## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

# README

## Rightmove Scraper — UK Property Listings & Prices

Scrape **Rightmove**, the UK's biggest property portal — **price, bedrooms, bathrooms, address, property type, estate agent, coordinates and photos** — for sale or to rent. No login, no API key.

### What you can do with it

- 🏘️ **UK property market research** — pricing and supply by area
- 💷 **Investment analysis** — price per area, listing age, reductions
- 🧲 **Estate-agent lead lists** — agent name and phone on every listing
- 🔔 **New-listing alerts** — run on a schedule and diff the results

### Input

| Field | Type | Description |
|-------|------|-------------|
| `locationIdentifier` | string | Rightmove location code, e.g. `REGION^87490` (London). Copy it from a Rightmove search URL. |
| `channel` | select | `buy` (for sale) or `rent`. |
| `minPrice` / `maxPrice` | integer | Price filters (GBP). |
| `minBedrooms` / `maxBedrooms` | integer | Bedroom filters. |
| `propertyTypes` | string | e.g. `detached,semi-detached,flat`. |
| `radiusMiles` | integer | Search radius around the location. |
| `startUrls` | array | Rightmove search URLs with your own filters (overrides the above). |
| `maxProperties` | integer | Maximum listings to scrape. |

#### Example

```json
{ "locationIdentifier": "REGION^87490", "channel": "buy", "minPrice": 300000, "maxPrice": 800000, "minBedrooms": 2, "maxProperties": 200 }
```

### Output

```json
{
  "id": "168123456",
  "address": "Kirkdale Road, Leytonstone, E11",
  "price": 370000,
  "priceText": "£370,000",
  "bedrooms": 2,
  "bathrooms": 1,
  "propertyType": "Flat",
  "summary": "A well presented two bedroom apartment...",
  "addedOrReduced": "Added on 02/08/2026",
  "agentName": "Highcastle Estates",
  "agentPhone": "020 1234 5678",
  "latitude": 51.5673,
  "longitude": 0.0089,
  "image": "https://media.rightmove.co.uk/....jpeg",
  "url": "https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/168123456"
}
```

Export to JSON, CSV, Excel, or pull live via the Apify API.

### Notes

- Reads Rightmove's own embedded listing data, so results match the site exactly.
- **Finding your `locationIdentifier`:** search on Rightmove, then copy the `locationIdentifier` value out of the results URL (e.g. `REGION%5E87490` → `REGION^87490`).
- Returns 24 listings per page and paginates automatically up to `maxProperties`.
- Some listings show `POA` (price on application) — those have a `priceText` but no numeric `price`.
