. Same proven engine across all surfaces: public endpoints over **rotating proxies with a fresh IP per request** (cheap datacenter first, residential fallback), reliable at scale with no session to break.

---

### 🎛 One tool, four surfaces

| Input you paste | What you get back (`type`) |
|---|---|
| `zachking`, `@natgeo`, a **profile URL** | The **profile** — bio, email, phone, location, links, socials, followers, engagement (`details`) |
| a profile + `resultsType: posts` | That profile's **posts**, each with caption contacts + owner enrichment |
| a profile + `resultsType: reels` | That profile's **reels** — views, audio, duration, video URL + owner enrichment |
| a **post or reel URL** (`/p/…`, `/reel/…`) | That **single post/reel** with exact likes/comments + the owner's contacts |

Every row — whatever the surface — carries the same top-level lead columns: **`type`, `account`, `lead_email`, `lead_phone`, `lead_followers`** — so a mixed run drops straight into one clean sheet.

---

### 📦 What it extracts

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `type`, `account`, `source` | What the row is (profile/post/reel), the handle it belongs to, and how it was found |
| `lead_email`, `lead_phone`, `lead_followers` | **Unified lead columns** present on every row — the owner's contact, no matter the surface |
| `url`, `shortcode`, `caption` | The post/reel and its full caption |
| `like_count`, `comment_count`, `view_count` | Engagement metrics (views for video/reels) |
| `video_url`, `video_duration`, `audio_title` | Reel-native fields — the downloadable video, length, and the audio/music track |
| `caption_emails`, `caption_phones`, `caption_hashtags`, `caption_mentions`, `caption_links` | **Contacts + tags parsed from the caption** (incl. obfuscated `name [at] domain` forms) — most scrapers miss this |
| `owner_email`, `owner_phone`, `owner_city`, `owner_country` | **The owner's contact data** parsed from the bio + business fields, on every content row |
| `owner_followers`, `owner_is_verified`, `owner_is_business`, `owner_business_category` | Owner trust + segmentation signals |
| `owner_engagement_rate`, `owner_engagement_tier` | **Computed**: engagement rate (%) + tier (nano/micro/macro/mega) for instant influencer vetting |
| `email`, `phone`, `biography`, `external_url`, `socials`, `engagement` | Full profile fields (on `details` rows) — classified social links + computed engagement, no second scraper needed |

Export everything to **CSV, Excel, JSON or via the API**, or grab the ready-made **CRM-ready CSV** from the key-value store.

### 🥇 Why this one

- **Four scrapers in one.** Profiles, posts, reels and single posts/reels by URL — paste a mixed list and each input auto-routes. No juggling separate actors.
- **Contacts on every row.** Email/phone/website parsed from the bio AND captions — the big Instagram scrapers return **content only**, forcing you to chain a separate profile scraper. We hand you "data + email" in a single result.
- **Computed engagement, not raw counts.** Engagement rate %, tier (nano→mega) — vet creator quality at a glance.
- **Uniform output.** Every surface shares the `type` / `account` / `lead_email` / `lead_phone` columns, so a mixed run is one clean sheet.
- **Works on the big accounts.** Routes through Instagram's dedicated endpoints so it returns content even for huge accounts whose profile page exposes no media. Private accounts and not-found inputs are clearly flagged, never silently skipped.
- **Real-time API (Standby).** Hit the actor's URL with `?input=X` and get routed results back as JSON in seconds — for CRM / outreach integrations.
- **Cheaper + pay-per-result.** **$1.20 / 1,000 results** flat — under the official scraper's per-result tiers — and you're never charged for blocked IPs or not-found inputs.

### 🚀 How to use it

1. Paste any mix of **usernames, profile URLs, or post/reel URLs** into `urls`.
2. For profile inputs, pick `resultsType`: **details** (the profile), **posts**, or **reels**.
3. Set `resultsLimit` (posts/reels per profile). Run it. Pull results as CSV / Excel / JSON or via the API.

```json
{
  "urls": [
    "zachking",
    "https://www.instagram.com/p/C6X1ZqGORvy/",
    "@natgeo"
  ],
  "resultsType": "details",
  "resultsLimit": 50
}
````

***

### 📤 What each row looks like

A profile (`details`) result and a single post result, trimmed (full output adds links, socials, dimensions, mentions & more):

```json
{
  "type": "profile",
  "account": "zachking",
  "lead_email": "hello@zachkingteam.com",
  "lead_followers": 30058397,
  "username": "zachking",
  "email": "hello@zachkingteam.com",
  "engagement": { "engagement_rate": 1.92, "avg_likes": 540000 }
}
{
  "type": "post",
  "account": "natgeo",
  "lead_followers": 280000000,
  "source": "single_media",
  "url": "https://www.instagram.com/p/C6X1ZqGORvy/",
  "like_count": 412903,
  "comment_count": 1840,
  "owner_engagement_tier": "mega"
}
```

### 👥 Who it's for

- **Agencies & founders** building creator/lead lists — handle, profile, or a specific post, with reach + engagement + contact in one row.
- **Influencer marketers** vetting real engagement (rate + tier) and grabbing contact emails before reaching out.
- **Sales & lead-gen teams** turning a mixed list of profiles and posts into contactable owners.
- **Trend & social teams** tracking which posts and reels (and audio tracks) are driving engagement.

### ❓ FAQ

**Do I need a login, cookies, or an API key?** No. It uses Instagram's public endpoints over rotating proxies — nothing to log in to.

**What inputs does it accept?** Usernames, @handles, profile URLs, post URLs (`/p/…`), and reel URLs (`/reel/…`). Mix them freely in one run — each is auto-detected and routed.

**Can it scrape a hashtag's posts?** Not in this actor — Instagram requires a logged-in session to enumerate a hashtag's posts, and we don't ship a half-working "no-login" hashtag surface. This scraper focuses on profiles, posts and reels, which work cleanly logged-out.

**What about private accounts?** Private profiles expose no public posts/reels, so they're returned with a clear `private` status instead of a silent empty result.

**Where do the emails/phones come from?** Only from **public** data — the owner's business contact fields, their bio, and captions (incl. obfuscated `name [at] domain` forms). Contact coverage is genuinely high for **small/local-business accounts** (the ones who publish a contact email/phone) and lower for large personal accounts — we never imply universal coverage. Content metrics and engagement are returned for **every** result regardless.

**Can I scrape in real time?** Yes — the actor exposes a real-time API (Standby): `GET ?input=<username, profile URL or post/reel URL>` returns routed results as JSON instantly.

**How much does it cost?** **$1.20 per 1,000 results**, billed per result (pay-per-event). You're charged only for results successfully returned — never for blocked or not-found inputs.

**Is scraping Instagram legal?** This actor only collects **publicly available** information that anyone can see without logging in. You're responsible for lawful use — comply with Instagram's Terms and data-protection / anti-spam laws (GDPR/CCPA, CAN-SPAM) for any outreach. When in doubt, seek legal advice.

# Actor input Schema

## `urls` (type: `array`):

One per line. Mix freely: bare handles (zachking), @handles, profile URLs, post URLs (instagram.com/p/...), or reel URLs (instagram.com/reel/...). Each is auto-detected and routed. Duplicates are removed.

## `resultsType` (type: `string`):

Only applies to username/profile inputs. Details = the profile (bio, contacts, stats — fastest). Posts = the profile's recent posts. Reels = the profile's reels. Post/reel URLs are self-describing and ignore this.

## `resultsLimit` (type: `integer`):

Upper limit of posts or reels to return per profile (Posts/Reels modes). Profile-details inputs return 1 row; a post/reel URL returns 1 row.

## `proxyType` (type: `string`):

Auto (recommended) tries cheap datacenter first and falls back to residential. Residential = most reliable. Datacenter = cheapest.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "urls": [
    "zachking",
    "https://www.instagram.com/p/C6X1ZqGORvy/",
    "@natgeo"
  ],
  "resultsType": "details",
  "resultsLimit": 50,
  "proxyType": "auto"
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `results` (type: `string`):

Each row is a profile, post, reel or hashtag result with the lead's email/phone/location/engagement and full context.

## `dataCsv` (type: `string`):

All scraped results as a CSV export — drop straight into Instantly, Smartlead or HubSpot.
