## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

### What this Actor does

Google Play Price History Scraper records the public price and listing details currently shown for Android apps. It can also build a history of price observations across scheduled runs. It does not reconstruct prices from before the first observation.

Each dataset row is an app snapshot. `observedAt` records when the listing was checked, while `updatedAt` is the calendar date displayed by Google Play.

### Input

Provide one or more app package IDs, public app URLs, or a public Google Play search URL. Choose the country and language for the listing, then set limits such as `maxApps` and `maxItems`.

```json
{"appId":"com.google.android.apps.maps","country":"US","language":"en"}
```

```json
{"appIds":["com.google.android.apps.maps","com.google.android.youtube"],"maxItems":20}
```

```json
{"startUrls":[{"url":"https://play.google.com/store/search?q=maps&c=apps&hl=en&gl=US"}],"maxApps":10,"locale":"en-US"}
```

| Input | Description | Default |
|---|---|---:|
| `appId` / `appIds` | One or more Android package IDs. | — |
| `startUrls` | Public app, search, or category pages. `sourceUrls`, `urls`, and `url` are aliases. | — |
| `maxApps` | Maximum apps discovered from search or category sources (1–100). | 20 |
| `maxTargets` | Maximum source workflows (1–50). | 10 |
| `maxItems` | Maximum app snapshot records (1–500). `maxResults` is an alias. | 100 |
| `deduplicate` | Avoid recording the same app more than once in a run. | `true` |
| `locale` / `language` / `country` | Select the Google Play storefront and language. | `en-US` / `en` / `US` |
| `historyStoreName` | Reuse the same named store to retain observations across scheduled runs. Omit it to keep history within the current run. | — |
| `proxyConfiguration` | Optional Apify Proxy configuration for public listing pages. | — |

Search and category sources use their first public results page. `page` and `maxPages` are fixed at `1`.

### Dataset output

Useful fields include:

| Field | What it contains |
| --- | --- |
| `appId`, `title`, `developer`, `appUrl`, `appCategory` | App identity and public listing details |
| `priceStatus`, `priceAmount`, `priceText`, `currency`, `isFree` | Price state visible on the listing, when available |
| `rating`, `ratingText`, `ratingCount`, `ratingBreakdown` | Public rating signals |
| `downloadCount`, `downloadCountText`, `downloadCountIsApproximate` | Install count and whether the displayed value is approximate |
| `updatedAt`, `updatedText`, `whatsNew` | Update date and visible release notes |
| `description`, `descriptionHtml`, `featureHighlights` | Full listing description and public feature information |
| `screenshots`, `appIconUrl`, `contentRating`, `dataSafety` | Other public listing details, when available |
| `observedAt`, `locale`, `country` | Snapshot time and selected market |

A record can look like this:

```json
{
  "appId": "com.example.premium",
  "title": "Premium Utility",
  "priceStatus": "paid",
  "priceAmount": 2.99,
  "priceText": "$2.99",
  "currency": "USD",
  "downloadCountText": "1M+",
  "downloadCountIsApproximate": true,
  "observedAt": "2026-09-24T10:30:00.000Z",
  "locale": "en-US",
  "country": "US"
}
```

Google Play may show compact rating and install values; the original display text and approximation indicator are retained when applicable. Unavailable values remain empty rather than being inferred. Dataset results can be downloaded in JSON, CSV, Excel, or other formats supported by Apify.

### Coverage and responsible use

The Actor reads public Google Play pages for the selected market. Search and category discovery is limited to the first public results page, and a run only records data visible at the time it runs. Use the captured information in accordance with Google Play's terms and applicable laws.
