## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Amazon Best Sellers Scraper — Product Research & Ranks

Scrape Amazon's **Best Sellers, New Releases, Movers & Shakers and Most Wished For** charts — **rank, ASIN, title, price, rating, review count and image** — across any category and marketplace.

Built for **Amazon FBA sellers and e-commerce product research**: spot what's selling, what's rising, and where the gaps are.

### What you can do with it

- 📈 **Product research** — find winning products by category and rank
- 🚀 **Trend spotting** — Movers & Shakers surfaces fast risers early
- 🕵️ **Competitor tracking** — monitor rivals' ASINs and ranks over time
- 💰 **Price & review monitoring** — run on a schedule and diff the results

### Input

| Field | Type | Description |
|-------|------|-------------|
| `category` | string | Category slug, e.g. `electronics`, `toys-and-games`, `kitchen`, `beauty`. |
| `reportType` | select | Best Sellers · New Releases · Movers & Shakers · Most Wished For. |
| `domain` | string | Marketplace, e.g. `amazon.com`, `amazon.co.uk`, `amazon.de`. |
| `startUrls` | array | Chart URLs to scrape directly (overrides the above). |
| `maxProducts` | integer | Max products (each chart holds up to 100). |

#### Example

```json
{ "category": "kitchen", "reportType": "movers-and-shakers", "domain": "amazon.com", "maxProducts": 100 }
```

### Output

```json
{
  "rank": 1,
  "asin": "B08JHCVHTY",
  "title": "blink plus plan with monthly auto-renewal",
  "price": 11.99,
  "priceText": "$11.99",
  "currency": "$",
  "rating": 4.4,
  "reviewCount": 280404,
  "category": "electronics",
  "reportType": "bestsellers",
  "image": "https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/....png",
  "url": "https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08JHCVHTY"
}
```

Export to JSON, CSV, Excel, or pull live via the Apify API.

### Notes

- **Prices are returned in the marketplace's own currency.** Amazon prices by visitor location, so the Actor pins the locale to the marketplace you chose — `amazon.com` returns USD, `amazon.co.uk` returns GBP, and so on.
- A **residential proxy is strongly recommended**; Amazon serves a bot check to datacenter IPs at scale. The Actor rotates IPs and retries automatically.
- Each chart is split across 2 pages of 50; the Actor walks both up to `maxProducts`.
