## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Google News Scraper - headlines, publishers & links

Export Google News results for any search: **headline**, **publisher name and website**, **publish date** and the **Google News article link**. Run many searches at once, in any country and language. Great for media monitoring, brand mentions, competitor tracking, PR reports and feeding news into AI agents or spreadsheets.

### Why this one

- **$2 per 1,000 articles.** You only pay for articles returned (plus a tiny start fee). No proxy or platform costs on top.
- **Fast and light.** Reads Google News feeds directly, so a typical run finishes in seconds.
- **Clean, deduplicated data.** Duplicate articles across your searches are removed.
- **Google News search syntax works:** `site:reuters.com`, `when:7d`, `"exact phrase"`, `-exclude`.

### Input example

```json
{"queries": ["artificial intelligence", "site:techcrunch.com startups when:7d"], "language": "en", "country": "US", "maxArticlesPerQuery": 20}
```

### Output example

| Field | Example |
|---|---|
| query | artificial intelligence |
| title | Example headline - Reuters |
| publisher | Reuters |
| publisherUrl | https://www.reuters.com/ |
| publishedAt | 2026-10-29T14:06:20+00:00 |
| googleNewsUrl | https://news.google.com/rss/articles/... |
| language / country | en / US |

Export to JSON, CSV or Excel, schedule it to run daily, or call it via API, n8n, Make or Zapier.

### FAQ

**How many articles per search?** Up to 100 per search (Google's feed limit). Add more specific searches (by site, date or phrase) for more coverage.

**Do I get the full article text?** No. You get the headline, publisher, date and link. The link opens the original article via Google News.

**Are failed searches charged?** No article charge applies to error or empty rows.

# Actor input Schema

## `queries` (type: `array`):

1–50 Google News search queries. Supports Google News search syntax such as site:example.com or when:7d. Duplicate queries and article links are removed within a run.

## `language` (type: `string`):

Google News language code, such as en, es or zh-TW. Availability depends on the selected country edition.

## `country` (type: `string`):

Two-letter Google News country edition, such as US, GB or CA. Unsupported editions may return no matches or an error.

## `maxArticlesPerQuery` (type: `integer`):

Return at most this many unique articles per query (1–100). RSS feed size is limited by Google; this does not enable pagination.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "queries": [
    "artificial intelligence"
  ],
  "language": "en",
  "country": "US",
