# Shopify Catalog Integrity (`hennibros_ops/shopify-catalog-integrity`) Actor

Extract public Shopify product catalogs with variants, prices and availability. Export structured data with explicit coverage reports, request errors and unknown-value flags. Ideal for catalog quality checks and authorized store research. $1 per 1,000 products; variants included.

## Pricing

$1.00 / 1,000 products

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Shopify Catalog Integrity

Extract public Shopify products and variants with a report of what was collected, skipped or unavailable. Suitable for catalogue quality checks and authorized public-store research.

Pricing: $1 per 1,000 successfully saved products, with nested variants included. No startup fee; platform usage is included. The run spending limit may reduce the requested product count. Budgets below $0.001 stop before collection. The MANIFEST reports `billingProductLimit` and `budgetLimited`; budget-limited runs conservatively report incomplete coverage.

### Quick start

Provide the store's HTTPS origin without a product path, query string or login:

```json
{
  "storeUrl": "https://theme-refresh-demo.myshopify.com",
  "maxProducts": 100,
  "maxSitemaps": 10,
  "requestDelaySeconds": 1
}
```

Use `localePath` only for the exact locale path you want to collect. It does not infer or translate a market. Start with a small product limit. Requests respect robots.txt; blocks and redirects are reported rather than bypassed.

### Results

One dataset item represents one product, including its nested variants:

| Field | Meaning |
| --- | --- |
| `id`, `handle`, `title` | Source identity and title |
| `vendor`, `product_type` | Public source metadata |
| `price_subunits` | Original integer price from Shopify; not a formatted monetary amount |
| `available` | True, false or unknown; never an inventory quantity |
| `variants` | Variant IDs, titles, integer prices and availability |
| `currency` | Unknown unless declared by the caller; a declaration is not independently verified |
| `variantCoverageUnknown` | True when the response reaches the 250-variant boundary |

Do not automatically divide prices by 100 or attach a currency symbol without checking the store's currency representation. The Actor makes no currency conversion.

In **Storage > Key-value store**, `MANIFEST` contains coverage counts and confirmed dataset writes. `OUTPUT` also includes error explanations. The run log shows coverage counters. Product limits, unavailable sitemaps, blocks and malformed responses can produce a useful but partial result. A successful process alone does not mean complete coverage.

### Limits

- Public, same-origin sitemap and Shopify Ajax product data only. No login, customer, order or checkout access.
- Maximum 1,000 products and 20 sitemap files per run; requests are spaced by at least 0.5 seconds.
- No discovery of unpublished, password-protected or sitemap-excluded products.
- Coverage applies to the reachable sitemap and selected locale, not every item in a merchant's administrative catalogue.
- Empty secondary sitemaps currently mark coverage as incomplete conservatively.
- No persistent monitoring or alerts in this version. Prices may differ across markets, sessions and collection times.
- Use only where you have the right to access and use the data; robots allowance is not a licence to republish it.

### Validation evidence

On 11 October 2026, a bounded local sample of 20 official Shopify demo stores returned 40 products and 191 variants with 773 source-field checks passing. These curated demos are not a representative sample of all merchants.

Private Apify runs verified three Dawn demo products and all 23 products discoverable in the Refresh demo sitemap at collection time. The Refresh run reported no failed, blocked or skipped requests in its coverage counters. This is test evidence, not a guarantee for other stores.

# Actor input Schema

## `storeUrl` (type: `string`):

Canonical public HTTPS store origin, without path, credentials or query. Only use stores you are permitted to access.

## `localePath` (type: `string`):

Optional locale path, for example /en. Uses the same host only.

## `maxProducts` (type: `integer`):

Hard extraction cap. Reaching a cap can produce partial coverage.

## `maxSitemaps` (type: `integer`):

Nested sitemap fetch limit, including root. Caps are reported.

## `requestDelaySeconds` (type: `number`):

Polite request spacing. Does not bypass platform blocks.

## `declaredCurrency` (type: `string`):

Not independently verified. Omit if unknown; prices remain original integer subunits.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "storeUrl": "https://theme-refresh-demo.myshopify.com",
  "localePath": "",
  "maxProducts": 25,
  "maxSitemaps": 5,
  "requestDelaySeconds": 1
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `products` (type: `string`):

No description

## `diagnostics` (type: `string`):

# API

You can run this Actor programmatically using our API. Below are code examples in JavaScript, Python, and CLI, as well as the OpenAPI specification and MCP server setup.

## JavaScript example

```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
// Initialize the ApifyClient with your Apify API token
// Replace the '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' with your token
const client = new ApifyClient({
    token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>',
});
// Prepare Actor input
const input = {
    "storeUrl": "https://theme-refresh-demo.myshopify.com"
};
// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("hennibros_ops/shopify-catalog-integrity").call(input);
// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
console.log(`💾 Check your data here: https://console.apify.com/storage/datasets/${run.defaultDatasetId}`);
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
items.forEach((item) => {
    console.dir(item);
});
