# Seek Job Details, the Full Advert With the Company Id (`gubidonius/seek-job-details`) Actor

The whole advert from Seek, JobStreet and JobsDB: full text, expiry, questionnaire, contact details in the text, whether the advertiser is private or verified, and the company profile id the search never gives you. Expired adverts are still served in full and say so.

## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

# README

## Seek Job Details, the Full Advert With the Company Id

The whole advert from Seek, JobStreet and JobsDB, for any advert id or URL from any of the
eight markets, or for the first adverts a keyword search finds. No key and no login.

### What the search record does not carry

The search result gives a title, a teaser and three bullet points. The advert carries the
full text, the expiry, the screening questions, the email addresses and phone numbers in the
text, whether the advertiser chose to stay private, whether the site marks it verified, and
when the advertiser account was registered.

It also carries `companyProfileId`. The search record has an `employerId`, and that id does
not open a company profile. This one does, and it is what `seek-companies` and
`seek-company-reviews` take.

### An expired advert is not a missing one

The site serves an advert from November 2024 in full, with its text and its dates, and marks
it `isExpired`. That flag is the only thing that says the advert is closed. An id the site
does not know comes back as nothing and is listed in `RUN_SUMMARY.advertsNotFound` rather
than written as a row or charged.

### Salary and currency

The salary is free text and is read into figures only where there is one, with the period
taken from the label's own words. The site names an advert's currency only when asked from
another market, so this Actor asks every market at once and reads it from there. An
Australian advert priced in US dollars says USD.

### Billing

Two events: a start fee charged only once an advert is returned, and a per-advert fee charged
after each advert is written. Ids that do not exist cost nothing.

# Actor input Schema

## `jobIds` (type: `array`):

Adverts to read, as the site's numeric id or the advert URL, for example 94201466 or https://au.seek.com/job/94201466. The jobId column of seek-jobs is what goes here. Ids from any of the eight markets can be mixed.

## `keywords` (type: `string`):

Instead of ids, or as well as them: search for adverts and read the first ones found. The search serves at most 550 rows per market, so for a bigger search run seek-jobs and pass its ids.

## `markets` (type: `array`):

Two-letter codes for the storefronts the search runs on: AU, NZ, SG, MY, PH, ID, HK, TH. Ignored when only ids are given, because an id already knows its market.

## `where` (type: `string`):

A place as the site writes it, for example Sydney NSW or Singapore.

## `listedWithinDays` (type: `integer`):

Only adverts listed in the last 1, 3, 7, 14 or 31 days. 0 means no date filter.

## `sortBy` (type: `string`):

Which adverts the search hands over first when the budget is smaller than the search.

## `maxJobs` (type: `integer`):

Most adverts to read, ids and search together, and the most you will be charged for.

```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
// Initialize the ApifyClient with your Apify API token
// Replace the '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' with your token
const client = new ApifyClient({
    token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>',
});
// Prepare Actor input
const input = {
// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("gubidonius/seek-job-details").call(input);
// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
console.log(`💾 Check your data here: https://console.apify.com/storage/datasets/${run.defaultDatasetId}`);
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
