## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

Collect public product information and individual reviews from Google Shopping. Dataset items are labeled as either `product` or `review` using `entityType`. A product record is included only when the source also provides at least one usable individual review; search cards without reviews do not produce dataset records.

The Actor reads public Google Shopping pages. It does not open merchant websites or collect private account data.

### How to use

1. Enter product searches, Google Shopping product URLs, product IDs, or Shopping URLs in `startUrls`.
2. Choose the country and language.
3. Set the maximum number of products and reviews per product.
4. Run the Actor and view or export the product and review records.

Example:

```json
{
  "queries": ["wireless headphones"],
  "maxItems": 10,
  "maxReviewsPerProduct": 5,
  "countryCode": "us",
  "languageCode": "en"
}
```

### Input

| Input | Description | Default |
|---|---|---:|
| `queries` / `query` | Product search terms. | — |
| `productUrls` | Public Google Shopping product-page URLs. | — |
| `productIds` | Google Shopping product identifiers. | — |
| `startUrls` | Google Shopping search or product URLs. These are processed before the other input sources. | — |
| `maxItems` | Maximum product records across the run. | 10 |
| `maxReviewsPerProduct` | Maximum individual reviews retained per product. Review rows are additional to product rows. | 10 |
| `page` / `maxPages` | Search page settings. This source currently supports page 1 only. | 1 / 1 |
| `countryCode` / `languageCode` | Country and language for Shopping results. | `us` / `en` |
| `renderJavaScript` | Use a standard browser to open product details and expand visible reviews. | `true` |
| `proxyConfiguration` | Optional proxy configuration for public requests. | — |

### Output

The dataset contains product records and individual review records:

- **Product record:** title, brand, description, product and merchant links, price and offers, availability, variants, images, aggregate rating, and review distribution.
- **Review record:** product identity, public reviewer name when shown, rating, displayed date, title, full review text, review source, and helpful count.

Product information may include price insights, public product attributes, review insights, and source-displayed highlights. Individual review text and public reviewer details are collected when shown. Relative dates stay in the wording provided by Google; the Actor does not estimate a calendar date. Missing facts are not guessed.

Example product record:

```json
{
  "entityType": "product",
  "productId": "PC_EXAMPLE_01",
  "productTitle": "Example wireless headphones",
  "brand": "Example Audio",
  "productUrl": "https://www.google.com/shopping/product/example",
  "productRating": 4.6,
  "reviewCount": 16893,
  "primaryOfferPrice": 129.99,
  "primaryOfferCurrency": "USD",
  "primaryMerchantName": "Example Store",
  "availabilityText": "In stock online",
  "offers": [
    {
      "merchantName": "Example Store",
      "priceText": "$129.99",
      "deliveryText": "Free delivery"
    }
  ]
}
```

Example review record:

```json
{
  "entityType": "review",
  "productId": "PC_EXAMPLE_01",
  "productTitle": "Example wireless headphones",
  "reviewerName": "Example Reviewer",
  "reviewRating": 5,
  "reviewDateText": "7 months ago",
  "reviewTitle": "Comfortable for long listening",
  "reviewText": "The fit is comfortable and the battery lasts through my commute.",
  "reviewSource": "Reviewed on example.com"
}
```

The Output tab shows the available result fields. Run summary information is available with the run output in Apify.

### Limits and responsible use

Review availability depends on the product, country, and public page. Search pages currently provide one supported result page, and results may be limited by Google. The Actor does not sign in or bypass access checks.

This Actor collects review text and public reviewer details when displayed. Use them responsibly and follow applicable privacy requirements and Google terms. This Actor is not affiliated with Google.

# Actor input Schema

## `queries` (type: `array`):

Product search terms. Each query can produce up to maxItems product records across the run.

## `query` (type: `string`):

A single product search term. Use queries for multiple terms.

## `productUrls` (type: `array`):

Public Google Shopping product-page URLs. Google-generated Shopping search links with a #sv= viewer fragment are accepted intact; legacy ID-only pages may be unavailable.

## `productIds` (type: `array`):

Google Shopping product identifiers copied from a public product page. IDs are not generated when the page does not expose one.

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

Google Shopping search or product URLs. These are processed before query and product URL inputs; duplicate targets are removed.

## `countryCode` (type: `string`):

Two-letter Google country parameter used for generated search URLs and currency interpretation.

## `languageCode` (type: `string`):

Google language parameter, such as en or en-us.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Maximum product business records across all search sources. Review records are additionally limited by maxReviewsPerProduct.

## `maxReviewsPerProduct` (type: `integer`):

Maximum public individual review records retained for each product.

## `page` (type: `integer`):

Google did not expose a stable page cursor in the inspected Shopping feed. This source currently supports page 1 only.

## `maxPages` (type: `integer`):

Google did not expose a stable page cursor in the inspected Shopping feed. This source currently supports one page per search target.

## `renderJavaScript` (type: `boolean`):

Use ordinary Chromium page rendering to open public product viewers and expand visible reviews. If Google presents an access boundary, the Actor stops that target.

## `timeoutMs` (type: `integer`):

Maximum time for each direct request or browser navigation.

## `browserWaitMs` (type: `integer`):

Bounded wait for public product details to render after navigation or opening a product viewer.

## `maxRetries` (type: `integer`):

Additional direct HTTP attempts for transient failures. Access boundaries are never retried.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Optional proxy routing for both HTTP and ordinary Chromium requests. Residential groups may be selected when enabled. GOOGLE_SERP requires renderJavaScript=false and supplies static public pages.
