## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

### What this Actor does

Google Play Data Safety Scraper collects the public Data safety disclosures shown on app listings and their Data safety pages. It reports what the developer declares about data sharing, collection, security practices, deletion requests, and privacy policies; it does not independently verify those claims.

### Input

Provide one or more Google Play package IDs, public app or Data safety URLs, or search terms. `maxApps` limits apps discovered or inspected, and `maxItems` limits dataset rows. Choose a two-letter `country` and `language`, or use a locale such as `en-IN`.

```json
{"appIds":["com.google.android.apps.maps","com.waze"],"country":"us","language":"en","maxApps":2}
```

```json
{"searchTerms":["maps","navigation"],"maxApps":5,"locale":"en-IN"}
```

```json
{"startUrls":[{"url":"https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.maps&hl=en&gl=US"}],"maxItems":1}
```

Search and category pagination is limited to the first source-visible page. Use the input tab for all supported URL aliases, locale settings, request limits, and optional Apify Proxy settings.

### Dataset output

The dataset contains one record per app, identified by `appId`. Common fields include:

| Field | What it contains |
| --- | --- |
| `title`, `developer`, `appUrl`, `dataSafetyUrl` | App and developer identity with public source links |
| `dataSharingStatus`, `sharedWithThirdParties` | Whether and how the listing describes sharing with third parties |
| `dataShared`, `sharedDataTypes`, `dataSharedPurposes` | Shared-data groups, types, and stated purposes |
| `dataCollected`, `collectedDataTypes`, `dataCollectedPurposes` | Collected-data groups, types, and stated purposes |
| `securityPractices`, `dataEncryptedInTransit`, `dataDeletionAvailable`, `independentSecurityReview` | Publicly disclosed security and deletion practices |
| `dataSharedGroupCount`, `dataCollectedItemCount`, and related counts | Counts derived from the visible disclosure |
| `country`, `language`, `locale` | Market and language used for the source page |

Nested disclosure objects preserve the categories and details visible on Google Play. Optional values may be absent when the listing does not show them. Unknown claims are not treated as false, and the captured disclosure can vary by app version, use, region, and age.

Example:

```json
{
  "appId": "com.google.android.apps.maps",
  "title": "Google Maps",
  "dataSafetyUrl": "https://play.google.com/store/apps/datasafety?id=com.google.android.apps.maps",
  "dataSharingStatus": "some data may be shared",
  "sharedDataTypes": ["Location"],
  "collectedDataTypes": ["Location", "Personal info"],
  "dataEncryptedInTransit": true,
  "dataDeletionAvailable": true,
  "country": "us",
  "language": "en"
}
```

Download results from the dataset in JSON, CSV, Excel, or another format supported by Apify. The run page also provides a summary and health information.

### Coverage and responsible use

The Actor reads public Google Play pages and does not access Play Console or private app data. A missing disclosure field means the page did not provide a usable value; it does not prove that a practice is absent. Use results as a snapshot of the public declaration for the selected market and follow Google Play's terms and applicable privacy laws.
