## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Historical Funding Explorer

Retrieve historical funding-rate observations for an asset and contract type. Export timestamped exchange-level records as JSON for market comparison and reporting.

### What this Actor does

Compare historical funding observations across the exchanges present in each response. Exchange coverage can differ between timestamps.

### Input

| Field | Type | Required | Description |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `baseCoin` | string | Yes | Asset symbol. The verified example uses `BTC`. |
| `exchangeType` | string | Yes | Contract-type selector. The verified example uses `USDT`. |
| `endTime` | string | Yes | End timestamp in Unix milliseconds, supplied as a string. The example is a fixed historical time, not a request for the latest data. |
| `size` | string | Yes | Requested history size, supplied as a string. The verified example uses `10`; returned coverage and grouping may affect the number of rows. |

#### Example input

```json
{
  "baseCoin": "BTC",
  "endTime": "1789544653328",
  "exchangeType": "USDT",
  "size": "10"
}
```

Use the verified example to understand the input structure. Update the time and selectors for your query. Supported market coverage depends on the selected parameters; unsupported combinations can return empty data or errors.

### Output

The response includes `code`, `success`, `data` and, when present, `ext`. Each observed data entry contains `ts` and exchange-keyed `details`. Exchange details include `fundingRate`; some also include `realizedRate`. `ext.columns` identifies the returned exchange columns.

#### Example output

This is an abbreviated historical response, not a current market quote. Additional rows and fields may be present.

```json
{
  "code": "1",
  "success": true,
  "data": [
    {
      "ts": 1789516800000,
      "details": {
        "Binance": {
          "fundingRate": 3.951e-05
        }
      }
    }
  ]
}
```

A successful run saves its JSON result under `OUTPUT` and in the default dataset. Open the Output tab to inspect the result and timestamps.

### Pricing

One request event is $0.05. Review the current Pricing panel and set a maximum run charge that covers the listed event. Check any platform usage displayed before starting.

### How to run

1. Review the input and historical example.
2. Confirm the current price and run budget.
3. Start one run and wait for its final status.
4. Open Output and inspect the response status, timestamps and available fields.

### Scope and troubleshooting

Each run performs one data query. Data availability and freshness vary by market and query parameters. This Actor does not execute trades, move funds or maintain a live subscription.

If a run fails, retain its Run ID and inspect the status and log. Review the input before starting another run. For support, open an Actor Issue with the Run ID and sanitized input; omit credentials and private keys. Financial data is informational, not investment advice.

# API

You can run this Actor programmatically using our API. Below are code examples in JavaScript, Python, and CLI, as well as the OpenAPI specification and MCP server setup.

## JavaScript example

```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
// Initialize the ApifyClient with your Apify API token
// Replace the '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' with your token
const client = new ApifyClient({
    token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>',
});
// Prepare Actor input
const input = {
    "baseCoin": "BTC",
    "exchangeType": "USDT",
    "endTime": "1789544653328",
    "size": "10"
};
// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("grasstech/data-5335b3a5").call(input);
// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
console.log(`💾 Check your data here: https://console.apify.com/storage/datasets/${run.defaultDatasetId}`);
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
items.forEach((item) => {
    console.dir(item);
});
