## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Competitor Churn Leads $0.75/Prospect: G2, Capterra, Trustpilot 1-3★ Reviewers

**$2 per competitor scan + $0.75 per matched prospect + $0.02 per unhappy review analyzed.** Live Pipedrive test: 56 unhappy reviews with 1 match = about $3.87.

People who just wrote a 1-star review of your competitor are the warmest leads in SaaS. This finds them, tells you what made them angry, and writes the first line for you.

### What does it do?

Turn a competitor's recent 1-3 star G2, Capterra and Trustpilot reviews into named prospects with title, company, LinkedIn URL and an opener about their exact complaint.

### Who is it for?

SaaS founders and sales teams, outbound and lead-gen agencies, AI agencies selling SDR automation, and people starting an AI lead-gen business.

### How it works

1. Pulls the competitor's most recent 1-3 star reviews from Trustpilot, Capterra and G2 (finds the review pages for you if you only give the name).
2. Tags each review with its main complaint theme: pricing, billing, support, bugs and reliability, missing features, UX, onboarding, integrations, contract and cancellation, or data and privacy, and lists the alternatives reviewers mention.
3. Matches each reviewer to a real person with a public Google search of LinkedIn profiles: name, title, company, LinkedIn URL, plus a confidence score and the evidence behind it. Common names and name-only hits go to a human-check list, not the send list.
4. Writes a personal opener and a follow-up that quote the reviewer's exact complaint and position your product's fix for that theme.
5. Outputs one row per review (CSV/JSON), a theme report (Markdown/HTML) and the matched prospect list.

### How much does it cost?

| Event | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Competitor scan | $2.00 | One competitor's recent 1-3 star reviews pulled from Trustpilot, Capterra and G2, themed, with the theme report. Charged once per run. |
| Matched prospect | $0.75 | One unhappy reviewer matched to a named person (title, company, LinkedIn URL) with a personal opener. |
| Unhappy review analyzed | $0.02 | One 1-3 star review with complaint theme, quote and opener (no confident person match). |

Review and search scrapes run on your Apify account (about $0.25 for 25 reviews per source plus the LinkedIn search). Every sub-run has a hard spend cap (`maxUpstreamSpendUsd`). You can also set a maximum charge per run in the Apify Console.

### Input example

```json
{
  "competitor": "Pipedrive",
  "trustpilotDomain": "pipedrive.com",
  "g2Product": "pipedrive",
  "maxReviewsPerSource": 25,
  "days": 180,
  "yourProduct": "Acme CRM",
  "yourOffer": "free data migration"
}
```

### Output

One dataset row per unhappy review with: `competitor`, `source`, `rating`, `reviewDate`, `theme`, `otherThemes`, `complaintQuote`, `reviewTitle`, `reviewUrl`, `reviewerName`, `reviewerTitle`, `reviewerCompanySize`, `reviewerIndustry`, `reviewerCountry`, `matchStatus`, `matchName`, `matchTitle`, `matchCompany`, `linkedinUrl`, `matchConfidence`, `matchEvidence`, `mentionedAlternatives`, `opener`, `followup`.

| source | rating | theme | complaintQuote | matchName | matchTitle | matchStatus | matchConfidence |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Trustpilot | 1 | support | This is quite possibly the worst customer service I've ever experienced. | MacKenzie G. | Director of Operations at an education company | matched | 0.75 |

### Use it from n8n, Make, GoHighLevel, Claude or Cursor

- MCP: add `https://mcp.apify.com/?actors=growth-installations/competitor-churn-sniper` to Claude, Cursor or any MCP client.
- n8n or Make: add an HTTP Request step that POSTs your input JSON to the API endpoint below and returns the dataset items.
- API: `POST https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/growth-installations~competitor-churn-sniper/run-sync-get-dataset-items` with header `Authorization: Bearer <your Apify API token>`

### FAQ

**Can I use my own scraped data?** Yes. Pass items into the bring-your-own dataset inputs and the Actor skips those scrapes.

**Is anything sent automatically?** No. Openers are written for you to review and send from your own tools.

**Does it work outside the US?** Yes. Reviews and LinkedIn profiles are matched in any country; openers are in English.

## `trustpilotDomain` (type: `string`):

Optional, e.g. 'pipedrive.com'. Found automatically if empty.

## `capterraUrl` (type: `string`):

Optional. Found automatically if empty.

## `g2Product` (type: `string`):

Optional, e.g. 'pipedrive'. Defaults to the name.

## `sources` (type: `array`):

Which review sites to pull from: trustpilot, capterra, g2. Fewer sources make a cheaper, faster run.

## `maxReviewsPerSource` (type: `integer`):

Newest reviews to pull from each site before filtering to 1-3 stars. 25 per source is about $0.25 of scraping on your account.

## `days` (type: `integer`):

Only keep reviews posted within this many days. 180 (about 6 months) keeps the leads fresh.

## `minConfidence` (type: `number`):

Lowest match score (0-1) for a reviewer to count as a matched prospect. Matches below this go to a human-check list and are charged only as an analyzed review.

## `yourProduct` (type: `string`):

Your product name. Used in every opener and follow-up, e.g. 'switch to Acme CRM'.

## `yourOffer` (type: `string`):

e.g. 'free data migration'.

## `includeUnmatched` (type: `boolean`):

Also return unhappy reviews with no confident person match (themed, with an opener), charged $0.02 each. Turn off to get matched prospects only.

## `brandName` (type: `string`):

Optional brand line printed on the theme report, e.g. your agency or product name. Leave empty to skip.
