## Pricing

from $2.50 / 1,000 results

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

### What This Actor Does

Search Steam or pass app IDs and get a clean record per game:

- **Identity** — name, app ID, type, store URL, header image, screenshots
- **Pricing** — current price, pre-discount price, **discount %**, currency and a formatted price (in the country you choose)
- **Details** — developers, publishers, genres, store categories, release date, platforms (Windows/Mac/Linux), required age, DLC count, achievements, supported languages, website
- **Scores** — **Metacritic** score and total recommendations
- **Reviews** — review score label (e.g. *Very Positive*), total/positive/negative counts, positive %, and optional **individual review texts** (playtime, votes, date)

Works across many games and countries in one run.

***

### Why Use This

- **Track prices & discounts.** Snapshot any set of games with current and pre-discount prices in your currency — perfect for sale monitoring and wishlists.
- **Analyse reviews & sentiment.** Pull review scores and real review texts for competitor and quality analysis.
- **Research the market.** Compare genres, developers, release dates, Metacritic and review counts across hundreds of games.
- **Clean and fast.** Reads Steam's public store endpoints — no key, no login, no browser.

***

### Quick Start

#### Run it in the console (no code)

1. Add **search terms** (e.g. `roguelike`, `racing`) and/or specific **app IDs**.
2. Choose a **country** for pricing, toggle **review summary**, set **review texts per game** if you want them.
3. Set **Max games**, click **Start**, export as **JSON, CSV, Excel or HTML**.

#### Track prices & reviews (Python)

```python
from apify_client import ApifyClient
client = ApifyClient("YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN")
run_input = {"searchTerms": ["roguelike"], "country": "us", "maxItems": 500}
run = client.actor("YOUR_USERNAME/steam-game-scraper").call(run_input=run_input)
for g in client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).iterate_items():
    print(g["name"], "·", g["priceFormatted"], f"(-{g['discountPercent']}%)",
          "·", g["reviewScoreDesc"], f"({g['totalReviews']})")
```

#### Pull review texts for specific games (Python)

```python
run = client.actor("YOUR_USERNAME/steam-game-scraper").call(run_input={
    "appIds": ["1091500", "730"], "maxReviewsPerGame": 50, "reviewFilter": "recent",
})
```

### Input Parameters

| Field | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| `searchTerms` | array | Keywords to find games. Each is searched and paginated. |
| `appIds` | array | Specific Steam app IDs to scrape directly. |
| `includeReviews` | boolean | Attach review score + rating label + totals (default on). |
| `maxReviewsPerGame` | integer | How many review texts to fetch per game (`0` = summary only). |
| `reviewFilter` | string | `recent`, `updated` or `all` (most helpful) — order for review texts. |
| `country` | string | Two-letter country code for pricing/currency (e.g. `us`, `gb`, `de`, `tr`). |
| `language` | string | Content language for descriptions. |
| `maxItems` | integer | Max games across all searches. `0` = no limit. |
| `maxPagesPerSearch` | integer | Pagination cap per search term (50 games per page). |
| `proxyConfiguration` | object | Apify Proxy. Datacenter is enough (public endpoints). |

### Output

Each game is one record:

```json
{
  "appId": 1091500,
  "name": "Cyberpunk 2077",
  "url": "https://store.steampowered.com/app/1091500",
  "isFree": false,
  "price": 59.99, "priceInitial": 59.99, "discountPercent": 0,
  "currency": "USD", "priceFormatted": "$59.99",
  "releaseDate": "Dec 9, 2020", "comingSoon": false,
  "developers": ["CD PROJEKT RED"], "publishers": ["CD PROJEKT RED"],
  "genres": ["RPG"], "categories": ["Single-player"],
  "metacriticScore": 86, "recommendationsTotal": 700000,
  "platformWindows": true, "platformMac": false, "platformLinux": false,
  "reviewScoreDesc": "Very Positive", "totalReviews": 982835,
  "totalPositive": 880000, "positivePercent": 90,
  "reviews": [{"votedUp": true, "playtimeHours": 109.5, "text": "…", "createdAt": "2026-01-02T…"}]
}
```

**About coverage:** name, URL, genres, developers, release date and review score are present for essentially every game. **Price is empty for unreleased games** (`comingSoon: true` — they have no price yet). **Metacritic is only present for titles Metacritic has rated** (mostly larger releases), so many indie games legitimately have none.

***

### Use Cases

#### 1. Price & discount tracking

Monitor prices, pre-discount prices and discount % for any set of games in your currency — on a schedule.

#### 2. Review & sentiment analysis

Pull review scores and real review texts to analyse reception, quality and competitor games.

#### 3. Market & catalog research

Compare genres, developers, release cadence, Metacritic and review counts across hundreds of titles.

#### 4. Wishlist & deal monitoring

Watch specific app IDs and get notified of discounts and rating changes.

***

### Tips

- **`country`** changes pricing/currency — compare the same game across regions.
- **`discountPercent`** + **`priceInitial`** make sale tracking trivial.
- **`maxReviewsPerGame`** controls how many review texts you pull (keep it `0` for fast summary-only runs).
- **`appIds`** is the most precise input when you already know the games.
- **Schedule it** with Apify Schedules for daily price/review snapshots.

***

### Frequently Asked Questions

**Do I need an account or key?**
No. Steam's store endpoints are public — no login, key or anti-bot.

**Can I get prices in my currency?**
Yes — set `country` (e.g. `gb`, `de`, `tr`) and prices come back in that region's currency.

**Why do some games have no price?**
Unreleased games (`comingSoon: true`) have no price yet. Free games return a price of `0`.

**Can I get full review text, not just the score?**
Yes — set `maxReviewsPerGame` above 0 to fetch individual reviews with playtime, votes and dates.

**What export formats are supported?**
JSON, CSV, Excel, HTML, or via API — plus Google Sheets, webhooks, Make and Zapier.
