## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Nordic Company Registry (Norway + Finland)

Search the **official open company registries** of Norway and Finland in one Actor and get clean, uniform rows.

- 🇳🇴 **Norway** – Brønnøysundregistrene, Enhetsregisteret API (`data.brreg.no`)
- 🇫🇮 **Finland** – PRH / Finnish Business Information System (YTJ) open data API v3

### What it does

Filter by country, company name, organisation number, industry code, municipality and registration date range. Results are capped by `maxItems`. Requests are rate-limited (≈1 request/second, retries with back-off on 429/5xx).

### Input example

```json
{ "country": "both", "name": "nokia", "industryCode": "", "municipality": "", "registrationDateFrom": "2020-01-01", "maxItems": 20 }
```

Finland's API needs at least one filter (name, ID, industry, municipality or date).

### Output example

```json
{
  "orgNumber": "989479997", "name": "NOKIA B.I.L.", "legalForm": "FLI",
  "legalFormDescription": "Forening/lag/innretning", "industryCode": "93.292",
  "address": { "street": "Martin Linges vei 25", "postalCode": "1364", "city": "FORNEBU", "municipality": "BÆRUM", "country": "NO" },
  "registrationDate": "2006-03-20", "status": "active", "country": "NO", "isSoleTrader": false,
  "url": "https://virksomhet.brreg.no/nb/oppslag/enheter/989479997"
}
```

Fields: `orgNumber, name, legalForm, legalFormDescription, industryCode, industryDescription, address, registrationDate, status, country, isSoleTrader, url, source`.

### Personal data & privacy

- **No emails, phone numbers or contact persons are output.**
- **Sole traders:** In Norway a sole proprietorship (*enkeltpersonforetak*, `ENK`) is usually named after its owner, so the name and address can be **personal data** under GDPR. Such rows have `isSoleTrader: true`. Filter them out if you have no lawful basis to process them. Finland's PRH open data does not include private traders.

### Data sources, licences & attribution

- Norway: © Brønnøysundregistrene, licensed under the [Norwegian Licence for Open Government Data (NLOD 2.0)](https://data.norge.no/nlod/en/2.0).
- Finland: © Finnish Patent and Registration Office (PRH), Finnish Business Information System, licensed under [CC BY 4.0](https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/). Data has been reformatted (changes made). This Actor is not a PRH/YTJ service and is not affiliated with or endorsed by PRH or Brønnøysundregistrene.

### Limits

- Norway API returns at most 10,000 results per query (page × size ≤ 10,000). Use narrower filters for more.
- Finland API pages at 100 companies; data updated daily by PRH.
- Free Apify plan users get limited results per run.

### Pricing

Pay per result (price set by the Actor owner in Apify Console).
