## Pricing

from $1.90 / 1,000 scraped program/dramas

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

Scrape **Vigloo short dramas**. Get the **whole drama catalog of a country** in one run, or only the dramas that you list. For each drama you get its **title, synopsis, genres, tags, cast, episode and free-episode counts, views, likes, bookmarks, age rating, content warnings, subtitle languages, posters** and **release date**, in **12 languages**.

**No Vigloo account, app, login or cookies are needed.** Download the data as JSON, CSV or Excel, use it as a **Vigloo API** from your own code, run it on a schedule, or ask an AI assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT to get Vigloo dramas for you.

### What does Vigloo Drama Scraper do?

[Vigloo](https://www.vigloo.com) is a short-drama (micro-drama) streaming app with Korean and US vertical series. Most episodes are 1 to 2 minutes long. Vigloo Drama Scraper saves one row for each drama. For each drama you get:

- **Drama:** ID, title, tagline, log line, description and synopsis
- **Genres and tags:** for example `Romance`, `Billionaire`, `Secret Identity`, also grouped by tag type (relationship, plot, setting, tone, character)
- **Cast:** the list of actors, when Vigloo gives it
- **Episodes:** the number of seasons and episodes, and how many episodes are **free to watch**
- **Engagement:** the counts of **views, likes and bookmarks**
- **Rating:** the age rating, content warnings (violence, language, ...) and the rating certificate number
- **Format:** subtitle languages, Vigloo Original or licensed, vertical or horizontal video, ad unlock, explicit flag
- **Dates:** release date, the date the drama was added, and the date the drama will leave the catalog
- **Images:** poster, wide poster, title logo and banner
- **Links:** the drama page and the watch page on vigloo.com

Because it runs on the Apify platform, you also get API access, scheduling, integrations and run monitoring.

### Why scrape Vigloo?

Short dramas are one of the fastest-growing video formats. Vigloo, ReelShort, DramaBox and ShortMax compete for the same viewers.

- **Market research:** see which genres, tags and story tropes Vigloo publishes most, and which get the most views.
- **Competitor tracking:** follow new releases, free-episode strategy and catalog changes every week.
- **Content and licensing research:** compare Vigloo Originals with licensed dramas, and the catalogs of different countries.
- **Performance tracking:** run on a schedule and chart the views, likes and bookmarks of each drama over time.
- **Recommendation and data projects:** build a clean drama database with synopses and tags in 12 languages.

### Input

### How to use Vigloo Drama Scraper

You can run the Actor from Apify Console, from the Apify API, or from an AI assistant. All the examples below use the same input fields.

#### How to scrape Vigloo in Apify Console

1. Open the Actor and go to the **Input** tab.
2. Enter a **Country**, for example `us`.
3. Select a **Language**.
4. Leave **Drama URLs** empty to scrape the whole catalog, or paste the links of the dramas that you want.
5. Click **Start**. The whole US catalog (about 550 dramas) takes less than a minute.
6. Open the **Output** tab to see the dramas, or export them as JSON, CSV, Excel, XML or HTML.
7. Optional: click **Save as a new task**, then add a **Schedule** to the task. The Actor then tracks new dramas and view counts every day or week.

#### With the Apify API (HTTP)

This request runs the Actor and returns the results in one call. Replace `YOUR_API_TOKEN` with your token from **Settings → API & Integrations** in Apify Console.

```bash
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/hgservices~vigloo-drama-scraper/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=YOUR_API_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"country": "us", "language": "en", "maxPrograms": 50}'
```

Add `&format=csv` or `&format=xlsx` to the URL to get CSV or Excel instead of JSON.

#### With the JavaScript client

Install the client with `npm install apify-client`, then run:

```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
const client = new ApifyClient({ token: 'YOUR_API_TOKEN' });
const run = await client.actor('hgservices/vigloo-drama-scraper').call({
    country: 'us',
    language: 'en',
});
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
for (const drama of items) {
    console.log(drama.releaseDate, drama.viewCount, drama.title, drama.genres.join(', '));
}
```

#### With the Python client

Install the client with `pip install apify-client` (version 3.0 or later), then run:

```python
from apify_client import ApifyClient
client = ApifyClient("YOUR_API_TOKEN")
run = client.actor("hgservices/vigloo-drama-scraper").call(
    run_input={"country": "us", "language": "en"}
)
if run is None:
    raise RuntimeError("The run was not found.")
for drama in client.dataset(run.default_dataset_id).iterate_items():
    print(drama["releaseDate"], drama["viewCount"], drama["title"])
```

#### With Claude, ChatGPT and other AI assistants (MCP)

Connect your AI assistant to the **Apify MCP server**. The assistant can then run Vigloo Drama Scraper for you and answer from the results. To give the assistant this Actor as a tool, use this server URL:

```
https://mcp.apify.com?tools=hgservices/vigloo-drama-scraper
```

- **Claude (claude.ai or Claude Desktop):** open **Settings → Connectors**, click **Add custom connector** and paste the URL.
- **Claude Code:** run `claude mcp add --transport http apify "https://mcp.apify.com?tools=hgservices/vigloo-drama-scraper"`.
- **ChatGPT:** in **Settings → Apps & Connectors**, turn on developer mode, create a connector and paste the URL.
- **Cursor, VS Code, Codex and other MCP clients:** add the URL as a remote (HTTP) MCP server. You can also use the [Apify MCP configurator](https://mcp.apify.com/) to make the configuration for your client.

Sign in with your Apify account when the assistant asks. Then ask in plain language, for example:

- *"Get all Vigloo dramas in the US and tell me which genres have the most views."*
- *"List the Vigloo dramas released this month with their free-episode counts."*
- *"Compare the Vigloo catalogs of Korea and Japan."*

#### With integrations

Send the results to **Google Sheets, Slack, email, Zapier, Make, n8n, Airbyte** or any **webhook** from the Actor's **Integrations** tab. For example, read the US catalog every week and add the new dramas to a Google Sheet.

### Tips

- **One country per run.** To compare countries, run the Actor one time for each country, or save one task for each country.
- **Track new releases.** The catalog comes newest first, so a small **Max dramas** value gives you the latest releases.
- **Use the drama ID.** `programId` is the same in all countries and languages. Use it to join the rows of different runs.
- **Get the episodes or the ranking.** To get one row for each episode (number, length, price), use [Vigloo Episode Scraper](https://apify.com/hgservices/vigloo-episode-scraper). To get the Top 10 and the popularity ranking, use [Vigloo Trending Scraper](https://apify.com/hgservices/vigloo-trending-scraper).

### Limits

- **The catalog is different in each country.** A drama that is not available in the selected country is skipped. The log shows which dramas were skipped.
- **Some fields are often empty.** Vigloo gives the cast for about 1 drama in 10, and a tagline for only some dramas.
- **Videos are not included.** Vigloo videos are protected (DRM) and need a paid account. The Actor saves the data about the dramas, not the videos.

### FAQ, disclaimers and support

**Is there an official Vigloo API?**
Vigloo does not publish a documented API for developers. This Actor gives you the same drama data as structured JSON, and you can call it from the Apify API.

**Do I need a Vigloo account or the app?**
No. The Actor reads only the public catalog that vigloo.com shows to any visitor. It never logs in.

**Do I need a proxy?**
No. You do not need to set up a proxy.

**How fresh is the data?**
Each run reads the live Vigloo catalog. The view, like and bookmark counts are the values at the time of the run.

**Is it legal to scrape Vigloo?**
The Actor collects only public catalog data about dramas. It does not collect personal data. Posters, synopses and videos are protected by copyright. You are responsible for using the data in line with Vigloo's terms of service and the law in your country.

**I found a problem or need a feature.**
Open an issue on the **Issues** tab, and we will look into it. Custom solutions are available on request.
