## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## Loxam Scraper: France Equipment Rental & Resale Prices

Collect equipment rental rates and resale prices from **loxam.fr**, France's leading equipment rental
network. For every product you get its reference, name, URL, brand, rating, image and published web
prices: the daily rental rate for each duration bracket (1 day, 2–6 days, 7+ days) plus the weekend rate,
or the sale price before and after VAT for used equipment. Product pages add the full specifications table.

Typical uses: benchmark rental rates against your own fleet, monitor price changes over time, or build a
catalogue of used construction equipment for sale.

### Try it in one minute

Paste a category URL, keep a small limit, and run:

```json
{
  "startUrls": [{ "url": "https://www.loxam.fr/c/location/terrassement-et-routes/terrassement/minipelle/4800" }],
  "maxItems": 20
}
```

Open **Output** for the records (JSON, CSV or Excel export). The key-value store record `OUTPUT` gives the
status of each URL.

### Example record (rental)

```json
{
  "url": "https://www.loxam.fr/p/minipelle-1-5t/057-0002-00265000",
  "reference": "057-0002",
  "name": "Mini-pelle 1,5T",
  "priceCurrency": "EUR",
  "pricesIncludeVat": true,
  "priceBasis": "web_rental_rate",
  "price1Day": 445.28,
  "price2To6Days": 394.48,
  "price7DaysAndMore": 340.9,
  "priceWeekend": 481.72,
  "specs": { "Énergie": "Diesel", "Largeur": "0.98 m", "Profondeur de travail": "2.15 m" }
}
```

Resale records have `priceBasis: "resale_sale_price"` with `salePriceHt` (excluding VAT) and
`salePriceTtc` (including VAT); their rental fields are null.

### What the prices mean

- `price1Day`, `price2To6Days` and `price7DaysAndMore` are **per-day** rates for the brackets shown on the
  site; `priceWeekend` is the price **for the weekend**. All rental prices are in EUR including VAT; the
  site's own labels are kept in `priceTierLabels` and `priceTaxLabels`.
- These are the published web rates for an anonymous visitor (no customer account, no agency selected).
  Account discounts, availability, delivery, insurance and deposits are not included: this is not a
  booking quote.
- Spec names and values are kept in French, exactly as published.

### Accepted URLs and limits

- Category pages `https://www.loxam.fr/c/…` (rental or resale): all products are collected, following the
  site's "load more" pages.
- Product pages `https://www.loxam.fr/p/…`: same prices plus the specifications table. For **resale**
  items, prefer category URLs: resale product pages were only verified in a browser.
- Universe pages `https://www.loxam.fr/u/…` are navigation pages; tiles without a price are reported as
  anomalies, never as free products.
- `maxItems` caps the number of records across all URLs (0 = no limit). If you give both a category and one
  of its product pages, that product appears twice (one record per source URL).

### Price

**$1.50 per 1,000 records** (pay per result): 20 records cost $0.03, 1,000 records cost $1.50. Platform
usage is included. URLs that return no product cost nothing. Use **Maximum number of items**, or the
maximum charge per run in Apify, to cap a run.

### If something looks wrong

Check `OUTPUT.perUrl`: `done` means the URL was fully collected, `stopped_at_limit` means your limit was
reached, `no_products` means the page legitimately had none. `http_error`, `network_error` or
`unrecognized_page` make the run fail with a clear message instead of returning partial data as a success.
If the site changes and the Actor breaks, please open an issue: it is monitored daily.

# Actor input Schema

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

Loxam listing URLs to read. Accepted: category pages https://www.loxam.fr/c/… (rental or resale), product pages https://www.loxam.fr/p/… (same price grid + specs table), and universe pages https://www.loxam.fr/u/… (navigation pages; featured tiles without price grids are returned with explicit anomalies). An invalid URL never fails the others.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Maximum delivered records across input URLs (0 = unlimited). A product found through different source URLs can appear more than once. Each affected OUTPUT.perUrl entry reports stopped_at_limit when this limit is reached.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Not needed by default: loxam.fr answers without a proxy. Enable it only if your runs get blocked. One proxy session is used for the whole run.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "startUrls": [
    {
      "url": "https://www.loxam.fr/c/location/terrassement-et-routes/terrassement/minipelle/4800"
    }
  ],
  "maxItems": 20,
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": false
  }
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `records` (type: `string`):

All records, one per product and source URL, with every field.

## `prices` (type: `string`):

Price view: product, rental rates per duration bracket, weekend rate, resale prices.

## `summary` (type: `string`):

Readable per-URL summary: status, records delivered, reason for any URL that returned nothing.

## `summaryJson` (type: `string`):

The same summary as JSON (OUTPUT record), for programmatic use.
