## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Google Images API — Image URLs, Sources & Sizes

Turn any Google Images search into clean JSON in seconds: the **original full-size image URL** with its width and height, the thumbnail, the **page the image sits on**, its domain and title. Any country, any language, filters for size, type, color and time. No Google account, no API key, no browser to babysit.

**Try it in 1 minute:**

1. Press **Start**. The prefilled input searches Google Images for "golden retriever" and "eiffel tower" (US, English, 50 images each).
2. A few seconds later the **Output** tab lists about 100 images: original URL, size, source page, domain and title.
3. Download JSON, CSV or Excel, call it from the API or from an AI agent, or schedule it to track your visibility daily.

Price: **$1.00 per 1,000 images**. Proxies are included. Queries that return nothing and errors are free.

**Use it to:**

- Build image datasets for research, training data collection and moodboards, with the source page for every picture.
- Find where your product or brand images appear around the web, per country.
- Check which sites rank in Google Images for your keywords.
- Give an AI agent or a pipeline real image links plus the page they come from.
- Compare Google Images results between countries and languages in one run.

**Why this one:**

- **Originals, not previews.** `imageUrl` is the picture's real address with its true width and height; the Google thumbnail is a separate field.
- **Always the source page.** Every record carries `sourcePageUrl` and `sourceDomain`, ready to click or to attribute.
- **Pay per image, not per run.** No monthly minimum, nothing to pay for empty queries or errors.
- **The Google Images filters.** Size, type, color and time, as in the toolbar.

### Input

| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| `queries` | Search terms, one per line. Required. |
| `country` | Two-letter country code, default `us`. |
| `language` | Two-letter language code, default `en`. |
| `maxImagesPerQuery` | 1-100 (default 50). Google serves up to about 100 images per search. |
| `size` | `any`, `large`, `medium`, `icon`. |
| `type` | `any`, `photo`, `clipart`, `lineart`, `face`, `animated`. |
| `color` | `any`, `color`, `gray`, `transparent`, or a color name. |
| `time` | `any`, `day`, `week`, `month`, `year`. |
| `maxConcurrency` | Queries searched at the same time, 1-10 (default 3). |

### Output

One record per image:

| Field | What it is |
|---|---|
| `query`, `country`, `language`, `filters` | What was searched and with which filters |
| `position` | Rank of the image among the query's images (1 = first) |
| `title` | The title Google shows for the image |
| `imageUrl`, `width`, `height` | The original image and its size in pixels |
| `thumbnailUrl` | Google's small preview |
| `sourcePageUrl`, `sourcePageResolved`, `sourceDomain` | The page the image appears on and its domain |
| `fileSize`, `publishedText` | File size and, for recent images, the age text, when Google shows them |
| `status`, `error`, `scrapedAt` | `OK`, or `NO_RESULTS` / `FAILED` for a query that gave nothing (free), and when it was collected |

### Good to know

- Google's own limit is about 100 images per search; use several related queries or filters for more.
- Image links belong to the sites that host them; check the source page for usage rights before reusing a picture.
- Google sometimes asks for a verification instead of results. The Actor does not try to get around it: that query gets one free `FAILED` record, run it again later.

## `country` (type: `string`):

Two-letter country code for the results (Google's gl parameter): us, gb, de, fr, in, br ...

## `language` (type: `string`):

Two-letter language code (Google's hl parameter): en, de, fr, es, pt ...

## `maxImagesPerQuery` (type: `integer`):

How many images to return per query (1-100). Google serves up to about 100 images per search.

## `size` (type: `string`):

Only images of this size: large (about 500 px and up), medium or icon.

## `type` (type: `string`):

Only this kind of image.

## `color` (type: `string`):

Only images in this color.

## `time` (type: `string`):

Only images Google found within this period.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Set automatically; leave it as it is. Proxy use is included in the price per image. Another proxy setting is replaced at run time.

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

How many queries to search at the same time (1-10).
