## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Belgian & EU Tenders Monitor (TED)

Find new **public tenders** from the official EU database **TED (Tenders Electronic Daily)**, with a focus on **Belgium**. Filter by keyword (in Dutch, French or English), country, CPV sector, contract type and estimated value. Turn on **"Only new since last run"** and schedule it daily to get an alert for every new opportunity, for example in Google Sheets, Slack or email via n8n, Make or Zapier.

- ✅ Official EU open data (TED Search API), no login, no CAPTCHA, no scraping of HTML
- ✅ Clean, flat rows: title, buyer, sector codes, value, deadline, link
- ✅ Dutch / French / English titles with automatic language fallback
- ✅ "Only new" mode for daily alerts, no duplicates
- ✅ No personal data: contact names, e-mails and phone numbers are never collected

### What can you use it for?

- **Companies** that bid on government contracts: get every relevant Belgian tender in your inbox each morning.
- **Consultants and tender services**: monitor several sectors (CPV codes) and countries at once.
- **Analysts and journalists**: export tenders by sector, region and value for research.

### How to use it

1. Enter one or more **keywords** (e.g. `schoonmaak`, `nettoyage`, `cleaning`) or **CPV codes** (e.g. `90910000`).
2. Keep **Buyer countries** on `BEL`, or add others (`NLD`, `FRA`, `DEU`, ...).
3. Choose how many days back to search.
4. Click **Start**. Download the results as JSON, CSV, Excel or via the API.
5. For daily alerts: turn on **Only new since last run** and create a **Schedule** (e.g. every morning at 7:00).

| ----------------------- | --------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `keywords`              | `[]`      | Any of these words must appear in the notice. Max 20.                                                      |
| `countries`             | `["BEL"]` | 3-letter ISO codes of the buyer's country. Empty = all countries.                                          |
| `cpvCodes`              | `[]`      | 8-digit CPV sector codes.                                                                                  |

| `minValue` / `maxValue` | empty | Estimated value in EUR. Notices without a published value are skipped when you use these. |
| `onlyNewSinceLastRun` | `false` | Only return tenders that an earlier run with the same search did not return yet. |
| `preferredLanguage` | `nld` | Language for title and buyer name (fallback: eng, fra, deu, nld, any). |
| `maxResults`            | `100`     | Maximum rows (and maximum cost) per run.                                                                   |

### Output example

```json
{
    "publicationNumber": "612345-2026",
    "title": "Schoonmaak van administratieve gebouwen",
    "titleLanguage": "nld",
    "buyerName": "Stad Antwerpen",
    "buyerCountry": "BEL",
    "noticeType": "cn-standard",
    "contractNature": "services",
    "cpvCodes": ["90910000", "90911200"],
    "placeOfPerformance": ["BE211"],
    "estimatedValue": 450000,
    "currency": "EUR",
    "publicationDate": "2026-10-06",
    "deadline": "2026-11-12",
    "deadlineType": "tender",
    "url": "https://ted.europa.eu/en/notice/-/detail/612345-2026",
    "scrapedAt": "2026-10-07T08:00:00.000Z"
}
```

*(Illustrative example, not a real tender.)* Missing values are always `null` (or an empty list), never left out. `deadline` is the earliest deadline over all lots. `deadlineType` says what it is for: `tender` (submit your tender) or `request` (two-stage procedure: request to participate first).

### Pricing

**Pay per result: $4 per 1,000 tenders** ($0.004 per tender). You only pay for tenders that end up in your dataset. Duplicates and invalid notices are never charged, and a run that fails before delivering results costs nothing. Set a **maximum cost per run** in the run options and the Actor stops cleanly when it is reached.

**Free Apify plan:** a run returns at most **10 tenders**. Upgrade to a paid Apify plan to get all results.

### Integrations

Use the Actor from **n8n**, **Make**, **Zapier**, Google Sheets or the Apify API. A ready-made n8n workflow (daily → Google Sheets) is available from the author.

### FAQ

**Is this legal?** Yes. TED is the official EU publication of public procurement notices and offers a public search API for re-use. The Actor uses that API, respects its fair-use limits (max 1 request per second) and collects no personal data.

**Why do I not see small Belgian tenders?** TED only contains tenders above the EU thresholds (and some voluntary publications). Smaller Belgian tenders are published only on the Belgian e-Procurement platform, which this Actor does not cover (yet).

**Why are some values empty?** Many notices do not publish an estimated value (in our test on real Belgian data only about 1 in 10 did) or a deadline. The Actor returns `null` instead of guessing.

**What is a CPV code?** The EU's sector classification. Examples: `90910000` cleaning services, `72000000` IT services, `45000000` construction work. Search the full list on ted.europa.eu.

**How does "Only new since last run" work?** The Actor remembers (per search) which tenders it already returned and skips those next time. Change a filter and it counts as a new search.

### Limitations

- Only TED (EU-level) notices; no national-only platforms.
- Results depend on the TED API. If TED changes its data format, some fields may become empty until the Actor is updated.
- Keyword search uses TED's full-text search; the characters `"` and `\` are removed from keywords.
- Value filters only compare amounts in EUR.

Only tenders with an estimated value of at least this amount in EUR. Tenders without a published value (or in another currency) are skipped when you use this filter.

## `maxValue` (type: `number`):

Only tenders with an estimated value of at most this amount in EUR. Tenders without a published value (or in another currency) are skipped when you use this filter.

Return only tenders that earlier runs with the same search did not return yet. Ideal for daily alerts (e.g. with n8n or a schedule).

## `preferredLanguage` (type: `string`):

Language of the title and buyer name. Falls back to English, French, German, Dutch, then any available language.

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):
