## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## SEC EDGAR Filings Feed: 8-K, 10-K, 10-Q, Form 4, Form D, S-1

### For AI agents and developers

Agent-ready docs, pricing, an OpenAPI spec and example calls for this tool live on [Gouda Studios Agent Tools](https://gouda-studios-agent-tools.vercel.app/tools/sec-edgar-filings-feed/). The full catalog is at [gouda-studios-agent-tools.vercel.app](https://gouda-studios-agent-tools.vercel.app) and [llms.txt](https://gouda-studios-agent-tools.vercel.app/llms.txt).

### Who uses it

- Investors and analysts watching 8-Ks and insider Form 4s for a watchlist
- AI research agents that need "what did company X file this week" as JSON
- Deal, IR and compliance teams tracking Form D raises, S-1s and 13D stakes

### Output (one row per filing)

companyName, cik, tickers, sic, sicDescription, form, filingDate, reportDate, acceptedAt, accessionNumber, items (8-K item codes), description, isXBRL, documentUrl, indexUrl

### Pricing

Pay per event: **$0.002 per filing row ($2 per 1,000)**. No platform usage is added on top, and you are never charged for rows you don't get. Set `maxResults` to cap your spend.

### For AI agents

- Call through the Apify API, the Apify MCP server (mcp.apify.com), or agentic payments (x402 / MPP prepaid token, Skyfire). No Apify account is required for agentic payments.
- Runs with **limited permissions** and no Standby. It only touches its own storages.
- Returns SEC EDGAR filings as one JSON row per filing, from official sec.gov / data.sec.gov endpoints. With tickers or CIKs it reads each company's filing history; with neither it returns the latest market-wide filings of the chosen form types. Example: {"tickers":\["AAPL","TSLA"],"formTypes":\["8-K","10-Q"],"filedWithinDays":30}. Pricing: $0.002 per filing row.
- Every input is optional except what you need to define the search. Unknown names or IDs are logged and skipped; the run still succeeds.
- Output is a flat JSON dataset; read it with `GET /v2/datasets/{datasetId}/items?format=json`. `RUN_SUMMARY` in the key-value store gives the row count.

### Data source

Official SEC endpoints: data.sec.gov submissions API, sec.gov company_tickers.json and the EDGAR latest-filings Atom feed. The Actor sends a declared User-Agent and stays well under the SEC 10 requests/second fair-access limit.

Public government/regulatory data provided as-is. Not affiliated with the data publisher. Check the original record (link in each row) before relying on it.

# Actor input Schema

## `tickers` (type: `array`):

Optional stock tickers, e.g. \["AAPL","NVDA"]. Resolved to CIKs with the SEC ticker file.

## `ciks` (type: `array`):

Optional SEC Central Index Keys, e.g. \["320193"]. Leave tickers and CIKs empty to get latest filings across all companies.

## `formTypes` (type: `array`):

Form types to include, e.g. \["8-K","10-K","10-Q","4","D","S-1","13F-HR","SC 13D"]. Empty = all forms (company mode only; market-wide mode needs at least one).

## `filedWithinDays` (type: `integer`):

Only filings from the last N days. 0 = no limit (company mode returns the ~1000 most recent).

## `onlyNew` (type: `boolean`):

true = skip filings delivered by an earlier run with the same tickers/CIKs/forms. Use with a schedule for an alert feed.

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

Maximum rows (1-5000). You pay per row, so this caps cost: 100 rows = $0.20.

## `contactEmail` (type: `string`):

Optional. SEC asks automated clients to identify themselves; this email is sent in the User-Agent header to sec.gov only.
