## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Remote Jobs Scraper — Himalayas, Remote OK, WWR & Arbeitnow

Get remote jobs from four job boards in one list: Himalayas, Remote OK, We Work Remotely and Arbeitnow. Title, company, salary, where you can work from, seniority, tags, posting date, and the link to the job — with duplicates removed. Filter by keywords and by how recent the job is.

**Why this one**

- 🌍 **Four boards, one list.** Every job in the same shape, whichever board it came from, with a `source` field. A live test run collected 615 jobs from the last 7 days in 20 seconds.
- 🧹 **Duplicates removed.** The same company and title posted twice — on one board or on two — is delivered once. In that test run, 107 duplicates were left out, and not charged.
- 💰 **Salaries where the board has them.** Minimum, maximum, currency and period (annual, hourly) — a third of the jobs in the test run had a salary.
- 🔎 **Keyword filters that behave.** `python`, `product designer`, `data engineer` — every word of a line must appear in the job's title, tags or company.
- 💸 **You pay only for jobs delivered.** A board with nothing matching comes back as a free record saying so.

### What you get

For every job:

| Field | What it is |
|---|---|
| `source` | Himalayas, Remote OK, We Work Remotely or Arbeitnow |
| `title`, `company`, `companyLogo` | the job and who is hiring |
| `location` | where you can work from ("Anywhere", "United States", "Remote (Berlin)") |
| `employmentType`, `seniority` | when the board says |
| `salaryMin`, `salaryMax`, `salaryCurrency`, `salaryPeriod` | when the board says |
| `tags` | categories and skills |
| `postedAt`, `expiresAt` | dates, ISO 8601 |
| `summary`, `description` | a short summary where the board has one, and the full description as plain text |
| `jobUrl`, `applyUrl` | the job on its board, and where to apply |
| `input`, `scrapedAt`, `status`, `error` | your keywords, when the row was read, and why a board gave nothing |

#### Example

A real record from a live run, 24 September 2026 (description left out here):

```json
{
  "source": "Himalayas",
  "title": "Portfolio Director, NAVFAC & US Coast Guard",
  "company": "Parsons Corporation",
  "location": "United States",
  "employmentType": "Full Time",
  "seniority": "Director",
  "salaryMin": 157500,
  "salaryMax": 283500,
  "salaryCurrency": "USD",
  "salaryPeriod": "annual",
  "tags": ["Portfolio Director", "Federal Defense", "Defense Contracting"],
  "postedAt": "2026-09-24T10:50:56.000Z",
  "expiresAt": "2026-11-23T10:50:55.000Z",
  "jobUrl": "https://himalayas.app/companies/parsons-corporation/jobs/portfolio-director-navfac-us-coast-guard",
  "status": "OK"
}
```

### How to use it

1. Add **Keywords** — job titles or skills, one per line. Leave it empty for every remote job.
2. Pick the **Job boards**, the **Max jobs per board** and how recent the jobs must be (**Posted within (days)**).
3. Press **Start**, and download the results from the **Output** tab as JSON, CSV or Excel.

For a daily digest of new remote jobs, save your input as a task, schedule it every morning, and set **Posted within** to 1.

You can also call it from the Apify API, from Make, Zapier or n8n, or from an AI agent through the Apify MCP server.

### Using the jobs

The boards ask for credit: **link to the job on its board (`jobUrl`) and name the board (`source`) wherever you show a job.** Himalayas also asks that its jobs are not passed on to Jooble, Neuvoo, Google Jobs or LinkedIn Jobs.

### Pricing

You are charged **per job delivered** — see the price on this page. Duplicates and boards with nothing matching are free.

### FAQ

**Why are there more Himalayas jobs than others?** Himalayas has the largest open feed (over 100,000 remote jobs). Remote OK and We Work Remotely publish their latest jobs only, so they give fewer — and fewer still for a narrow keyword or a short period.

**Are Arbeitnow jobs remote?** Arbeitnow lists on-site jobs in Europe too. With **Remote only (Arbeitnow)** on (the default), only its remote jobs are kept.

**Why not Remotive or Jobicy?** Their free feeds may only be read a few times a day or once an hour, which an Actor that many people run would break.

**Are recruiters' contact details in the data?** No. A phone number or e-mail address written into a job's summary or description is replaced with `[phone removed]` / `[e-mail removed]`; apply through the job's `url`.

**Like it?** A short review on the Store page helps other people find this Actor. Something missing or broken? Tell us on the Issues tab — we read every one.

# Actor input Schema

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

Job titles or skills, one per line (python, product designer, react). A job matches if all words of any line appear in its title, tags or company. Empty: all remote jobs.

## `sources` (type: `array`):

Which boards to read.

## `maxJobsPerSource` (type: `integer`):

Stops each board after this many jobs.

## `postedWithinDays` (type: `integer`):

Only jobs posted in the last this many days. 0: any age.

## `remoteOnly` (type: `boolean`):

Arbeitnow lists on-site jobs in Europe too. On: only its remote ones.

## `includeDescription` (type: `boolean`):

Include the full job description as plain text. Off: shorter rows.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Used only when a job board turns a request down: the first try goes out directly.
