## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

### What this Actor does

Chrome Extension Change Monitor Scraper tracks public Chrome Web Store listings across runs. It compares each extension with its saved observations and reports changes to listing details, publisher information, privacy disclosures, permissions, and versions.

An extension that is removed is reported only when a previous listing exists and the public store returns a not-found response.

### Input

Provide `extensionIds`, public URLs in `startUrls`, or search terms in `queries`. Use `query` or `searchQuery` for one search term. `maxItems` limits extension records, `maxPages` limits listing pages, and `maxRequests` caps public page requests. `maxVersions` limits version-history entries kept per extension.

```json
{"extensionIds":["cjpalhdlnbpafiamejdnhcphjbkeiagm"],"maxItems":10,"maxVersions":20}
```

Use `snapshotRetention` to limit saved comparison histories. Set `resetSnapshots` to `true` to begin a new comparison history. Monitoring always reads extension detail pages because it needs them to compare changes.

See the Input tab for supported URL forms, search options, and locale settings.

### Dataset output

Each row contains the current public extension listing and its change status. Common fields include extension ID and URLs, title, description, category, developer and contact details, rating and user counts, version and update information, permissions, privacy disclosures, support links, media, related extensions, and version history.

`changeType`, `changedFields`, and `changeDetails` describe the detected differences. Previous and current values are provided where available.

```json
{
  "extensionId": "cjpalhdlnbpafiamejdnhcphjbkeiagm",
  "title": "Example Extension",
  "version": "2.1.0",
  "changeType": "changed",
  "changedFields": ["version", "updatedAtText"],
  "changeDetails": [
    {"field":"version","previousValue":"2.0.0","currentValue":"2.1.0"}
  ]
}
```

Optional values are included only when the public listing provides them. You can download dataset records in JSON, CSV, Excel, or another format supported by Apify. The run output includes the comparison summary and saved snapshots.

### Coverage and responsible use

Results reflect public Chrome Web Store listings at run time and only the pages allowed by the selected limits. The Actor does not log in, access private APIs, or infer unavailable facts. Follow Chrome Web Store terms and applicable laws when using the data.

Compatibility alias for the maximum number of monitored details.

## `maxDetailRequests` (type: `integer`):

Compatibility alias accepted from earlier actor inputs.

## `includeDetails` (type: `boolean`):

Compatibility flag; this monitor always reads detail pages because change detection requires them.

Delay between public page requests.

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

Bounded at one to keep public-source requests polite and deterministic.

## `maxRequestRetries` (type: `integer`):

Maximum extension snapshots retained in the Actor key-value store.

## `resetSnapshots` (type: `boolean`):

Clear prior local comparison state before this run.

## `page` (type: `integer`):
