## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Google Trends Trending Now — Rising Searches by Country

Get every search trending on Google right now, for any country or US state: the search, its search volume, how much it has risen, when it started (and ended), its category and the related searches people make with it. Not just the 10 the Trends RSS feed shows — all of them.

**Why this one**

- 📈 **All the trends, not 10.** Google's RSS feed lists 10 per country. This Actor reads the full "Trending now" list: in a live test, 216 trends for the US in 24 hours and 1,784 in 7 days.
- 🌍 **Many countries per run.** Six countries and a US state — 1,331 trends — in 17.5 seconds.
- 🔎 **Filters that matter.** Category, minimum search volume, only still-trending, and order by volume or recency.
- 🔗 **Ready to dig in.** Every trend comes with its related searches and a Google Trends Explore link.
- 💸 **You pay only for trends delivered.** Trends your filters skip are free.

### What you get

For every trending search:

| Field | What it is |
|---|---|
| `query`, `country`, `rank` | the search, where, and its place in your ordered list |
| `searchVolume` | searches in the period, in Google's buckets (1,000 / 10,000 / 50,000 / 100,000…) |
| `increasePercent` | how much it rose |
| `startedAt`, `endedAt`, `isActive` | when it started trending, when it stopped, and whether it still is |
| `categories` | Google's categories: Sports, Entertainment, Technology, Politics… |
| `relatedQueries` | the searches people make with it |
| `newsArticleCount` | how many news articles Google ties to it |
| `exploreUrl` | the trend in Google Trends Explore |
| `input`, `period`, `scrapedAt`, `status`, `error` | the country asked for, the period, and why a country gave nothing |

#### Example

A real record from a live run — United Kingdom, past 7 days, 24 September 2026:

```json
{
  "query": "vr glasses",
  "country": "GB",
  "startedAt": "2026-09-24T09:50:00.000Z",
  "isActive": true,
  "searchVolume": 10000,
  "increasePercent": 800,
  "categories": ["Technology"],
  "relatedQueries": ["meta glasses", "meta vr glasses", "meta ai glasses", "meta"],
  "newsArticleCount": 14,
  "exploreUrl": "https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?q=vr%20glasses&geo=GB&date=now%207-d",
  "status": "OK"
}
```

### How to use it

1. Add **Countries** — two-letter codes (US, GB, DE, HU, JP) or US states (US-CA).
2. Pick the **Period**: past 4 hours, 24 hours, 48 hours or 7 days.
3. Optionally narrow by **Categories**, **Minimum search volume** or **Only still trending**, and pick the **Order**.
4. Press **Start**, and download the results from the **Output** tab as JSON, CSV or Excel.

For a daily trend report, save your input as a task and schedule it every morning. Pair it with our Google Trends Scraper to get the interest-over-time curve of any trend you care about.

You can also call it from the Apify API, from Make, Zapier or n8n, or from an AI agent through the Apify MCP server.

### Pricing

You are charged **per trend delivered** — see the price on this page. Trends your filters skip are free.

### FAQ

**Why is search volume a round number?** Google Trends reports volume in buckets, not exact counts.

**Is this affiliated with Google?** No. This is an independent tool that reads the public Google Trends "Trending now" page.

**Like it?** A short review on the Store page helps other people find this Actor. Something missing or broken? Tell us on the Issues tab — we read every one.
