## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Workday Jobs Scraper

Scrape job postings from **any Workday career site** (`*.myworkdayjobs.com` or `*.myworkdaysite.com`). You get the title, the requisition ID, the location and extra locations, the remote type, the posted date, the full description (as text and HTML) and a direct apply URL. Thousands of large employers use Workday for hiring, including Salesforce, Workday itself and many Fortune 500 companies.

- ⚡ **Fast and light:** it reads the same public JSON that the career site loads in your browser. There's no headless browser, no login and no proxy. About 100 jobs with full descriptions take under a minute.
- 🏢 **Many companies in one run:** paste as many career-site URLs as you want. A broken URL is reported and skipped, and the run keeps going.
- 🔎 **Keyword and recency filters:** `searchText` uses Workday's own search, and `postedWithinDays` keeps only fresh postings. That makes it easy to schedule a daily or weekly "new jobs" feed.
- 💸 **Pay only for results:** $1 per 1,000 jobs. You're never charged for errors or empty runs.

### Use cases

- **Job boards and aggregators:** keep listings from hundreds of Workday employers up to date.
- **Recruiting and staffing agencies:** spot new openings at target accounts before competitors do.
- **Sales intelligence:** use hiring as a buying signal (for example, "company X is hiring 12 data engineers").
- **Labor-market research:** track roles, locations and remote/hybrid mix over time.

### How to find a career-site URL

Open the company's "Careers" page and click through to the job list. If the address looks like
`https://<company>.wd<N>.myworkdayjobs.com/<SiteName>` (optionally with `/en-US/`), copy it as is. Examples:

- `https://workday.wd5.myworkdayjobs.com/Workday`
- `https://salesforce.wd12.myworkdayjobs.com/External_Career_Site`

### Input

| Field | Type | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| `careerSiteUrls` | array of URLs | – (required) | One or more Workday career-site URLs. |
| `searchText` | string | empty | Keyword search, the same as the site's search box (for example, `engineer`). |
| `maxJobsPerSite` | integer | 100 (max 2000) | Upper limit on jobs saved per career site. |
| `postedWithinDays` | integer | 0 = any | Keep only jobs posted within N days (1–30). |
| `includeDescription` | boolean | true | Fetch each job's full description and details. Turn it off for a faster, list-only run. |
| `requestIntervalMs` | integer | 300 | Minimum delay between requests to the same host. |

Example:

```json
{
  "careerSiteUrls": [
    "https://salesforce.wd12.myworkdayjobs.com/External_Career_Site",
    "https://workday.wd5.myworkdayjobs.com/Workday"
  ],
  "searchText": "engineer",
  "maxJobsPerSite": 200,
  "postedWithinDays": 7
}
```

### Output

Each dataset item is one job posting. You can export it as JSON, CSV, Excel or HTML, or read it through the Apify API. Here is a real sample item (descriptions shortened):

```json
{
  "title": "Managing Partner - Platform EMEA",
  "jobReqId": "JR-0111107",
  "company": "Workday GmbH (Euro)",
  "legalEntity": "Workday GmbH (Euro)",
  "tenant": "workday",
  "careerSite": "Workday",
  "location": "Germany, Munich",
  "additionalLocations": [
    "Germany, Berlin"
  ],
  "country": "Germany",
  "countryCode": "DE",
  "remoteType": "Flex",
  "timeType": "Full Time",
  "postedOn": "Posted Today",
  "postedDaysAgo": 0,
  "startDate": "2026-10-28",
  "endDate": null,
  "url": "https://workday.wd5.myworkdayjobs.com/Workday/job/Germany-Munich/Managing-Partner---Platform-EMEA_JR-0111107",
  "descriptionText": "Your work days are brighter here.\n\nWe’re obsessed with making hard work pay off, for our people, our customers, and the world around us. As a Fortune 500 compan…",
  "descriptionHtml": "<p><b>Your work days are brighter here.</b></p><br /><p>We’re obsessed with making hard wo…",
  "scrapedAt": "2026-10-28T12:48:15.960Z"
}
```

| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| `company` | The hiring entity, with Workday's internal numeric prefix removed (`100 Salesforce, Inc.` becomes `Salesforce, Inc.`). |
| `legalEntity` | The raw hiring-organization name, exactly as Workday gives it. |
| `postedOn` / `postedDaysAgo` | Workday shows relative dates ("Posted 3 Days Ago", "Posted 30+ Days Ago"). `postedDaysAgo` is the parsed number (30 means "30 or more"). |
| `startDate` / `endDate` | The posting's start date and its closing date, when the employer sets one. |
| `remoteType` | Remote, Hybrid, Flex or On-site, when the employer sets it. |

A per-site summary (jobs saved, total matching on the site, and any errors) is stored in the key-value store under the `RUN_SUMMARY` key.

### Pricing (pay per event)

| Event | Price |
|---|---|
| Job scraped (`job`) | **$0.001** (that is, $1 per 1,000 jobs) |

You pay only for job postings that are saved to your dataset. If you set a maximum charge for the run, the Actor stops cleanly once that budget is used up.

### Limits and tips

- Workday's list API returns 20 jobs per page, and each full description is one extra request. That works out to about 100 jobs with descriptions in 30–60 seconds. Turn off `includeDescription` for list-only speed.
- Posting dates are only as precise as Workday's relative labels. Anything older than about a month is shown as "30+ days".
- If a URL gets HTTP 422, the site name in the URL is wrong. Open the company's careers page and copy the URL from your browser's address bar.
- The Actor reads only publicly published job postings. It doesn't log in, and it doesn't collect applicant or other personal data. You're responsible for using the data in line with the source site's terms and the laws that apply to you.
- Coverage: a small number of locations are not supported. Jobs located there are skipped (never charged).

### FAQ

**Which companies does it work with?**
Any company whose careers page runs on Workday (URLs like `https://<company>.wd5.myworkdayjobs.com/<site>`). Paste the job-list URL from your browser.

**What if I paste the same career site twice?**
It is scraped once, and the duplicate is noted in the run summary. A job is never saved or charged twice in one run.

**Why did a site fail with HTTP 404 or 422?**
The site name in the URL is usually wrong. Copy it again from the browser address bar on the job list. The other sites in the run still finish.

**Can I get only new jobs?**
Yes. Set `postedWithinDays` (for example 1 or 7) and schedule the Actor daily or weekly.

### Support

Found a career site that doesn't work? Open an issue on the Actor's **Issues** tab and include the URL. Fixes usually ship within 48 hours.

# Actor input Schema

## `careerSiteUrls` (type: `array`):

Public Workday career-site URLs, e.g. https://workday.wd5.myworkdayjobs.com/Workday or https://salesforce.wd12.myworkdayjobs.com/External_Career_Site. Open the company's careers page and copy the URL once it shows myworkdayjobs.com.

## `searchText` (type: `string`):

Optional keyword search applied on each site (same as the site's search box). Leave empty for all jobs.

## `maxJobsPerSite` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many jobs per career site.

## `postedWithinDays` (type: `integer`):

Only keep jobs posted within this many days (based on Workday's 'Posted N Days Ago'). 0 = no filter. Note: Workday shows '30+ Days Ago' for everything older than 30 days.

## `includeDescription` (type: `boolean`):

Fetch each job's detail page to add the full description, exact start/end date, country and hiring entity. Turn off for a faster list-only scrape.

## `requestIntervalMs` (type: `integer`):

Minimum delay between requests to the same Workday host. Keep at 300 or higher to stay polite.
