## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Colorado New Business Leads: New LLCs with Website and Phone

This edition covers **Colorado only**, from the Colorado Department of State's open register. For New York, Colorado, Oregon, Connecticut and Pennsylvania together, use New Business Leads (groundtruth/new-business-leads).

Fresh leads for anyone who sells to new businesses: web designers, accountants, insurance, payroll, POS and software sellers. Every lead is an LLC or corporation that registered with the state in the last weeks, **with a website we found and proved is theirs**, the technologies that site runs on, and the phone numbers and inboxes it publishes.

### What you get for each new business

- **From the state register:** legal name, entity number, type, status, formation date, city, state and ZIP (New York, Colorado, Oregon, Connecticut and Pennsylvania open data).
- **Its website, with the proof:** a site counts only when its own pages show the exact legal name and the same city, state or ZIP as the register. The reason is in `website_evidence`. Nothing is guessed: businesses without a proven site are not in the results.
- **Its tech stack:** for example WordPress, Shopify, Squarespace, Google Workspace, read from its home page.
- **How to reach it:** phone numbers, role inboxes such as info@ and sales@, and the contact page, exactly as the business shows them on its own site, each with the page it came from.

### Sample output

```json
{
  "legal_name": "Little Pines Montessori LLC",
  "website": "https://littlepinesmontessori.com",
  "state": "CO",
  "entity_number": "20268241667",
  "entity_type": "Limited Liability Company",
  "status": "Good Standing",
  "formation_date": "2026-10-05",
  "city": "Castle Pines",
  "zip": "80108",
  "technologies": ["Adobe Fonts", "Cloudflare", "Google Workspace", "HSTS", "Stimulus", "Typekit"],
  "phones": [],
  "role_emails": [{"email": "hello@littlepinesmontessori.com", "source_url": "https://www.littlepinesmontessori.com/"}],
  "website_evidence": "littlepinesmontessori.com spells the company name, and https://www.littlepinesmontessori.com/ shows the legal name 'Little Pines Montessori LLC' and Castle Pines"
}
```

**Check any lead yourself in a minute:** open the Colorado register entry at `https://data.colorado.gov/resource/4ykn-tg5h.json?entityid=20268241667` and the website itself. The legal name, city and formation date (2026-10-05) match, and the inbox is on the home page.

### How many leads to expect

About 2 in every 100 new businesses has a findable website a few weeks after forming (measured on October 2026 filings: Colorado 272 of 14,996, Oregon 108 of 5,363, Connecticut 262 of 4,572, New York 216 of 21,318, Pennsylvania 86 of 5,862). So a 60-day window across the four states gives hundreds of leads, and new ones are added every night.

### Pricing

Pay per lead. A lead is charged once; the contacts are a separate charge, made only when the business publishes a phone, inbox or contact page. Businesses that match nothing cost nothing.

### Input

| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| `states` | Any of NY, CO, OR, CT, PA |
| `formed_within_days` | Formed in the last 1 to 120 days |
| `tech` | Keep only sites using all of these technologies |
| `require_phone` | Keep only businesses that publish a phone number |
| `include_contacts` | Add phones, role inboxes and contact page (default on) |
| `max_results` | Newest first, up to 5,000 |

### What this never returns

No owners, officers or registered agents who are people. No named people's emails. No street addresses: the register gives city, state and ZIP only. Use the leads lawfully, including the CAN-SPAM Act and the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

# Actor input Schema

## `formed_within_days` (type: `integer`):

Only businesses formed in this many days. A website usually appears a few weeks after formation, so 30 to 90 days finds the most.

## `tech` (type: `array`):

Keep only businesses whose website uses all of these, for example Shopify, WordPress or Squarespace.

## `require_phone` (type: `boolean`):

Keep only businesses whose own website shows a phone number.

## `include_contacts` (type: `boolean`):

Add the phone numbers, role inboxes (info@, sales@) and contact page each business shows on its own website, each with the page it came from. Charged only when something was found. Never named people's emails.

## `max_results` (type: `integer`):

Newest businesses first. Each lead is charged once.
