## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

Collect public Google Play ebook and audiobook details from listing URLs or book IDs. This Actor reads individual detail pages rather than searching titles.

### Input

- **startUrls**: Public Google Play ebook or audiobook detail URLs.
- **bookIds**: Google Play ebook volume IDs.
- **maxItems**: Maximum book records to return.
- **page / maxPages**: Select and bound supplied detail pages.
- **proxyConfiguration**: Optional Apify Proxy settings for public requests.

### Dataset

Each record represents a book or audiobook and includes `bookId`, `title`, and `canonicalUrl`. Additional fields can include author and publisher, description, rating, price and discounts, availability, publication date, ISBNs, page count, language, genres, book format, cover image, sample availability, accessibility and reading features, content protection, seller, author biography, and related books.

Some fields are available only when Google Play displays them. Price notices and dates are preserved as shown; the Actor does not infer a missing year.

Run output provides a dataset link and summary.

### Responsible use

This Actor reads public Google Play Books information. Follow Google's terms, applicable law, and your data-protection obligations. This independent Actor is not affiliated with Google.

# Actor input Schema

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

Public HTTPS Google Play detail URLs. Only play.google.com/store/books/details and /store/audiobooks/details pages are accepted.

## `bookIds` (type: `array`):

Google Play ebook volume IDs. ID-only inputs are opened as book detail pages; provide audiobook detail URLs through startUrls.

## `queries` (type: `array`):

Legacy compatibility input; values are treated as Google Play ebook volume IDs, not title-search terms. Audiobook detail URLs belong in startUrls.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of book detail records to emit in this run.

## `page` (type: `integer`):

One-based offset into the supplied URL and ID list; this actor fetches detail pages rather than paginated search listings.

## `maxPages` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of book detail pages to fetch from the target list.

## `requestTimeoutSecs` (type: `integer`):

Maximum time for each bounded public detail-page request.

## `userAgent` (type: `string`):

Optional ordinary HTTP user-agent string. The Actor does not use stealth or browser-fingerprint evasion.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Optional Apify proxy configuration. Residential proxies are recommended for permitted Google requests subject to applicable terms.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "maxItems": 25,
  "page": 1,
  "maxPages": 25,
  "requestTimeoutSecs": 20
}
```
