## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

### Jobs API: fresh jobs from company career pages (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday & more)

Get every open job straight from employers' own career pages: no reposts, no expired listings, and no aggregator middlemen. Paste career page URLs, company domains (`stripe.com`) or just company names (`Hugging Face`), and get one clean, normalized dataset with title, department, location, normalized remote type, salary range, seniority, publish date and the full description.

It supports **11 applicant tracking systems (ATSs)**: Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday, Workable, SmartRecruiters, Recruitee, BambooHR, Personio, JazzHR and Breezy HR. Data comes from each ATS's public job-board feed, the same one that powers the company's careers page. There's no headless browser, no login and no proxies, so runs are fast and cheap.

#### Why this Jobs API

- **Fresh**: jobs are read live from the employer's ATS on every run, so closed jobs disappear and new ones appear the same day. Schedule it daily with **Only new jobs** to get just the new postings.
- **Coverage**: 11 ATSs in one schema, including **Workday** (used by many large enterprises) and European favorites such as Personio and Recruitee.
- **Company discovery**: you don't need to know which ATS a company uses. Enter `datadog`, `Open AI` or `stripe.com` and the Actor finds the board. Domains are scanned for career-page links and embeds, and names are matched against every supported ATS (the board with the most open jobs wins).
- **Salary data**: structured pay ranges where the ATS provides them, plus ranges parsed from the posting text (common in US pay-transparency postings): `salaryMin`, `salaryMax`, `salaryCurrency`, `salaryInterval`, `hasSalary`.
- **Normalized fields**: `remoteType` (remote / hybrid / onsite), `seniority` (intern → executive), and ISO dates.
- **Filters that run before you pay**: keywords (title or description), excluded words, locations, workplace type, departments, posted since / within N days, salary only. Filtered-out jobs are free.
- **Dedupe**: repeated multi-location postings and duplicate boards are removed automatically.

#### Supported sources

| ATS | Paste any of these |
| --- | --- |
| Greenhouse | `https://boards.greenhouse.io/airbnb`, `job-boards.greenhouse.io/discord`, `greenhouse:stripe` |
| Lever (incl. EU) | `https://jobs.lever.co/spotify`, `lever:palantir` |
| Ashby | `https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/ramp`, `ashby:openai` |
| Workday | `https://nvidia.wd5.myworkdayjobs.com/NVIDIAExternalCareerSite` (paste the career site URL) |
| Workable | `https://apply.workable.com/huggingface` |
| SmartRecruiters | `https://careers.smartrecruiters.com/Wise` |
| Recruitee | `https://bunq.recruitee.com` |
| BambooHR | `https://maropost.bamboohr.com/careers` |
| Personio | `https://acme.jobs.personio.de` |
| JazzHR | `https://naturesway.applytojob.com/apply` |
| Breezy HR | `https://acme.breezy.hr` |
| Don't know? | `stripe.com`, `Datadog`, `Open AI`: auto-discovered |

#### Use cases

- **Job boards and aggregators**: fill a niche board (AI, climate, remote, salary-transparent jobs) with fresh, first-party postings from hundreds of employers.
- **Job alerts**: schedule daily runs with **Only new jobs** plus an email, Slack or webhook integration.
- **Sales and recruiting intelligence**: hiring is a buying signal. Track which target accounts are hiring for "Salesforce", "data engineer" or "SOC 2" roles, using description keyword matching.
- **Compensation and labor-market research**: compare salary bands, seniority, departments and remote policies across companies.
- **AI agents and RAG**: feed clean plain-text job descriptions to LLM pipelines.

Download results as JSON, CSV, Excel or XML, or pull them through the Apify API. Fields a source doesn't provide are `null`, so every record has the same columns.

##### Output fields

| Field | Description |
| --- | --- |
| `source` | ATS name |
| `companySlug`, `companyName` | Board identifier and company name (when the ATS provides it) |
| `jobId` | The ATS's own job ID (stable across runs, good for de-duplication) |
| `title`, `department`, `team` | Role info |
| `seniority` | intern, junior, mid, senior, lead, staff/principal, manager, director, vp, executive (from the title) |
| `location`, `allLocations`, `country` | Primary location plus all listed locations |
| `remoteType`, `isRemote`, `workplaceType` | Normalized remote / hybrid / onsite, a remote flag, and the ATS's raw workplace value |
| `employmentType` | Full-time, part-time, contract, … |
| `salaryMin`, `salaryMax`, `salaryCurrency`, `salaryInterval`, `salaryText`, `hasSalary`, `salarySource` | Pay range when published or stated in the posting |
| `publishedAt`, `updatedAt` | ISO 8601 timestamps |
| `jobUrl`, `applyUrl` | Links to the posting and the application form |
| `descriptionText` | Full description as plain text (`descriptionHtml` too if you enable it) |
| `companyInput`, `discoveredVia` | Which input produced the job and how its board was found |
| `scrapedAt` | When this run collected the job |

A `SUMMARY` record in the key-value store lists every input with its status (ok / not\_found / duplicate), the board found, open jobs, matched jobs and saved jobs.

#### Pricing

Pay per job saved to your dataset, with no start fee. See the Pricing tab for the current price. Filters run before charging, so jobs you filter out are free. Set **Maximum cost per run** in the run options to cap spend; the Actor stops cleanly at the cap.

#### How to monitor companies for new jobs

1. Add your watchlist to **Companies** and turn on **Only new jobs since last run**.
2. Give the watchlist a **Monitoring state key** (e.g. `ai-startups`).
3. Create a **Schedule** in Apify Console (for example, daily at 8:00).
4. Add an integration (Slack, email, Google Sheets, Zapier, Make or a webhook) to receive each day's new jobs.

The first run returns all matching jobs, and later runs return only jobs not seen before.

#### FAQ

**How does company discovery work?**
For a domain, the Actor reads the company's homepage and careers pages and looks for links to, or embeds of, a supported ATS. If the careers page is custom-built, it tries the brand name against each ATS. For a name, it tries slug variations (`huggingface`, `hugging-face`, …) against every ATS and picks the board with the most open jobs. Check `discoveredVia` and `companyName`. For an exact match, paste the career page URL.

**Workday?**
Paste the career site URL (for example `https://company.wd5.myworkdayjobs.com/External`). Workday boards can't be guessed from a name. Workday shows at most 2,000 jobs per search, so for very large employers use keywords. They're sent to Workday's own search, which is faster and reaches beyond the first 2,000.

**Why is `companyName` empty for some sources?**
Lever's and Ashby's public feeds don't include the company name. `companySlug` and `companyInput` are always filled in.

**Why don't I see salary data?**
Salary appears only when the employer publishes it in the ATS or states a pay range in the posting. US postings in pay-transparency states usually include it. `salarySource` tells you where it came from.

**Is this legal?**
The Actor reads only job postings that companies publish publicly through their ATS's public job-board feed or careers page. It doesn't log in, bypass access controls or collect candidate or employee data, and it sends requests at a modest rate. You're responsible for how you use the data, including any terms the source companies apply.

**How fast is it?**
Most boards return in 1–3 seconds. Hundreds of companies take a few minutes. Workday, SmartRecruiters, BambooHR, JazzHR and Breezy need one extra request per job for descriptions, so turn off **Include job description** for the fastest runs.

**Something broke or a source is missing?**
Open an issue on the Issues tab with the board URL. Issues are usually fixed within 1–2 days.

# Actor input Schema

## `companies` (type: `array`):

One per line. Mix and match: a career page URL (boards.greenhouse.io/airbnb, jobs.lever.co/palantir, jobs.ashbyhq.com/ramp, apply.workable.com/huggingface, careers.smartrecruiters.com/Wise, bunq.recruitee.com, nvidia.wd5.myworkdayjobs.com/NVIDIAExternalCareerSite, gusto.bamboohr.com, acme.jobs.personio.de, acme.applytojob.com, acme.breezy.hr), ats:slug (greenhouse:stripe), a company domain (stripe.com) or a company name (Hugging Face). Domains and names are matched to their job board automatically.

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

Keep jobs whose title contains at least one of these words (case-insensitive), e.g. engineer, data, sales. Leave empty for all jobs.

## `keywordsInDescription` (type: `boolean`):

Also keep jobs whose description (not just the title) mentions a keyword, e.g. a tool like Salesforce or Snowflake.

## `excludeKeywords` (type: `array`):

Drop jobs whose title contains any of these words, e.g. intern, senior.

## `locations` (type: `array`):

Keep jobs whose location contains one of these strings, e.g. London, United States, New York, Germany.

Drop repeat postings with the same company, title and location (common with multi-location reqs). Exact duplicates are always removed.

## `onlyNewJobs` (type: `boolean`):

Remember job IDs between runs and output only jobs not seen before. Ideal for scheduled monitoring and alerts.

## `stateKey` (type: `string`):

Name for the 'seen jobs' memory used by 'Only new jobs'. Use a different key for each separate watchlist.

## `includeDescription` (type: `boolean`):

Include the full plain-text job description. Turn off for the fastest runs (Workday, SmartRecruiters, BambooHR, JazzHR and Breezy need one extra request per job for descriptions).

## `maxJobsPerCompany` (type: `integer`):

0 = unlimited.

## `maxJobs` (type: `integer`):
