## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## 🛍️ Shopify Store Tech-Stack, Meta Pixels & Contact Leads Scraper

Paste any list of Shopify stores and get back, for every brand: the **theme**, all **ad pixel IDs** (Meta / Facebook, TikTok, Google Ads, GA4, GTM, Pinterest, Snapchat, Reddit, Microsoft Ads), **100+ installed apps** (Klaviyo, Judge.me, Loox, Yotpo, ReCharge, Gorgias, Smile.io, GoKwik, Shiprocket...), the **support email, phone and social profiles**, plus **currency, country, city and product count**.

No login, no browser, no coding. Works on regular Shopify themes **and on headless Shopify stores** (Hydrogen / Next.js front-ends like SKIMS, Ruggable, Chubbies).

***

### ⚡ What does this Shopify scraper do?

For every domain you give it, the Actor visits the public storefront and Shopify's public endpoints, then returns **one clean row per store**:

- 🎨 **Theme detector** – theme family (Dawn, Prestige, Impulse, Focal, Debutify...), version, Theme Store ID and whether it is a custom theme. You also get the merchant's own label for the theme.
- 🎯 **Ad pixel & tracking ID finder** – Meta Pixel ID (including pixels installed via the *Facebook & Instagram* Shopify app / Conversions API), TikTok Pixel code, Google Ads `AW-` conversion IDs, GA4 `G-` IDs, Google Tag `GT-`, GTM containers, Pinterest Tag, Snapchat Pixel, Reddit Pixel, Microsoft UET and Klaviyo company ID.
- 🧩 **Installed Shopify apps** – 100+ apps across Reviews, Email/SMS, Subscriptions, Support/Chat, Loyalty, Checkout & BNPL, Shipping & Returns, Analytics & Attribution, Upsell, Search and Page Builders – each with its category.
- 📧 **Contact leads** – best support email (store-domain mailboxes ranked first, placeholders and no-reply addresses removed), up to 5 emails, customer-care phone / WhatsApp numbers and Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok and Pinterest profile URLs.
- 🏪 **Store profile** – permanent `*.myshopify.com` domain, Shopify shop ID, primary currency, country / state / city, ships-to countries, Shop Pay Installments, published product and collection counts.
- 🧹 **Clean input** – mix full URLs and bare domains; duplicates (with / without `www`) are removed, and non-Shopify domains are skipped so you never pay for empty rows.

### 👥 Who uses it?

| Who | What they do with the data |
|---|---|
| 📈 **Performance marketing agencies** | Find D2C brands **without** a Meta Pixel or TikTok Pixel, or running only Google – then pitch CAPI setup, TikTok ads or tracking audits. |
| 🧑‍💻 **Shopify app developers** | Build lists of stores using a competitor app (e.g. Loox → pitch your reviews app, ReCharge → pitch your subscriptions app). |
| 📬 **B2B cold email SDRs** | Enrich a domain list with support email, phone, LinkedIn and Instagram before outreach. |
| 💰 **DTC investors & aggregators** | Screen brands by catalogue size, country, currency, tech maturity and app spend. |
| 🎨 **Theme developers & designers** | Find stores on Dawn / free themes that are ready for a premium redesign. |

### 🧠 Good to know

- **Meta Pixel installed through GTM only?** Pixels fired only inside a Google Tag Manager container are not visible in page HTML. You will still see the `GTM-` container ID and the *Google Tag Manager* platform.
- **Multi-currency stores** – `currency` is the store's primary (settlement) currency; `displayedCurrency` is what the shopper saw.
- **Contacts are public business details only** (support mailbox, customer-care line, brand social profiles) taken from the storefront, the contact page and Shopify's contact-information policy.
- A short **RUN_SUMMARY** record in the key-value store lists every skipped (non-Shopify) and failed domain.

***

### 💵 Pricing

Pay only for stores saved to the dataset – non-Shopify and failed domains are free. A typical store takes 4–6 lightweight requests, so thousands of stores per run are cheap and fast.

***

### ❓ FAQ

**Can it detect the Shopify theme of any store?** Yes for every store using the Online Store theme engine (Dawn, Prestige, Impulse, Focal, Debutify, Turbo, custom themes...). Headless stores have no Liquid theme, so `themeName` is `null` and `isHeadless` is `true`.

**How do I find Shopify stores without a Facebook Pixel?** Filter the dataset where `metaPixelId` is empty – an instant list of agency prospects.

**Is this legal?** The Actor reads only public pages and public Shopify endpoints that every visitor's browser loads. Use the contact data in line with GDPR, CAN-SPAM and your local laws.

# Actor input Schema

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

Shopify store homepages or any page on the store (e.g. https://gymshark.com, https://www.boat-lifestyle.com/collections/earbuds). Only the domain is used, duplicates are removed automatically.

## `storeDomains` (type: `array`):

Paste plain domains, one per line (e.g. allbirds.com, mamaearth.in, colourpop.com). Combined with Store URLs above. Ideal for enriching a lead list of hundreds of D2C brands.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of Shopify stores to save in the dataset.

## `includeNonShopify` (type: `boolean`):

By default, domains that are not Shopify stores are skipped (and listed in the RUN_SUMMARY record). Turn on to save them too with isShopify = false.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Apify Proxy rotates IPs automatically. If a proxy request is blocked, the last retry goes direct.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "startUrls": [
    "https://www.boat-lifestyle.com",
    "https://kyliecosmetics.com",
    "https://gymshark.com"
  ],
  "maxItems": 50,
  "includeNonShopify": false,
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": true
  }
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `dataset` (type: `string`):

One row per Shopify store: theme, ad pixels, installed apps, contacts, social links, currency and product count.
